How to Bank Fish for Striped Bass for Beginners

Today I am set up at the beautiful bank of Napa River showing you two different methods to fish for Stripers off the bank. This training is designed for beginners who are looking to learn how to fish for striped bass off the bank of lakes, rivers, bays, and oceans. Great video! Any tips on avoiding getting caught? Either on logs, in between rocks or holes, in the weeds, etc.

Thanks. When ready to retrieve, tighten up the line then jerk the rod up to get the weight off the bottom. Then reel as fast as you can. This way you won't be dragging your weight through the bottom. Still, snags are part of fishing :) Pack extras.

That is not the way to rig a bait at all. That way you’ll lose more bait then catching fish

So far, I found this way to be superior to what I've done in the past, but, I am always open to experimentation. How would you recommend rigging anchovies?

Pierce the anchovy closer to the tail end then rotate the anchovy parallel to the shank of the hook. Use magic thread to wrap bait to shank. It won't come off...ever. @@catchhappy
