Omg girl I feel for you, yes it might not be the worst but just all at once just sucks, but your positivity is awesome and yes God will always provide. Last summer I hit the lowest point in my life financially and with having a disabled son and my daughter still at home I was so stressed at that at 51. February of this year I started watching the budgeting videos, and in 5 months I’m the best I’ve ever been financially, I will say a prayer for you guys just for some relief, your faith is big never loose that, Blessings to you and your family and my special friend Eli ❤

My son is also neurodivergent. When he was 7 he happily announced one day, “I opened my window and went on the roof to say hi to people walking by!” We screwed his windows shut. That was terrifying.
You are absolutely correct that there are worse things that can happen than these financial setbacks. Safety, a sense of security, our health, having a roof over our heads, and being able to continue to work are our baselines. We have setbacks every year, but God is good and we are together and happy.

Yes, this is relatable. It's just me and my mom, bills are divided in half. On August 2023 she lost here job and couldn't get unemployment. To top it off, still with no job, my mom also broke her wrist on December 2023. So life hit us twice in one year. I was and still am grateful for this system because even though it wiped out allllllll of my cash envelopes, we were able to make ends meet. It was a rough journey, but we were patient and took it day by day. She has a job now, recovered well, and now I'm back to recoverying my cash envelopes! I know you and your family will pull through! Sending lots of ❤❤❤

This is how our house was. A bunch “little thing” that happened at once. Our water heater ended up bursting, ac duct was pumped into a wall (without an exit), black mold and foundation crack found when trying to update the finished basement flooring. It was clear they just covered everything to pass inspection. I was extremely ill for months and thought the new area allergies were just awful…

Yes, girl... I have had to empty ALLLLLLL my envelopes, savings, etc after a hurricane a couple years back. We had just paid off my car and two or three days later, hurricane hit and sent me in a tailspin. Luckily, my dad could help us, financially, because it wiped us out. And I cannot say that A/C isn't a real emergency for me and my family. We live in central Florida and it stays almost 100 degrees lately- so A/C is a definite emergency here!

So sorry to hear about that Emily! I love how positive your attitude is towards all that's happening in your new home! That's a lot of appliances breaking down in a short amount of time and you definitely should consider getting a real estate attorney to look into all that. ❤

Wow, sooooo sorry about all the things you've been going through! That's a lot at once (or even separately it would be a lot to deal with). We just moved into our dream/forever home but thankfully nothing has broken or stopped working.
I usually bankrupt our sinking funds at the end of each year instead of rolling it over. So we can start fresh in the New Year! It makes it fun and taking all the money out of your sinking funds isn't a huge deal. You'll bounce back quickly and like you said, God is in control and he's got you!!! 🥰

My guy is a really good HVAC tech. The best advice he always gives is to get a second opinion when you're told things like that. There are a lot of not completely honest companies that like to push replacements over repairs when they aren't needed.
I'm sorry you guys are going through it so hard right now.

    • @cmpprince
      @cmpprince 6 месяцев назад

I also wanted to add, you're 100% right on what is and isn't important. My HVAC tech guy had a major stroke, followed by a couple smaller strokes and a major seizure. He is alive though. So, even though our income went to almost nothing and our savings are going fast, I don't care about anything other than the fact that I get more time with him. Our kids get more time with him.
People are important. The rest will sort itself out. ❤

We bought a house in the country and a few months later, after a hard rain, the septic caved in. We had NO money at the time, our in-laws bailed us out until we got our tax refund. We also SOLD a home, the a/c was working beautifully and we dropped off extra keys the day after closing and it had gone out. It was so hot in that house, they'd commented during the walk-through how nice and cool it was so they knew it worked fine, they didn't ask for funds back. Buying a house, especially if it is 10-15 years old is such a risk (I don't know how old your house is). Those systems simply do not last forever. I'd need a heloc to replace 35K worth of things. That would be horrible. So sorry these things have broken :(

I feel for you. I'm nowhere near on the same level, but I just started saving and cash stuffing about 6 weeks ago and then the air went out in my suv. It's going to cost at least what I have in my emergency fund so far and my car envelope to cover it and they don't know when they'll have the part in to fix it as that part is backordered across the country. I know it's just ac and plenty of people live without it for a month, but I seriously was in near tears after being at the dealership all day on Friday to then leave without ac. I'm glad that I have the cash, but it's a huge blow to lose a LOT of what I'd built up all at once.

Did you get the home insurance which covers all the appliances and a/c in the house usually the seller pays for it when they sell a house to someone. Thats what I would do when i sold my houses. So the company should replace the appliances or A/C, they are really 💩 about doing so, so you have to really push, that way you’re not out any money. 😊 Yes the pool thats what we do here in Az or hang out at Walmart or target. My microwave went out in two years when i moved in my new house, appliances just don’t last anymore.

WOW, thats a lot to deal with at one time. I'm guessing the restock has kept your mind occupied. Aside from the stuff breaking down, this seems like the dream home for your family. It's terrible that you have to make upgrades all in the beginning but after its done you won't have to deal with it again for hopefully several years. When my friend bought her first house, she went over at night after she closed and turned on the lights and cockroaches were running around everywhere! She saw no sign of them during the walk thru. During cleanup, it was obvious the previous owners knew about them and she contacted the realtor and in the end the previous owners had to cover some costs for the exterminator. I know it's different then appliances but maybe things will work out in your favor to help with costs.

I love these videos, but it's so hard to watch them since one single cash stuffing as almost my entire income. So unrelateable

I used to make $2000 a month as a social worker and at the same time my husband had an unpaid internship.
My husband and I have made sacrifices and worked very hard to get to where we are now. Let it be inspiring instead of unrelateable.

Get a real estate lawyer!!!! Do not kick out a penny until you talk to one. Sounds very fraudulent!
