Lynda Carter "Wonder Woman" was at one of her most vulnerable positions on this episode that I like how she acted. She looked so real on this one which seemed to be fighting for her life. I'd have liked to have been there to rescue her.
I have noticed in many episodes that Wonder Woman is placed in very vulnerable situations. Makes you wonder if the writers/producers were having Lynda Carter act out their fantasies of her.
Would you have liked seeing Debra Winger making some special guest appearances on Wonder Woman again reprising the role of Drusilla, alias Wonder Girl,Wonder Woman‘s younger sister & maybe see her get surprised at meeting Steve Trevor‘s lookalike son?
Totally disagree. The ABC ones were more fun for me. Also,, so much wasted potential with returning villains who never returned and inconsistencies in writing (How was Diana Prince at the 1976 Olympics when she didn't return to Man's World until 1977? )
I do like the ABC and CBS episodes. It’s sad that there will never be any DC shows on both networks. Along with Wonder Woman, I did like The Flash and Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. I never watched Supergirl’s first season on CBS.
she was teaching him he made up the story about wonder woman did not kill his brother during the world war and she finally gave him the opportunity to change his mind she did just that i thought it was superly wonderfully made that she took off her bracelets and her lasso for common sense to do the right thing by not hurting her or anyone else something what the world needs now is back in the networks instead of reality shows
Wonder Woman took a big risk in letting Ishida know that she has no special powers after she took off her magic belt and both bracelets after Ishida's powers were gone after the machine blew up. He could've killed her if he didn't hesitate and hear her tell him "because a 6-year-old boy believes he saw what never happened."
Every time I watch this scene, I hope the characters think to set off all the mines in the minefield before they leave, to prevent trespassers from getting blown to bits....Maybe I think too much about these shows...!
@brdiy -Atleast then "Steve" would have looked like hero and not just a male version of "Lois Lane". The writers needed to make more of an effort to make him appear more "worthy" of Wonder Woman's affections. Though, by the 2nd season they had all but dropped the "puppy love" they had vaguely shared.
Ishida must've thought for an instant if Wonder Woman was taking off her after she removed her bracelets & her magic belt of her own accord after Ishida lost his powers when the machine blew up just before she was to step on a landmine that would kill her. It's good that he wouldn't strike down a defenseless woman, even if she wasn't wearing anything in front of him.
If Ishida didn't hesitate to kill Wonder Woman after she took off her bracelets and magic belt, thus making herself powerless while she was reasoning with him after his powers were gone, would he take the bracelets and belt that she took off of her own free will and take her body away with him or not? He was so mad at her because he thought she killed his older brother, the only relative he had left. Good thing he decided to spare her life after he was convinced he made a mistake and jumped to conclusions.
@angelzr Agree, the series would have been a lot better if Steve Trevor had a lot more to do and ended up rescuing WW once in a while (say every 3-4 episodes or so).
If Ishida had killed Wonder Woman without hesitation after she took off her bracelets and her magic belt and told him that she's powerless after Ishida's powers were gone, would he really be able to face the consequences for killing her in revenge because he thought she killed his brother long ago, when they were boys? How would Wonder Woman's mother, her sister, Drusilla, and all the amazons on her island home feel if they heard about Wonder Woman getting killed while she was powerless? Would they make Ishida pay for that?
Even if Ishida did manage to kill Wonder Woman with his telepathic powers by making her stand into a minefield whether the machine giving him his powers would blow up or not,he'd probably take her magic belt, lasso, tiara & bracelets as keepsakes before deciding what to do about her body. Fortunately his machine blew up before he'd succeeded in killing her, which would've been for nothing because he had yet to know the truth about what really happened to his brother.
Wonder Woman should've used her magic lasso on Ishida after she saved Steve Trevor Jr and Dr. Wilson, who were choking when the machine to give Ishida his telekinetic powers exploded. What if someone or something made him fight Wonder Woman again long after he found out that his brother was alive after so many years apart from him and that Ishida knows Wonder Woman's weakness?
If Wonder Girl was in Wonder Woman‘s place, would she take off her bracelets & her magic belt after Ishida lost his powers when his machine blew up near the cell holding Steve Trevor,Jr and a scientist captive while trying to reason with him if he had a grudge against her for an injustice he thought she did to his brother when Ishida was a kid during World War 2?
If Steve Trevor,Jr saw Ishida kill Wonder Woman by using his telekinetic powers to move her into a minefield,he would've gone mad with rage. Thank goodness it didn't happen.
If Ishida saw Wonder Girl with Wonder Woman at the abandoned internment camp that Ishida and his brother were in when they were boys during the 1940's,would Ishida try to make Wonder Girl stay still while trying to send Wonder Woman to step over a minefield to avenge his brother, whom he thought was killed by Wonder Woman without any proof? Wonder Woman could've used the magic lasso on Ishida to make him forget that she showed him that she has no special powers after taking off her bracelets & her magic belt to reason with him at the risk of her own life, and she got through to him or he wouldn't have hesitated and killed her without knowing the truth.
If Wonder Woman‘s mother heard that she got killed by Ishhda after she took off her bracelets & her magic lbelt of her own accord while trying to reason with him after he lost his powers trying to make her step onto a mine to make her pay for what he thought she did, whch was killing his brother, the amazon queen would‘ve been very upset.
When Wonder Woman was moved to CBS,why wasn‘t it revealed the name of Steve Trevor‘s wife, who had his lookalike son,Steve Jr,and what had happened to her?
@@MrW781 Yes, it would've. It would be also interesting if Wonder Woman, in her Diana Prince identity, did meet Steve Trevor, Jr's mother and she would be surprised if her husband Steve, Sr, did tell her about Diana Prince, who was a Yeoman in the US Navy and worked for him at the War Dept. She would wonder if the Diana Prince she met is Wonder Woman, using the same alias she used in the 1940's.
While Ishita had Wonder Woman under his control,he could've taken her lasso off her belt and command her to let him kiss her good-bye before sending her to step on a mine, which she would've if Ishita's powers weren't gone when his machine exploded.
Even though Wonder Woman did succeed in reasoning with Isiida after she took off her bracelets and magic lasso following his losing his telekinetic powers when his machine exploded, she didn‘t think what would happen if they were to meet again and that someone or something would make him turn bad again and that he would defeat her with the knowledge of her weakness and would either try to kill her again,or keep her for his own amusement?
How did you feel when you saw Wonder Woman take off her bracelets and magic belt after Ishida lost his powers when his machine blew up and that he would've killed her if he didn't hesitate and if Wonder Woman didn't succeed in convincing him that she didn't kill his brother when they were boys back in the 1940's during WW 2? She was lucky that she reasoned with him after she let him know her weakness.
Wonder Woman was lucky that Ishida didn't decide to kiss her when she was fighting his power,or when he saw her take off her bracelets and magic belt after he lost his powers while reasoning with him.
This episode could have been neater if "Ishida" had pushed Wonder Woman to the point that she basicly had no other choice but to plead with him to spare her life and he in turn took her prisoner back to Japan, forcing "Steve" to come to her rescue.
Or maybe he could've binded Wonder Woman with her lasso while she was under his power and maybe command her to do whatever he tells her to do even without the lasso on her.
The following American athletes have Japanese heritage; Olympic and former University of Georgia swimmer Jay Litherland and his triplet brothers, former University of Georgia swimmers Kevin Litherland and Mick Litherland, Olympic and former UCLA gymnast Kyla Ross, former UCLA gymnast Katelyn Ohashi, and Olympic figure skaters Kristi Yamaguchi and Mirai Nagasu. How would they all react to this?
This is the only episode in which Wonder Woman took off both her bracelets & her magic belt after Ishita lost his powers when his machine blew up. He still could've killed her after she became powerless while she was tryin to reason with him,but it was good that she succeeded.
Ishida probably thouit that Wonder Woman was going to take off her costume when she took off her bracelits and her magic belt after Ishida lost his powers when his machine exploded just before she was about to step on a mine while he was trying to make her pay for the loss of his brother, whom he thought was killed by her. Surely Wonder Woman wouldn‘t take off more than her belt and bracelets in front of Ishida while she was reasoning with him and make realize he jumped to conclusions before getting all the facts.
Would you be surprised if she did take off more than her bracelets and her magic belt in front of Ishida whether he lost his powers or not to save Steve Trevor,Jr?
Steve Trevor,Jr. should've given Wonder Woman a kiss for saving him & the scientist from his cell after the machine went of fire, though she had been involved with Steve's father a long time ago.
I'm gonna have to agree to disagree, lol. I felt she only became hotter as the show went on, which was in turn inversely proportional with the quality/writing of the show. :D
@brdiy Not to sound too sad, I think she wanted to get rid of the wig and perhaps look a bit tougher with Diana being more beautiful but yes the stories did go down hill mostly.
If Ishida had men when his powers were gone, they could've come out from hiding and help him capture Wonder Woman after she willingly took off her bracelets and magic belt while trying to reason with him to let go of his hatred of her over something she thought she did when he was a kid during World War 2. Then he would've ordered his men to tie her up with her lasso and he would've ordered her to go with him wherever he wants to go to.

It was good that Wonder Woman made him realize that he doesn't yet know the truth just in time.
If Ishida had been coerced to go after Wonder Woman and get rid of her long after he spared her life over what he thought she did to his brother when they were kids, would he really do it after she showed him that she's powerless without her magic belt and her bracelets while reasoning with him even after he lost his powers? He would've killed her if he hadn't hesitated after she told him her weakness.
If Sheeta had been smart, he would had used his telekinetic powers to tie up Wonder Woman with her own golden lasso (Wonder Woman: NO!!! He's using his power to control my golden lasso! And despite my Amazon strength, I can't break it!"). Since the golden lasso compels Woman Woman to obey whover binds her with it, she would have no choice but to ohey Sheeka when he tells her to walk toward the mine field. When she takes that last step, Sheeka would go down in history as the man who killed Wonder Woman.
+Girardifan If he was really smart, he would have used his telekinesis to carry her instead and drop her on the landmine. :) But if I had telekinesis, I'd sure wouldn't want to kill WW. ;)
Maybe if Ishida had thought of it he would've ordered her to come with her and do whatever he tells her after bounding her with her magic lasso while he had his powers, like ordering her to let him kiss her,not kill her.
It would have been a better episode if Ashita had been alot more powerful and did'nt have to rely on the small electrical device for his powers and he gotten full control of Wonder Woman and was able to easily move & control her like a robotic servant and used her to commit crimes for him in a two part episode.
He was put into hiding and that there was a false report that he did die in a minefield. He was brought back to his brother Ishita after he lost his powers. Great peril! WW actually looked vulnerable and fearful for her life here.
I have noticed in many episodes that Wonder Woman is placed in very vulnerable situations. Makes you wonder if the writers/producers were having Lynda Carter act out their fantasies of her.
Because it makes superheroes more relatable

Wonder Woman has brains as well as well as beauty. She understands the code of Bushido.
So you you have Wonder Woman completely at your mercy, you can do anything you want to her and you ...make her cross a minefield ...I don't think so!
Ishida lacked imagination. Either that, or he was gay. :P
@@brdiy LOL
This was a good episode, and one of the few from the CBS years that I liked. Thanks for sharing!
Well wonder women has a lot of courage and know how she really gets even with the bad guys
CBS forbide since The 2nd Season that her belt was removed
