definitely. they did a decent job at keeping some secrets from the trailers. Surtr destroyed Asgard not Hela, and it was Thor's plan even. Some of the dialogue was mixed between scenes in the movie and trailers to hide context too.
Yeah, also in the trailers in the arena he didn't have the metal shocker on his neck. In general, Marvel seems to like to make their trailers different as well (they will often have entire lines in the trailers that are replaced with different lines in the exact same scene in the film itself), but I think this is the first time they went to such great lengths to avoid spoilers.

Listening to your thoughts make me think that the biggest problem with the movie is that the previous two Thors didn't set things up well enough to make the dramatic parts hit hard.
Exactly, and I think this movie precisely took advantage of audiences lack of attachment, to the point of making fun of the prior movies like the play scene. They smartly turned weak material into something strong, just strong in a different way (humor).
I agree. I do wish they hadn't dispatched the Warriors Three so quickly & so devoid of emotion. These were Thor's best friends & it felt like they were callously tossed aside, with no respect for the characters they'd created. I'm glad Sif was apparently on vacay somewhere else. Maybe she popped down to Midgard to visit with her pals at Shield. She is gonna be royally upset when she wants to go home & is all, "Heimdall? Uhh Heimdall? Are you on a lunch break? Can you do that thing you do with your huge sword & bring me home?"
i also think the hulk entering should not have been in the trailers. It would be cool if they only showed the gates opening and then thor screaming - "yess, we know each other !" that would make the movie really fun and also make people come watch the movie to see who the friend was!
Honestly I enjoyed that Strange was a lot more mysterious and just there to help out a little bit cause he is like that in the comics that aren’t his own self title. A hero needs help, they go see Strange/Strange shows up to help, he just tells them something useful or does a spell or whatever and then he’s out for the rest of the comic
^^ SAME like voldy and joker and palpatine would be _so_ offended. and sad (not that they'd admit it), because loki was pretty much a staple figure in villain pub up till now.
The first question I ask after watching a movie is "was it entertaining?" Everything else is a secondary point, plot and acting included. If I was entertained, then the movie did its job. Ragnorok was one of those movies. It entertained me. The plot may not have been perfect, but as long as I had fun I don't care
Your way of thinking is beyond simplistic. You can enjoy whatever movie you want, but Ragnarok was objectively bad for misusing the Ragnarok story. That Waititi director can make as many funny movies as he likes, but why does he have to take an epic tale like Ragnarok and turn it into B grade comedy material? There's Guardians Of The Galaxy for that. My main point is; CHOOSE another freaken story if you want to be funny and full of gags. Or maybe in a few years you'll get to see DC doing something like that; perhaps having Batman being a troll while his parents have been killed 5 minutes ago. Conclusion is that they trashed on an epic and very good plot that unfortunately can't be used in the same universe again.
CSPlayerDamon it's entertaining and that's what matters, it's smashing box office sales so that in its own right is a success, no movie is ever perfect and Thor ragnarok wasn't going after Oscars, if you want drama and intensity go watch titanic...Prior to this movie the Thor franchise was the weakest and probably still is because of the first 2 movies, the tone was serious and failed. Humor and action seems to be the way to go.
the movies didn't fail because it was serious tho, they fail because they have a pseudo romantic comedy between portman and hemsworth and you have jarjjar bins from two broke girls the first thor was good because it had emotion between loki and thor, but the movie doesn't focus enough on that and does this fish out of the water comedy thing

Honestly, I think they made the last 2 movies increasingly funny compared to there first movies because they are setting you up for the dark and depressing movie that will be avengers infinity war. It’s like the quiet before the storm.
42elliott the small bit of hope is that Infinity War is being directed by the Russo Brothers, just like Winter Soldier & Civil War, both of which kept the humor to a minimum compared to other MCU movies.
I liked how abrubt the meeting with Dr. Strange was. Made it seem like he was just too important to deal with them when they both used to be considered gods.
Justin Nash also how we percieved Dr Strange through the eyes of Thor, so it was all just one long confusing mess randomly teleporting and spilling beer while he does things we don't understand 😂
Narrator dude: When Odin dies, there isn't much sadness Me, someone who watched the other two Thor movies: well!! golly! go!!sh darn!! I !w!o!n!d!e!r! wh!!!y! !that! coul!!!d be!!
Dr. Void lol, maybe not. Loki was totally trolling Thor for most of it, so still a villain. If anything, perhaps they'll "bond" and wonder if Thor might be the adopted one instead. Loki and Hela look, dress and talk alike XD
See the thing is that the previous movies didn't give me any type of reason to care about the Warrior 3 or Asgard, so I didn't care that they were unceremoniously killed and destroyed respectively and so I didn't really mind the jokes that were made during those scenes. Additionally, I found Odin's death to be quite emotional and sad especially since it's revealed in Odin's final moments that he truly did love Loki saying, "I love you, my sons."
I agree! I don't understand ppl saying it wasn't emotional? Like, it could easily have become cheesy if they put more emotion into that scene. Like gotg vol. 2... That had some scenes that were too much for me.
I love that Scene, but also the last Scene between Thor and Loki. Thor believed Loki isn't here, he would betray him another time and said 'I would hug you if you would be here', throw that thing (what was it?), and Loki catch it and said 'I'm here'. If you think about it, this scene is beautiful. And I will be so mad if Marvel says another time 'Loki betrays anyone AGAIN'. Loki never was a villian, he was an anti-hero (my oppinion), and after that scene I described before... it wouldn't make sense.
the thing is though... _would loki be in villain pub or in superhero cafe?_ like, i'm so excited for the thor ragnarok hishe mainly just because of that. joker, voldy, and palpatine would feel so betrayed. does he loose his villain pub membership? do the people at superhero cafe just not let him in? oh and _hela_ in villain pub. omg. (funny how i'm more excited for hishe end scenes than the actual content lmao)
Just to clear it up, Hela is Loki's daughter in the comics. Fenris the wolf is actually an important part in Ragnarock in mythology. Basically Fenris and the Serpent were supposed to be gnawing at the world tree Ysmir until they bring about the end of days. In the comics Cul is Odin's elder brother who is banished like Hela was in the movie. Cul is the Serpent who brings about the end of days. Cul is also the super strong god who gains power through fear. So basically Hela replaced Cul in the storyline. Thor actually does have a biological older sister in the comics. Her name is Angela. Turns out there were 10 realms at one point and the 10th was basically angels/seraphim. Odin believed they killed Angela and retaliated by separating them from the world tree. Angela basically was adopted by them and didn't know her heritage. She recently turned up in the comics. So a lot of stuff was almost the same as the comics. Surtr (or however it's spelled) does pretty much play the role I've seen him play. I've only read like 20 Thor comics, the wikia, and crossover events. So there's likely other people that have plenty of more information.
I like it actually that Hela wasn't Lokis daughter, because it was a surprise for me. I love the nordic gods, know many things about them and I was really sure that at the end there's a "Surprise! She's my daughter!"-Scene from Loki, but when Odin was the one who said this I was like "I know it bef... wait, WHAT?"
Even in the movie her character is clearly "made to be" Loki's daughter, as a huge nerd when it comes to Nordic mythology, it kinda bummed me out that she wasn't, but I sorta see how that could've been difficult to follow through with. However, they could have used her character in a more faithful way and effectively gotten a better movie. I can't decide what I think about it, it's not bad and definitely entertaining, but I was disappointed tbh
So many people think they're being original by saying that "people will either love it or hate it," but virtually no one thought the humour was over-the-top. You have to be a self-serious nerd to think that.
Man, now that you mention it, that Hulk reveal really would have been so much more special if they hadn't blown it in the trailer. Still, they succeeded in making a really enjoyable Thor movie. Definitely could have had more emotional weight to it, but it's a fun time, which is the first thing I want from a comic book movie.
Didn't watch it either or read the synopsis and I was really blown away! Note to self : never watch any Marvel trailer anymore. Except for Infinity War, I mean... come on.
The emotional depth is when you stop to consider all that has happened, Thor’s fathers dead, all of Thor’s old friends are dead, Thor’s eye is gone, Banner might never turn back to himself, Asgard was blown out of the sky and Thor has to come to terms with how his father was a conqueror and a tyrannical ruler before taking on the guise of being benevolent. The only good that came of this was Thor has Loki back, doesn’t need his hammer to have his powers, and most of his people are alive. But even then, the guy in the big ship is probably going to be Thanos and a leaked Infinity Wars trailer showed an unconscious Thor in space amongst the wreckage of that ship, meaning his people could still be doomed. The point is, the darkness of this kind of plot requires it to be light-hearted so that it can still be a marvel/Disney film. In many ways, this film is also like Iron Man 3, forcing the hero to start at square one and rise back to glory. As for Doctor Strange, what he does here seems a lot like what he does in the comics, for the most part not being one of those heroes that does open battles and directly intervenes with hero business. He spends his time guarding the universe against mystical/extra dimensional threats, only fighting alongside others when it matters the most.
I mean yeah it was a really good movie and I needed a good laugh but I mean they took everything from Thor! It’s hammer, his hair, his eye, His home! Everything!
y'know. when i first saw thor III, i left super hyped an happy, then the second time i saw it in Imax, which i recoment. but despite my deep love of thor and the MCU (massive canckle unicorns, lol), i later realized that this movie, as funny as it was, is far from marvel's best. by no means the worst, and im kinda glad that HISHE sees the imperfections of this movie, but also its greatness, cause really, i did love this movie.
I still think the First Thor was the worst. It was a 2 hour long intro saying "Btw, this is Thor and he's gonna be an avenger...pst did you catch hawkeye ;)" Thor 2 was cool but I find it annoying that Agents of Shield (Having already started collecting weapons to fight aliens because of Thor 1 and Avengers, according to Nick Fury) didn't show up to help with the Alien situation or bother calling the rest of the Avengers. I really liked Thor 3 though
In addition to ruling, I think it is a movie about self-identification. Almost every character need to figure out who they really are, what they value the most, and choose their own path. The story is simple and straight-forward but it carried out pretty well in many ways.
I think that some of the jokes were overused. Like Loki not being there the whole time. When he wasn't there 1/4th of the time. And a serious flaw I had was when Thor became a prisoner. Everytime he got out of line, the zapped him; Being Thor of Lightening, he should've gotten immune or supper charged from it.
Riku Masamune lol that’s what I thought about the zapping too but then I remembered that the taser worked on him in the first movie and knocked his mmm out cold lmao
Is the post credit ending ship was of Thanos or Chitauri , Cause one big ship was remaining in the outer space when the tony closed the portal in the first avengers . It would make a great battle in the start of infinity war , between final chittauri and thor .
I think it was Thanos's ship, because it's pretty much confirmed that Loki took the Tesseract from Odin's Vault and we know that Thanos is collecting the Infinity Stones.
it is thanos' ship and in the credit scene of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 you see thor being on their ships windshield so this is where the Avengers and GOTG meet.
1. It's definitely Thanos. 2. Loki definitely took the Tesseract. 3a Loki signalled Thanos to give him the Tesseract to avoid his wrath or 3b Thanos tracked the Tesserac and completely surprised them. 4a Loki will hand over the Tesseract to avoid being killed 4b Thanos wrecks everyone and takes the Tesseract by force. Either way Thor is screwed but Loki may make a deal with Thanos to spare the Asgardians and continue on as their saviour or he only saves his skin and the Asgardians go extinct.
There are broad stroke similarities to the first film, but in many ways it’s the mirror opposite - that one was about Thor learning humility to realize he wasn’t ready to rule, this one was about Thor accepting responsibility that it was time. Obviously the relationship with Loki also moved in the opposite direction. So the parallels worked for me to bring the story full circle.
This movie was really fun. I just had so much fun in the theatres and it had been a while. It was a blast plus thor and hulk fight was amazing. Hope to see that and more in Infinity War
Antonio Romero Leyva maybe i came across wrong but i mean the action sequences with overpowered (compared to humans) beings which causes a lot of mayhem was really entertaining and in infinity war i was see as much destruction and strong battles
I get you. DC has an awesome serious tone and I prefer that considering the amount of joke filled marvel movies we have received. But I just really enjoyed watching this in theatre more than I expected to which caught me off guard.
Totally agree about the trailer giving away the Hulk reveal. Tired of trailers ruining movies I already know I want to see. Wish I could "opt out" when I watch a movie at the theater.
+naMeciR Both awesome movies in their own right, don't get me wrong. Truth be told, there probably only a couple, at most, MCU movies I don't really enjoy. And I'm under no illusions that GotG II will always be my favourite.
I loved it! I thought it was just the turn that the Thor movies needed. It was getting a bit to serious for a while there. It needed some wacky characters, bright colors and funny jokes. And that is exactly what this movie delivered. It also seemed like a bit of a nice relief before the big stuff goes down in Infinity War.
I completely agree! That would have been a great scene. Their only conversation was 'perhaps we could come to an arrangement', which to me didn't sound like Loki at all, so that was kinda disappointing.
This was the first movie I have ever watched in the marvel series, I totally loved it and I think infinity war has also inspired me to (consider) watching the rest of them. The movie was hilarious and amazing, even more so when I was watching it with my sister.
Kala Tanouye . You totally should!!! The movies are usually a lot of fun to watch with the family! (Some have got some "language" As Captain America would say, but they're still great and I recommend all of them!
DUDE your reviews are so heartfelt and honest! I take everything you say on board as you always come on with a clear mind and brush off your comments before reminding people this is just your opinion!
I'm just curious on how this plays out in the HISHE world. I mean, is Loki gonna be kicked out of the villain pub for doing something good while Hela takes his seat there? Will the cafe already be destroyed by Martha warlock by then?
This was actually a down under movie, Thor is Australian, The director who was also in the film, is a New Zealander/Kiwi, The New York shots were actually filmed in Brisbane Australia and some other shots on other worlds. So yeah... go me!
Padparadscha I feel like what he was getting at was it would have been incredible if you didn’t know Hulk was in it at all. If you saw Hulk in the trailers but not in the gladiator scene, you would have put two and two together by the time the fight came around in the movie.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 🤣😂😂🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣 😇 it was so funny 😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🌹🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂
*SPOILERS* Hela is Thor's sister, Asgard has a false history, Odin dies and in turn, releases Hela. Doctor Strange makes a cameo in this movie, and they use Surtur to defeat Hela with the Eternal Flame. They get on a giant blue ship to explore universe, since "Asgard is not a place, it is a people". After-Credits show that there is a giant ship approaching them and it cuts away. Also Thor lost an eye and has powers like Zeus.
It was funny at times but silly mostly. Never felt real emotion from characters because characters are not made vulnerable to injuries from fights or death of loved ones. Fight fatigue makes a movie monotonous. Hulk felt like a third wheel. And didn't know an entire population of a planet can be packed into a random spaceship without Ant-man there.
Technically, Asgard is more of a floating city than anything that would properly be called a planet. These are also the remnant that Hela didn't kill in her Asgardian genocide. In the comics, New Asgard (built after the fall of Asgard) was only the size of a couple New England states.
Here's my suggestion. Doctor Strange could just drop Hela into that never-ending abyss of falling into darkness since she can't really travel places on her own. Doctor Strange: "When it comes down to it. I may not even need that infinity emulator after all to defeat a goddess." Loki: "What makes you think she can't escape it." Doctor Strange: "You couldn't escape it so I figured it might work for her too. Only I'm not letting her out of that abyss ever."
I dont understand why they kill off The warriors three like if they didnt meant nothing...they had a major role in thor 1 and some screen time in thor 2 plus they were friend of Thor almost his entire life....
Because very few people liked them also they were bland. Also they were great warriors si having hella dispatch them with ease gave more sense of scale
Good point about the Hulk reveal! I said something similar to a friend during the credits. They could have teased it and piqued our interest without actually revealing him. That said, I can kind of see why they wanted to include him. I'm sure the "friend from work" comment and ensuing fight is what prompted some folks to buy tickets. But yeah fair point.
I am not much of a super hero fan and was dragged by friends to go. For once I liked it! seemed a bit more light hearted than the others. More comedic and I was entertained!

+adZinco In the comics, yes, in the movie, no. The movie is it's own thing and should be judged as such. So what if it's not accurate to the comic? It's not about how accurate it to the source material, it's about wether or not it's a good movie in it's own right. And Ragnarok is a pretty good movie in it's own right.
I still have to say that the thing that pissed me off the most was how short the battles were. Not necessarily the major ones, but the smaller ones that just killed off minor characters. I get it, Hela's supposed to be near unstoppable and just cuts a swath through Asgard. But at the same time, the Warriors three are the best warriors in all of Asgard, on par with Thor himself at times, and they get taken out with a combined total of 7 knives. Hogun himself only gets about 1 minute of screen time let alone actual fight time. I wish that it was a three vs one battle between the warriors three and Hela, with all of them giving there full might. Then one by one, the warriors three all fall to extremely valiant deaths, like how in the comics there was that one Asgardian who was found impaled in a sea of thousands of fallen enemies. Obviously nothing that grand, but something better than what we got. The seen leading up to Skurge's betrayal of Hela made it seem as if his last stand was going to be something great, and he lasts all of 30 seconds until his clip runs out. Which I'll give is something that probably would have actually happened, but I don't know, keep swinging the stocks of the guns around knocking more enemies off the bridge. It would certainly give his betrayal more meaning. All in all, I feel like extending the minor battles would have added more emotion to balance out the comedy that just wasn't done. Instead, some of the fiercest warriors in asgard get Kit-Fisto'd to death, which honestly kind of makes it laughable how difficult Hela finds it to defeat Thor, Loki, and Valkyrie who we know Hela can in fact defeat with a barrage of necro-swords while she's sober.
BlueBolt it was explained on the news (search on Google) that it was intended to be in New York, but changed last minute... Meaning, the scene would have been Odin dying in New York (in Hobo clothes) rather than in Norway (normal clothes)
Dude, I love your reviews. You're are not biased to a particular franchise and you say precise stuff that everyone can actually relate with. + it's funny.
xD, I really hope they do this. And as he turns the screwdriver, lightning sparks out of his hands/screwdriver and electrocutes the metal he is screwing into.
Excellent review! I’d have liked them to focus a bit more on the genuine darkness of the story, but given that it’s aimed at a ‘family’ audience, it’s understandable that they didn’t. And comedy always heightens the effect of tragedy. They could have given the Warriors Three a bit more of a send off - but Odin’s death scene was very nice; I particularly liked Loki’s reaction when Odin say, “I love you, my sons”. Their use of the Immigrant Song was inspired (my interest in the whole MCU Thor entirely grew from that!) - but I wonder if the decision to play the whole thing as a comedy is just to have fun with it while introducing the last plot elements needed as a foundation for Infinity War. The whole Thanos storyline has effectively been building since the first Thor film (Loki’s fall from the bridge apparently straight into an ‘alliance’ with Thanos and the search for the Tesseract). I’m glad we only have to wait until April to see what happens next!
The only problem i have with this movie is the same problem i had with GOTG vol 2. They should have done a better job balancing the humor and the serious stuff.
I think GOTG vol 2 did a better job blanching it out, I thought Yondu's death and funeral was sad, but I had no emotional connection to Ragnorak whatsoever.
Exactly! Honestly, I probably would have considered this an AMAZING movie if it just had a couple of jokes completely cut out of the movie. Throughout the movie I started to HATE that rock-guy (whatever his name was again?), not because his lines were bad per sé, but because they had SUCH bad timing. He basically shat all over the destruction of Asgard with a joke. This movie had basically not a single serious scene in it, and I think it desperately needed that. Alas, we got a movie that was very good as a comedy, but felt completely meaningless in the end because EVERYTHING was made to be funny.
Something I noticed is that in order to keep spoilers out, they actually changed the movie scenes from how they are in the trailers. In the trailers, when Thor jumped from the tower and is pulsing with lighting on the rainbow bridge, he has both of his eyes. He is missing one in the movie. That's CGI work. They finish that up until month or two before release. Ignore the English
OH that's right, didn't they just show most of the panning of the camera but stop before Spiderman was revealed?

The Best scene in the film was when Thor tricks Loki and his explanation to his brother. That was a rather serious scene and shows some real character development of Thor.
Thomas Grant my comment was "Thor has finally learnt"
Thomas Grant I loved Thor's "I'll just put this right over here" *throws across the room*.
The damage isn’t too bad the foundation is still standing
Oh, now it's gone.
Patrick O'Donnell hehe I animated those shots :p good fun!
I loved the Matt damon cameo. I can imagine Jimmy Kimmel reacting to that in the cinema's
HP Guy he had a cameo?

*The whole point of this movie is:*
1) Thor getting a haircut
2) Lost his hammer
3) Lost his eyes
4) R.I.P Asgard
Super Trollman eye actually he only lost one btw
And his friendship with a coworker
And 5. introduction of hela to MCU 6.Odin vanished 7.Loki is a bit of good guy now 8.Hemidall has a differnt coustume..thats it
Everyon lost it when the ball bounced back at thors face
Sanik I know everyone in the theater laughed
Everyone lost it in the theaters when the choir started singing during the play
when i saw it, everyone lost it when banner jumped out of the plane and didnt turn into hulk.
definitely best moment @tate
TatePhillips that was hilarious
TatePhillips lol... That scene killed me😂
TatePhillips that was really funny but it kinda ruined banners sacrifice bc he didn't think he could turn back again
They could use "Get Help!" against Thanos or "I've come to bargain!" Or even "Save Martha!"
YES!
And now I have the image of Thor trowing Loki at Thanos in my head, nice
Oh my gosh I now want to believe they will do that so bad...
MrDirtMan Or you know... I've come to bargain!... Or even.. MARTHA!!
MrDirtMan yup
Let's be honest, the only asgardians we care about are Thor, Loki, and Heimdall. Well, and valkyrie now.
*cough* and sif *cough*
Nah, not really.
Sif < Valkyrie
Well, Thor's mom too.
Darwin Xavier she was a character?
The real star of this movie was Matt Damon 😂.

nemlol he was acting as Thor in the play Loki set up I think
+Yap Kai Yang
What's weird though is someone else is listed in the credits for Fake Loki
did he get saved again..??
SmoothLegend I wasn’t sure. Thor or loki

Humor and action seems to be the way to go.
the movies didn't fail because it was serious tho, they fail because they have a pseudo romantic comedy between portman and hemsworth and you have jarjjar bins from two broke girls
the first thor was good because it had emotion between loki and thor, but the movie doesn't focus enough on that and does this fish out of the water comedy thing
MCU = kiddie movie
You forgot Matt Damon's Cameo!!!
Jesus christ that's Jason Bourne.
Dr. Mann went to Asgard?
👌
And Chris Hemsworth's other brother
Blukeyy And Sam Neill
When
Nick Fury to Thor: "eye" see you later

StarkTMA I know....
Is Hurt his real name, or is it pronounced "Furry?"
Got it!
As always, this was hilarious, accurate and insightful. I absolutely love these review videos, great job Daniel 👍

Hulk comes out
Loki: I have to leave this planet
Honestly, I think they made the last 2 movies increasingly funny compared to there first movies because they are setting you up for the dark and depressing movie that will be avengers infinity war. It’s like the quiet before the storm.
I actually REALLY like this theory/prediction. I hope you're right.
Like your theory but I doubt it. They are probably just going to do jokes while Thanos is killing everybody
Unfortunately, I agree with Adam
42elliott the small bit of hope is that Infinity War is being directed by the Russo Brothers, just like Winter Soldier & Civil War, both of which kept the humor to a minimum compared to other MCU movies.
I trust Russo Brothers in Infinity War
I liked how abrubt the meeting with Dr. Strange was. Made it seem like he was just too important to deal with them when they both used to be considered gods.
Justin Nash also how we percieved Dr Strange through the eyes of Thor, so it was all just one long confusing mess randomly teleporting and spilling beer while he does things we don't understand 😂
Narrator dude: When Odin dies, there isn't much sadness
Me, someone who watched the other two Thor movies: well!! golly! go!!sh darn!! I !w!o!n!d!e!r! wh!!!y! !that! coul!!!d be!!
I want a buddy cop action adventure movie with Ned, korg and Michael peña
And Daryl!

Please yes! Also redcrest5, team Daryl for life!
So..... Is Hela going to kick Loki out of the Villain's Pub?
Dr. Void LMFAO
Dr. Void lol, maybe not. Loki was totally trolling Thor for most of it, so still a villain. If anything, perhaps they'll "bond" and wonder if Thor might be the adopted one instead. Loki and Hela look, dress and talk alike XD
YES PLEASE LET HER DO THAT
Thor-Kyrie! I ship it!
But seriously,
MORE DOC STRANGE!
And when Odin said that Loki's eyes teared up, I thought that was a great moment
I agree! I don't understand ppl saying it wasn't emotional? Like, it could easily have become cheesy if they put more emotion into that scene. Like gotg vol. 2... That had some scenes that were too much for me.
I also liked that the thunderstorm, which begins to form after that death, punctuates Thor's emotions. It really enhanced the moment for me.
+Strangething that made me tear up too :( Odin will be missed! But at least he is with his love again. ♥♥♥
Love that Negative Nancy joke!
I lost it when I saw Matt Damon as Loki. XDXD The movie was so much fun. XD
the thing is though...
_would loki be in villain pub or in superhero cafe?_
like, i'm so excited for the thor ragnarok hishe mainly just because of that. joker, voldy, and palpatine would feel so betrayed. does he loose his villain pub membership? do the people at superhero cafe just not let him in?
oh and _hela_ in villain pub. omg.
(funny how i'm more excited for hishe end scenes than the actual content lmao)
PLEASE LET HIM STAYY.
But he took the Tesseract, so they'd better consider that.
YEEEES! You sir, are thinking ahead!
Maybe put Surtur in Villain Pub? Or would he be too big to fit in the door...
Or Palpatine kicks Surtur out for killing Hela as well
Ha! Grandmaster in Villain Pub- complaining about heroes ruining his fun
She's my daughter!"-Scene from Loki, but when Odin was the one who said this I was like "I know it bef... wait, WHAT?"
shut up
Thomas Flowers About what?
Even in the movie her character is clearly "made to be" Loki's daughter, as a huge nerd when it comes to Nordic mythology, it kinda bummed me out that she wasn't, but I sorta see how that could've been difficult to follow through with. However, they could have used her character in a more faithful way and effectively gotten a better movie. I can't decide what I think about it, it's not bad and definitely entertaining, but I was disappointed tbh
Dylan Perera You are correct. I mixed up the names. I'm gonna edit the original post but felt like making sure it's because you're correct.
So many people think they're being original by saying that "people will either love it or hate it," but virtually no one thought the humour was over-the-top. You have to be a self-serious nerd to think that.
Best scene is when thor and loki were talking to odin and the emotion between father and sons.
She was less goddess of death more goddess of making sharp things come out of nowhere
Ben Kraetsch my thoughts exactly.
As she draws her power from Asgard, she can hurl bigger pokey things. Quite impressive.
So, no death touch?
Ikr where is her sick and non heroically dead army
Man, now that you mention it, that Hulk reveal really would have been so much more special if they hadn't blown it in the trailer.
Still, they succeeded in making a really enjoyable Thor movie. Definitely could have had more emotional weight to it, but it's a fun time, which is the first thing I want from a comic book movie.
Tre' Jones good thing i didnt watch the trailer. My fams and i were genuinely surprised. The best part of rhe movie and loki in the elite seat
Didn't watch it either or read the synopsis and I was really blown away! Note to self : never watch any Marvel trailer anymore. Except for Infinity War, I mean... come on.
Definatly the funniest movie marvel has done in a LONG time
Hafsah _Deen So true
Hafsah _Deen "It's my birthday."
Guardians of the galaxy Volume 2??
Hafsah _Deen that is bad :/
The Name's Revan, Darth Revan agreed.
You know what I need in life? A full version of Ragnarok (Immigrant Parody) sung by Daniel. That is what I need.
Do it!
Yesss we need that!
YESSS WE TOTALLY NEED THAT XD
I mean yeah it was a really good movie and I needed a good laugh but I mean they took everything from Thor! It’s hammer, his hair, his eye, His home! Everything!
"Bye new Doug."
Selale Z Doug used to say that
Selale Z dvunfvj
Another Day, Another Doug
WHY! WHY! are they always going on about thor/valkyrie, there was far more chemistry between banner and Valkyrie
y'know. when i first saw thor III, i left super hyped an happy, then the second time i saw it in Imax, which i recoment. but despite my deep love of thor and the MCU (massive canckle unicorns, lol), i later realized that this movie, as funny as it was, is far from marvel's best. by no means the worst, and im kinda glad that HISHE sees the imperfections of this movie, but also its greatness, cause really, i did love this movie.
Cube Creater Is just glad Natalie Portman and Darcy are gone. They were so annoying
"Hey man" - korg
In addition to ruling, I think it is a movie about self-identification. Almost every character need to figure out who they really are, what they value the most, and choose their own path. The story is simple and straight-forward but it carried out pretty well in many ways.
Loved Thor Ragnarok. Has great comedy, great plot, and acting!
James Animations "great plot"
That musical intro 😂
I think that some of the jokes were overused. Like Loki not being there the whole time. When he wasn't there 1/4th of the time. And a serious flaw I had was when Thor became a prisoner. Everytime he got out of line, the zapped him; Being Thor of Lightening, he should've gotten immune or supper charged from it.
Riku Masamune lol that’s what I thought about the zapping too but then I remembered that the taser worked on him in the first movie and knocked his mmm out cold lmao
It's not electric it's a A neurotoxin that paralyses him.
I just have one question... WHERE THE FUNK WAS LADY SIF While Asgard was being destroyed!?!
The actress was too busy, and was called late into Thor Ragnarok, and in the end couldn't get enough free time from another show she's doing
Obviously Lady Sif was with Daryl
I know right
And that action probably prevented her from being killed on screen. So maybe Sif can show up in a later movie.
Lady sif got recruited in FBI ... now she is an FBI special agent working here in new york. 😁😂😂😂😂
Is the post credit ending ship was of Thanos or Chitauri ,
Cause one big ship was remaining in the outer space when the tony closed the portal in the first avengers .
It would make a great battle in the start of infinity war , between final chittauri and thor .
Aditya Verma it's confirmed to be Thanos's ship.
It would be cool if infinity war started with that post credit scene
1. It's definitely Thanos.
2. Loki definitely took the Tesseract.
3a Loki signalled Thanos to give him the Tesseract to avoid his wrath or
3b Thanos tracked the Tesserac and completely surprised them.
4a Loki will hand over the Tesseract to avoid being killed
4b Thanos wrecks everyone and takes the Tesseract by force.
In my opinion, these are the best movie reviews on the internet. They are funny and informative. Great job, Hishe!
This movie was really fun. I just had so much fun in the theatres and it had been a while. It was a blast plus thor and hulk fight was amazing. Hope to see that and more in Infinity War
HP Guy Well I hope they don't, I mean, it's Infinity War, it's gonna be a massacre, not a light-toned battle
Gerald Moody Marthaaaa !!!
Totally agree about the trailer giving away the Hulk reveal. Tired of trailers ruining movies I already know I want to see. Wish I could "opt out" when I watch a movie at the theater.
As much as I loved this movie, I still think GoTG II is the best marvel movie. It has an almost perfect blend of humour and sincerity.
DJchilcott really? I thought the first one was better, and I think iron man is the best marvel movie just cause all the stuff it sets up
+naMeciR Both awesome movies in their own right, don't get me wrong. Truth be told, there probably only
a couple, at most, MCU movies I don't really enjoy. And I'm under no illusions that GotG II will always be my favourite.
I agree with you
I completely agree with you good sir on the trailers for this spoiling the fight a bit too much. great point.
Vader: You have a sister?? That's wonderful!
Mingusboodle oh my god!
I love comments like these.
Vader: You must tell everyone!
HISHE needs to make this happen!
You know I would've loved a Loki Hela moment in the movie , just saying.
Thought that was missed opportunity. Could've been good to show off Hela's racism, ha ha. She doesn't seem to know he's adopted at all in the film.
hella is loki's daugther
in the comics
No, she's his daughter in Norse mythology
He's a friend from work!
Hela was hella hot just saying lol
DUDE your reviews are so heartfelt and honest! I take everything you say on board as you always come on with a clear mind and brush off your comments before reminding people this is just your opinion!
I'm just curious on how this plays out in the HISHE world. I mean, is Loki gonna be kicked out of the villain pub for doing something good while Hela takes his seat there? Will the cafe already be destroyed by Martha warlock by then?
* Gasp * He's right this changes the dynamic of villain pub!
I hope not! But I can bet on my life he took that tesseract so I really hope he gets to stay.
I bet Loki will be begging to stay in the pub, explaining all this time he's just trying to retrieve Tesseract for Thannos.
they could make it so that loki stole the tesseract, that would be hilarious
Where is the tesseract now with Asgard destroyed .
Loki took it.
I bet you $10 Loki grabbed it when he left the vault after raising Surtan 🙄
Felicity H i mean asking if loki took it is like asking if water is wet lol
Aditya Verma Possibly Loki took it than let it be either destroy or lost after the destruction of Asgard
Lucas Villarreal Yep which btw IT IS ( that is a joke)
I watched this yesterday and honestly I loved it! Very entertaining! Great actors, action was at the right moments, cgi was great and the music.
This was actually a down under movie, Thor is Australian, The director who was also in the film, is a New Zealander/Kiwi, The New York shots were actually filmed in Brisbane Australia and some other shots on other worlds. So yeah... go me!
They could have easily used Hulk in the trailer without ruining the reveal scene.
Padparadscha I feel like what he was getting at was it would have been incredible if you didn’t know Hulk was in it at all. If you saw Hulk in the trailers but not in the gladiator scene, you would have put two and two together by the time the fight came around in the movie.
Thor Ragnarok was amazing
Comedy D
You are so right
It was alright, some amazing shots here and there but a pretty standard movie.
Noticed, they haven’t made a Justice League how it should have ended?😒
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 🤣😂😂🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣 😇 it was so funny 😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🌹🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂
But what about Loki? 100% he totally took the tesseract. What do you think his plans with it are?
Get back to the ship before Asgard exploded.
He's gonna give it to Thanos.
In the end of Thor 2, he have a very very good plan where take place Odin. Eat grape and watch theatre.
I thought he took the cosmic cube
better question, why would Odin have a fake infinity gauntlet?
*SPOILERS*
Hela is Thor's sister, Asgard has a false history, Odin dies and in turn, releases Hela.
Thor is God of Thunder and Zeus is God of Thunder. Just Thor is Morse and Zeus is Greek. It would make sense for them to have the same powers
Thor: "CAN YOU STOP SMASHING THINGS FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFETIME!!!"
Hulk:"Awww...but big monster"
Remember, people died, and a lot
YES. I AGREE. I EXPECTED MORE STRANGE!!
Where was Sif?
Jamie Alexander could not get to the set in time.
On a mission.
Girl was treating herself like she deserves.
She decided to visit Agents of Shield & became as invisible as the show itself.
Sam Ribar and then she died
Have any of you seen taika's film 'Hunt for the wilderpeople' if not, DO IT it is amazing
Agree!!
all taikas's films are great
Sage Egas indeed
Thor: Hisherok
Here's my suggestion. Doctor Strange could just drop Hela into that never-ending abyss of falling into darkness since she can't really travel places on her own.
Doctor Strange: "When it comes down to it. I may not even need that infinity emulator after all to defeat a goddess."
Loki: "What makes you think she can't escape it."
Doctor Strange: "You couldn't escape it so I figured it might work for her too. Only I'm not letting her out of that abyss ever."
Thor ragnarok was by far the best Thor movie
The antler lady XD
I dont understand why they kill off The warriors three like if they didnt meant nothing...they had a major role in thor 1 and some screen time in thor 2 plus they were friend of Thor almost his entire life....
Because very few people liked them also they were bland. Also they were great warriors si having hella dispatch them with ease gave more sense of scale
Oh my gosh the Hammer pulled you off?
Just another RUclips commenter I'VE BEEN FALLING FOR THIRTY MINUTES
"She's HELLA fast!"
-2017 inside joke to my marvel-crazed sister.
Everyone lost it in the theatre when Stan Lee showed up😀😀😂😂
"Please, NO GRANDFATHER!!!" :-O
(BZZZZZZZ!)
It isn’t a marvel movie.
*If it doesn’t have a Stan Lee cameo.*
Same
I guess that was universal in movie halls worldwide then?
Same everyone went nuts lol
I am not much of a super hero fan and was dragged by friends to go. For once I liked it! seemed a bit more light hearted than the others. More comedic and I was entertained!

Bessieboo 100 but it's meant to be armageddon for ragnarock not filled with jokes
Steve ross totally agree
Anyone remember that leaked set photo where Odin was "Hobo Odin"? Whatever happened to that!?
he did use a cloth as an eyepatch so maybe that was just him before makeup
BlueBolt it was explained on the news (search on Google) that it was intended to be in New York, but changed last minute... Meaning, the scene would have been Odin dying in New York (in Hobo clothes) rather than in Norway (normal clothes)
"Tiny Avenger" - Hulk 2017
Yikes, hulk won't be satisfied when he sees Ant-Man.
Dude, I love your reviews. You're are not biased to a particular franchise and you say precise stuff that everyone can actually relate with. + it's funny.
You should do HISHE when thor's hammer get destroyed and he just pull out tool box and he choose another tool :D
Pulls out a wrench. "He who is worthy, may fasten bolts with the power of Thor"
No
Pulls out screwdrivers "He who is worthy, may tighten screws with the power of Thor."
xD, I really hope they do this.
And as he turns the screwdriver, lightning sparks out of his hands/screwdriver and electrocutes the metal he is screwing into.
who else wants a full song of the song they sang in the beginning?
Yeah whats that song?
Your reviews always make me feel happy. Thanks. 💕
Maaaaan, I’m SO happy I didn’t read the comments before watching the movie!
i can't believe Heimdall gave up his eyesight for an ice cream sundae!
😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😵😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😇😇😇😇🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
They did have lots of humor, yes, but I thought this film also did a much better job in the action department than GOTG2 did.
I think GOTG vol 2 did a better job blanching it out, I thought Yondu's death and funeral was sad, but I had no emotional connection to Ragnorak whatsoever.
Duo Russos can do that.
Alas, we got a movie that was very good as a comedy, but felt completely meaningless in the end because EVERYTHING was made to be funny.
same here, you would think for such a dark premise it would be a *bit* more serious but nope
