Probably 2011 first year 392 could be as new as 2014, they ran the nag1 5speeds in those

It's a stronger transmission than the ZF 8 speed

Its my understanding that a new hemi cant be run without water or coolant in it. Doesn't that cause number 7 cylinder to drop?
This is the first palet hemi iv seen without the radiator hooked up

Yea they were actually kinda slow in SRT-8 trim with the 5 speed. Significantly slower from a stop than any of the 8 speed 6.4 cars.

@@kennethpowers8995 makes complete sense! I really like the 8 speed in my charger, so much that I'm thinking of doing a resto-mod in my 67 GTX, with a gen 3 hemi and of course an 8 speed transmission. Really like the way it comes out of the hole, and the premium top end. Currently my b-body has a high end 440 wedge, and a tricked out 727 with 4.30 gears. Doesn't make much top end, but gets there in just about 11 seconds. Which doesn't seem fast to today's horsepower setups!

@@roknrone Yea the new ZF 8 speed transmissions are really a robust piece and having that many under drive ratios plus a few overdriven ones really is the sweet spot between good acceleration and still carrying mph and fuel efficiency up top. I guess that’s why they put them in everything from BMWs to Jeeps/Trucks, and even a Rolls Royce lol. I absolutely love the 10R80 (10 speed) in my F150 too. There literally is a gear ratio that’s perfect for nearly any speed so now that it’s tuned well there’s almost no dead spots anywhere in the power curve. When you mash the pedal, she just goes and keeps on going.
