Great little radio Tony with some really nice features. Surprisingly the signal meter appears to function correctly. I say the S meter on so many of these Chinese budget radio's are just full signal or no signal. On test the RT95 S meter could clearly be seen to increase in line with the RF test signal. And a great display too. The positive thing about having a small internal mag mount is that you do not need to worry about the thunderstorm about to hit Europe.
Thank you Ian, well spotted, also lots op options in a little package.. i am surprized about how clean it is on the SA, just like the handheld i tested from Retevis... you would expect very bad for this price, but they do, do a good job on that.. Yes the Mag mount... i put it on my radioactive central heating system now....what can go wrong :))) it does get proper grounding...
Hi again Tony :) I have the same radio (Anytone AT-778UV, only different name), and it's supported by CHIRP too. This is in my opinion a very good deal for a secondary/reserve dualbander.
@@TonyAlbus I am wondering as mine has FW 13 amd the audio gen level reads in dBm instead of mV. I have FW 16 hex files but waiting on Eproms . Wondering of that will change the readout.
@@jimwolsiffer4397 From what i understand from reading very quickly on the www. after verion13 are only minor GPIB commands updates so you don't win to much. usualy you can just change the dBm to mV just by typing value + mV.
@@TonyAlbus yes I saw the same, I do the inputs in mV but it won't change. The only hint I have is if I use the variable control and reduce the level as far as it will go it will switch to mV but only read 0 mV. If I make any change it reverts back to dBm.
@@jimwolsiffer4397 Yes taht weird indeed..if you have now 13 or higher, 16 should not be a problem i read, only version 15 is not good. so 16 should be fine.
Mine is verry Bad in Terms of Harmonics. In 2m first one is 55dB less than the Carrier but in 70cm its only -30 dB for the first harmonics....did you get the radio sponsored by retevis?
Hello i just pass my test for radio amateur and i wont to buy new radio i have 1 baofeng uv 13 will this be good radio to buy for next step after baofeng
Hi, if you are looking for a mobile/base station and not a handy yes seems good. But think about what you are missing right now with the handy and of this new radio will give you that. But to me it is nice and small and does the job for 2/70

Hi thanks for dropping by again! .. yes is the same.. agree very nice!.
Wow! Tony getting pretty good at "guessware" Love it overall!
Thank you Sir. :)
Hi Tony, neat little radio. On your 2955, what version FW is it running?
Hi Jim, it says software version 14. it was in when i bought it, i never touched it.

If its not good, send it back, yes it was sponsored, but i dont think they send me a different radio.
@@TonyAlbus i was checking two of them...not even in two meters the filters do what they should do...maybe a lot of bad luck....thanks for your answer

@@TonyAlbus thank you
my radio is with 5w at all power levels in uhf, but I use it with 12v. what can I do?
Are you sure your 12volt power supply can deliver enough power? is your SWR good?
@@TonyAlbus I'm using a 12v source and not 13.8 it is to provide 14a. my swr increases as I decrease the length of the cable...
@@emanoeldeoliveira8943 mine runs on 13.8, that could be a difference. about the swr , some antenna's need a minimul lengt of coax.
@@TonyAlbus My doubt is, the radio may have some system that reduces this power because of the swr?
yes it has, to protect the endstage
Is indeed silly that audio goed from minimum to max when lowering audio
yes...
I have no rx signal although the setup of the right shift and the frequency, can u help?
Did you try to switch off the sub-audio and digital audio squelsh for receiving?
