It hurts so much i never got to see Joey live. He was and is my favorite drummer and was a huge inspiration. I am 15 so i couldn't go see him when they were in Finland, as the concert had a age restriction of 18.
I only really got into metal now that I am 25 and I feel sad that I could have seen so much during my life but now its too late to see the prime of most bands. Specially with Slipknot 😢

In regards to the jump... I was at that show. It was at the Warehouse in Toronto Ontario around 1999-2000. He asked everyone to lay down and when I wouldn't Corey called me out. Instead of ruining it I ended up going with it and got down. They maybe went 10-15 seconds before the JUMP and everyone got up and jumped. Before the show I gave Shawn a jar with a dead bird in it. It was apparently in the studio for Mudvayne's debut album. I recall reading an article in Karrang magazine a few years after but I've long since lost that issues.
Joey was kicked out of the band, he did not depart on his own will. This was because many of the band members thought he was doing drugs when he actually had transverse myelitis. None of his side projects had really begun until he had fully healed.

They re released that album short after the debacle and that's what the majority got their hands on, the original pressing I have is pretty rare I believe. But you are not missing much, that intro is weird anyway, and the song Purity, yeah, it alright I guess.
Roadrunner wasn't the reason why they removed FLN and purity from the first press of the first album. the website that harboured the purity knight story sent a cease & desist to the band. the band was given the option to either pull the album off the shelves until they settled the case either in/out of court, or just remove the song off the album and continue to sell copies. this was right when the band was blowing up, and seeing as purity wasn't a single, it made no sense to slow their momentum. they eventually settled, and was subsequently put on the 10th anniversary repress, not FLN though, which might be because since they used actual voice clips, may be more of a grey area legally

One website traced it back to something like 1989. A later version of Shawn's high school band 'Heads On The Wall' is considered by some to be the birth of Slipknot.

No frail limb nursery was on the first version of the self titled album but they got sued for the sample they used and had to remove that and purity and replace it with me inside, my mam who picked up a cd from '99 when it came out and it has both songs on it.

@@americaisakillingname4416 Yes Anders is on the basement sessions, but the band's history (like I said depending how far back you go) goes further back than '92/'93. One website traced it back to something like 1989. A later version of Shawn's high school band 'Heads On The Wall' is considered by some to be the birth of Slipknot.

IIRC it was hinted that Joey was fired because of "drug use" which the other band members had thought because he never told them about his condition (and he didn't even know until years later). To them, it seemed like he was on drugs and I'm pretty sure that's a deal breaker since Paul died.

I'd have to find it again but I'm fairly sure Mushroomhead's vocalist Jeffrey Nothing actually recently was quoted saying that he believed Slipknot was made by Roadrunner records to try to copy slipknot's fame and style... I don't believe a word of it though, especially since it doesn't add up with facts we already know... and since some of the Mushroomhead guys are kinda jerks unfortunately so I don't really trust what they have to say... (used to be a big fan of both bands until I heard about the founding member of Mushroomhead calling the Black Live Matter movement a "terrorist organization" , having a confederate flag on one of their masks and standing by it when called out, and saying a bunch of other racist bs). But yeah, thanks for the video! Slipknot is awesome and this was really cool.

You know, if anyone should be mad about the masks, it should be GWAR, as they formed in 1984, and there's probably a band before them that had masks, so Mushroomhead should stfu about the masks, as they weren't nearly the first, also I love Slipknot, and Mushroomhead is good
there's an experimental band called The Residents that wore masks in the early 70s
The residents and gwar make pretty clearly different styles of music, but so does gwar and Slipknot so idk. Gwar had more commercial success so they might have unconsciously thought of the idea inspired by gwar
