It's very interesting to me that you're one of the more positive people about the battery life on this device. Many reviewer pages have it being "mediocre" and that people will want to reach for an outlet by 6 hours... but we can also charge it with a battery backup or rapid charging which gives it around 80% in about an hour or something like that (undervolting, power plans, and operating system changes notwithstanding). That's pretty decent for the amount of juice inside of the battery IMO. I bet a savvy user could mess around with it and bring the potential up a little bit more. Liked the review overall. I'm about to buy one of these very soon.
thanks for the comment. But for the battery you can tweak the settings (display, animation, background services) to get more battery juice out of the device. Apparently, I didn't do that. I just used the device out of the box. I believe I mentioned it during the video I took it with me when I was taking my track & field course over the weekend. That Saturday I started using it around 7:45AM and it was like 10% around 7:15ish PM. I was surfing, taking notes and watching Netflix (lol). The battery for me was great!
@@bjtechnewshd That's very good to hear, I'm happy it worked out that well for you. I look forward to doing a lot of tweaking on it anyways. I feel like reviewers generally are not putting in all of the battery details they could muster and just review it out-of-box then slap a rating on it. I suppose it's easier to give a general experience than something that is highly specific and specialized. It's good to have these discussions, though, because that generalization can be somewhat harmful to the opinions of the public when there are definitely users out there that will want to do some heavy modification... it's a ThinkPad after all, lol. Do you have any plans on running Linux or is it just a review unit and you might be limited to whatever they tell you? I forgot.
At 3:11 and 13:48 you mentioned how you disliked where the Ctrl key is relative to the Fn key. Well I got my X390 today and I can tell you that as a good touch typist @ 102 wpm and uses a keyboard day in and day out every day at work, I can honestly say the Ctrl key is just fine where it is. It feel perfectly natural and I did not have to go out of my way or feel out of norm in any way with the Ctrl key. So anyone out there considering this laptop, don't let the placement of the Ctrl key turn you away -- It's perfectly fine where it is.
Love the channel. Gave me inspiration to do some videos of my own. Nice to see some laptops that aren’t all about Macs. Appreciate what you do! Whats ur daily driver laptop?
Hello, I have another question about the laptop. I would like to know whether the laptop is also suitable for professional image processing? greetings Ennio
Hey! Just bought one of these snd pretty much everywhere it claims to have an 18 hour battery but i can't even get 6.5 hours. All I do is some RUclips Netflix and surfing. And I don't even use it in the most best performance. Everything else about it is great. If anyone could help!
too expensive for what it is, better off with x1 carbon or xps. X series is not the same anymore and starting price with 768 screen is a joke with customers

Can you not flip them in the bios anyway? You can on the x250 I believe.
It's 2024 and this machine still rocks. I am using a lightweight Linux distribution. Thank you for your review 😊
Bought this 2 weeks ago. Great laptop.
It also has a magnesium roll cage on the interior for lasting durability. Great video thanks....
Bought this today.

Hey can you compare this to the new x395? Thanks
I second this motion
@@klausasbjrnmadsen9528 x395 has no thunderbolt port.
The X395 isn't the newer version, its the AMD variant.
X395 is better than this with the crappy Intel hd graphics
Always choose amd ryzen over a shitty Intel cpu
X390 vs X280?..Performance?..Overall thoughts (except screen size)..?
Hello, I have another question about the laptop. I would like to know whether the laptop is also suitable for professional image processing? greetings Ennio
T490d or X1C same specs i7 , which is better and why According to your opinion? Thanks
Great job, thank you...
Can the X280 be upgraded to the X290 screen and bezel trim?
Nice review, i gotta say
How does it compared to x1 carbon?
This would be better value for money, i chose t490s personally
Please do a review of what's your main laptop?
Cool but is it better for travel than the XPS 13 9380?
The ThinkPad keyboard is far-and-away better, and the chassis is more durable. The XPS 13 is thinner and lighter. So it depends on what you value!
Ok, thanks.
So which one do you choose?

Is this the old dark black or the new lighter black?

I purchased mine today with the 10th generation chip for $1, 033 and it has all the bells and whistles.
It’s way better value than an X1c.
What the think with the coins...???
Dude, we make measurements is cm or even inches is fine. What is this nickel and dime system? 😂
How many nits is the display?
300 or 400 depending on configuration
