The pricing does deserve hate, maybe it would make sense for a basic version of P3R but the fact that you can buy Digital Premium Edition for 100$ and still not get Episode Aigis is crazy
Problem not in price -they broke mods with this update, specially the FEMC one, and they put 7gb update to main game even for those who not get Aigis DLC, like, WHY?
This is the kind of comment that’s the problem. By saying that you’re implying nothing that is $35 is worth it. You’re literally saying “I never played it, but it’s trash!” Also, why is being expensive a reason to hate it? If you don’t think it’s worth the money, don’t buy it. Why would you hate it just because it exists? Atlus isn’t forcing you to buy it. If you play it and don’t like it and don’t think it’s worth the money, your comment is justified, but just whining about it being too expensive is pointless.
I also want to say that the only real issue is the pricing model. I'm confident that there would be less hate for Episode Aigis if it was available as a standalone DLC at a lower price, rather than tied to BGM and costumes that not everyone even wants. Also, if the entire pass was automatically granted to Digital Premium/Aigis Edition owners, since they already spent $100/$200 on the game. I've seen some complaints about the grind, but that's less of an issue in my personal opinion.
Just like in Persona 3 FES, a mainline SMT fan will fucking adore it, even more so here as the answer even as a SMT fan was… let’s just say it had its issues. Yeah if you play these games for the gameplay (of which I am firmly in the camp of) this is a damn dream come true!
@@necrotic256 To be fair, just the base game without any DLC or additions, which is in sale right now, by the way, is a full game and a masterpiece if you ask me
@@sebascastle2670if you ask me the game is kinda mid with changes in the lyrics of the theme music which some sounding a bit underwhelming than in the original, not including the female version of the main character practically Atlus trying to erase her, the game being too easy especially the final boss is very disappointing and why is the animation in this game so…….dull unlike in the original. So, if you ask me the game is kinda mid.
@@sebascastle2670hell nah. $70 for a remake that doesn’t even include content from the base game? I’m not even talking about previous versions? Just base p3. They removed content, gameplay mechanics, and etc just to make it Persona 5 lite with its gameplay changes including the difficulty.
@@RaspyChIDK but Reload is SIGNIFICANTLY harder than P5R. Unlike in P5R I can't solo the game with the default Persona and OKO every enemy with a single weakness like I can in P5R. P3R is about the same difficulty as P4G, not P5R.
I think 70% of Persona fans bought Episode Aigis even with the high price. it's Freaking Aigis at the end of the day, everything with Aigis sells well, she's just that popular. Side note: It's free on game pass so I think there are a lot of people who have played episode aigis there. People say you should never put games on game pass because no one is going to buy their games on xbox because it's free game pass, but remember Microsoft pays money for the third party games it's easy and guaranteed money for atlus
Theres many reasons the DLC is mostly negative on steam reviews - people bought the aegis 130 edition assuming it came with dlc - the dlc cant be bought seperatly grom the bgm and outfits - the price For 35 euro you can get like p3p and p4g at the same time heck on cdkeys you can even preorder metaphor for 10 eutro extra which are all 100+ hour journeys
+ they didn't announce additional DLCs when the game first got released so people were expecting that when you buy aigis edition, you get the full package
I like it since it’s a more accessible version of The Answer which is nice since it’s a canonical event that happens and all we had to experience it was Persona 3 FES which isn’t even up for purchase anymore. The only part I didn’t like was the price of the base game and the dlc prices. It feels weird that you could buy Persona 5 Royal and get more value from it compared to Persona 3 Reload. I say the dlc is worth it if your invested with the characters and want to experience more of them.
Episode Aigis by itself does not deserve the hate. The $35 price tag most certainly does. If it was at most $15, I'd say it's more understandable. The only reason why I think the expansion pass is at that price is because of the useless costumes and extra tracks from previous months.
They shouldnt have forced us to buy the whole pass for $35 instead let us buy it separately for $15-$20 That wouldve fixed all the negativity around the price
OMG This is exactly what I was just saying to another person in the comments Iike if they had the original price of the main game at 19.99 like P3P and P4G on Xbox and episode Aigis at around like 5.99 the game would be much getting scores of around pretty good or great and also from what I’m also been seeing if they had kept the reload cutscenes like how the og is but with the new animation style they’d probably get higher ratings then that (from what I’ve heard a majority of people are for some weird reason going ape shit because atlus didn’t keep that one scene where shadow Makoto turns into a Skelton isn’t here which I can kinda understand but still)
It’s the same story as it used to be, so veterans can appreciate the compendium, A LITTLE social elements to remove the monotony of grinding, and QoL improvements. The only thing not to like is the price, but atlus knows how much people love Persona now so they know you’ll buy it 😂 I did even after spending over $200 on the collectors edition
The price is definitely my biggest issue with this. For $40, they could've also added the femc in the expansion. Whatever. I'll just buy this when it goes on sale 😂
I aint paying that price for content I do not care about (the velvet costume and some persona 4 soundtracks).... i just want the goddamn Episode Aigis expansion. The fact that the expansion is not sold separately pisses me off.
The Price is the real issue. If they at least had The Answers DLC as seperated from the explanation pack then It wouldn't got a lot of Hate. But this is Atlus we're talking about. This is why you never buy their games Day 1.
i will never understand persona fans. Even back in FES people hated 'the answer' And when P3R got announced and there was no sign of the answer yet people were pissed its not there and now that its here people still hate it. Make you're damn mind up the price tag i understand but i mean about the gameplay itself i don't understand
I got the premium/100 bucks version of P3R and I don’t get episode signs as part of it. I think the hate is from people in that situation. 135 dollars for what’s basically FES is infuriating imo so yeah I agree with the steam rating bc the comments all say the same thing
I just finished it and all I can say is, "Well at least Atlus actually sold us this as DLC instead of just rereleasing Persona 3 as a special edition with it included in"
This is the reason why I didn't buy SMT Vengeance even though many already said it was a better game than vanilla SMT V. Back when SMT V released, I grinded the hell out of it, created perfect Demons but then SMT Vengeance released and all my progress just became irrelevant.
The odd thing is that they cut voice lines in dorm activities. Sure it's normal for Persona compared to Reload having everything voiced but they literally have every sound effect for Koromaru they could ever need. Yet way too often doggo will be silent when there's already a sound effect that would work. This and missing BGM/Costume content from what Royal offered gives the impression that they were on a shoestring budget which is weird for an expansion that cost the consumer half the price of the game.
shrinkflation is wild… I think everything DLC should just be added to the base game unless they need more time to create and finish it after game launch. I like seeing Persona videos despite not having played a single game and I do own a couple, it’s interesting seeing people’s thoughts/takes and opinions
@@rafaelacash7 true. They probably were developing during the crazy yen to USD exchange. The funny thing is it still is hard to complain for a game that I have 55 hours in the Episode Aigis alone.
P3R has the most fun and flashy combat of any turn based RPG I've played, and the dungeon crawling does not get old unlike base P3, which make The Answer a fun game instead of a chore to slog through and the general improvements of The Answer from the storytelling to the MUCH improved exp system on top of a great epilogue to one of the best stories in any game peroid I agree that this should have been included with the base game, or a free addon. 35 hours give or take of more content for a great narrative wrap-up and extension for what is the most well-rounded and best persona game ever (keeping EVERY aspect of the game in mind) if the DLC was like 20$ it would've been okay, but 35$ is a bit steep (Thank you gamepass)
I'm unable to say anything about the game itself since I don't have Reload. But I would like to say that I think Episode Aigis should at least be cheaper. Mainly because Episode Aigis isn't really a new story, maybe around $20 or $25 would've been better for everyone? At least people seem to be enjoying it. And great video btw!
I know I’m in the minority where I love the dungeon crawling. Especially with the heartless difficulty it’s super fun. And the Abyss level designs themselves are really pretty. I loved it and thought it was worth my money. Just my two cents.
Slowly but surely atlus has been improving the way it hands out expansions, previously we’d have to wait 2 years for a 90$+ rerelease to play all the new content, I’d rather this than the alternative.
you miss the big issue, its the PRICE. Even though i got it for free on game pass ultimate, the fact that this wasn't INCLUDED on deluxe edition is really SCAMMY. which was 100 dollars, the fact you paid 100 bucks + 30 dollars and you still didn't get this dlc is a huge no no when the og game. FES, had the og persona 3 with more features and a extra 30 hour story content for only 40 bucks on launch is a huge huge red flag, currently persona 3 reload is on sell for 40 bucks plus 30 bucks which is 70 dollars for the complete game, just crazy. Most of those negitve reviews were from people who got MAD because they paid so much just to pay another 35 bucks for a dlc that should have been included for free. ANNNNND, game articles talked about it too. This back lash has existed since the since the announcement of the DLC, not just today since you have to remember this dlc was released 4 months ago and it included 3 other items which are so awful, new costumes and music tracks... thats it. Even tough i played the game for FREE with game pass and got 100%, the game is legit deserving of its criticism since the DLC is a bore to go through since the combat really can't hold on by itself for a 30 hour game. I'm happy that people are actually using there brain than praising atlus, again no one is hating on the story. Just the price, the fact they didn;t bother to add more combat mechanics and barely new dungeons is awful. I would just suggestion people watching someone play the og game which in my option had better visuals or watching someone play through the dlc. Just happy to see everyone agrees that this dlc is a huge flop. (again, love the dlc, played through it and 100% it just like the og game. but i can't recommend it unless if its 10 bucks)
As an XBOX player, price never really affected me because I just got the Game Pass. But I can understand the pain if you're playing on playstation and PC.
@@gamerbeast3616did you need see when bro said it was 100 bucks + 30 dollars or 35 dollars for the game itself and the episode Aigis dlc you have to be getting 1k a day or something to say it’s not that much you getting that bag ong lol if the base game was as much as P4G And P3P on Xbox (19.99$) and the dlc was 5.99$ I feel like episode aigis wouldve gotten a way wayyy larger and massive good rating then it having a negative rating them making you pay that much is just a spit in the face to P3R because I love All Of the persona games even if i haven’t finish or played all of them (I actually have just have finished all the persona games that are available to me except P4G because it was kinda boring to me sorry i just haven’t had thechance to finish episode aigis yet) so yeah they def need to turn down the price down by a large margin on steam PS4 And PC And XBOX! because guess what? Eventually us Xbox players will have to do the same as PS4 And PC Players to keep playing it (I mean at least you’ll keep all your progress for the game but still) so yeah I understand
People in these comments, imagine spending 100$ not to get this. Even people who payed 200$ for collectors, this doesn't even come with that version either.
@@tur-tl-es you are very foolish to think that the dlc wasnt in development during reloads development or talked about, do you know anything about game design?
Imo the issue is not that Atlus pushes out DLC, I'd rather have that than re-releases, but that this is still a remake and Episode Aigis is recycled content. Having to pay $105\105€ for a remake of a game that was $30/30€ when it first released is a bit extreme. That being said I now have 160h in P3R in total so personally I didn't really mind the price and I share a similar sentiment as you do (4:20) about hating how P3 portrayed its ending as something beautiful while ignoring how all hell will break loose here mere hours after the ending we saw. By showing the grief the cast has and how they overcome it, Episode Aigis is giving proper closure to the story and therefore I'm glad have played it
This is an issue of lack of popularity of the genre and time frame. Atlus already made Japan pay for multiple games for the persona and smt3 and raidou games. You are getting the subsidized version of the game because few people would buy such a game multiple times in 2007 outside of Japan. Now the game is popular and was wholly remade it’s more or less a new globally simultaneous release of a game. A much different scenario.
I think I know why the DLC costs $40. When you take a look at the Atlus SEA page, there is an incident where they released CN versions to all the English speaking countries in Southeast Asia (Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam, etc.) Guess what happened to all the CN ver. P3R games? Yes that's what you call a Profit Loss.
Also don't forget daddy atlus gave away FREE digital copy of P3R to all those affected in SEA. This means I got a replacement English physical copy of P3R of course and my free P3R digital code? I gave it to my friend for free
I bought it. I actually never played the original only reload so for me this was a totally new experience. I loved the story of episode Aigis just not how they went about it story wise and how it went into more depth about the characters like about junpei and his struggles but i was not a fan of how they went about it gameplay wise with the abyss of time. honestly there are 3 changes i probably would have made 1. reduce the amount of floors in some of the later dungeons towards the end it felt really dragged out. 2. allow you to use your old compendium regardless of level as long as you have the money. because it takes a while to get the money for a level 99 persona and because they level gated it i could never use my best personas which sucks because i did a lot work to get every persona in p3 reload and it would make the game feel way faster and more fun. 3. the price. the price just doesnt feel like a 35 dollar price tag maybe 20 id say wait for a discount on it because for what they give you its not worth 35
I got the game for free so the DLC was not an issue for me but locking the added story to a bundle is pretty scummy especially when FES in the past added Episode Aigis for free. That all said I'll thumbs it up I already paid no point bishing about it lol
Reload is my favorite game ever and adding back The Answer makes it even better. Wish people wouldn’t hate on it, especially considering the dlc will be on sale extremely quickly (I find base P3R on sale for $40 already lol)
i had persona 3 reload on game pass and i think i could play episode aegis on gamepass as well, just...im bothered on why they made it in the first place? p3's ending was beautiful, i can admit i shed a tear or two when watching it for the first time and thought it was a perfect ending there...Then learning about the answer and its like, guess what? HES DEAD! and he aint ever coming back. leaves a bad taste in my month tbh
Well, let me explain if you know anything about P3 then you know that the biggest defining aspect of that game is it's characters as they define everything Makoto does and give meaning to his journey. They are what drives his actions but they are also the ones left behind to deal with what pain. To put it simply, your goal is to help them face their own grief and loss which is everything p3 is about.
Yes, it's a dlc when it originally wasn't, it was more something like the new content in Pokemon Crystal/Emerald/Platinum etc Not only that but when Atlus first announced the game, they said there wouldn't be Episode Aigis because "they wanted to replicate the original experience", which is a big fat lie to fool people into buying an incomplete story when they already had Episode Aigis planned This thing deserves every bit of the hate it gets
The original Episode Aigis was literally a DLC in the Japanese release Not to mention buying the same game again, just with a "Royal" coat of paint, is worse than selling a pricey DLC
My favorite part of Persona 3 was the daytime stuff and I slogged through the dungeon crawling to get to the parts I liked. This DLC was 95% dungeon crawling. I still liked the DLC, but man, I wish I could have done some social links as Aigis.
In my opinion, Episode Aigis should have been in the base game of Reload, due to the high price of the og game. Not to mention that a majority of people don't like Reload as it is because of how the game feels far too similar to Persona 5. If the DLC pack was free, it would have definitely contributed a more positive response to the game as a whole
The price is certainly an issue. I was not happy at all that I had to buy extra junk with it just to get the real content. Granted, I picked up the base game on sale to begin with, so it hurts a little less. It's still not okay though. However, when I played The Answer on FES, I fully gave up halfway through and just watched the cutscenes online. The original's forced high difficulty, the missing Persona Compendium, all on top of the whole game not having full party control, made it a miserable experience. This DLC fixes *all of that*. I actually played it all the way through on Reload, and I'm glad I did.
I wonder if the game being on Game Pass prompted the high price tag on the DLC. Developers have to make their money back some way, and Game Pass is a somewhat cheap subscription service split across hundreds of games. When you're done with a game, you can just delete it and move on. The streaming model sounds nice, but you own nothing, and the subscription service controls everything. Additionally, it is not sustainable financially, especially in the 2020s economy, unless you either up the price or add commercials, like Netflix and MAX are doing.
You do know Microsoft paid Sega/Atlus to put the game on Gamepass right? They didn’t do it out of the kindness of their heart. They made money before anyone even purchased it.
Ye no, it’s clear that Altus is experimenting with P3 reload to see if they can make money off the DLC compared to rereleasing a new version of the game with ‘the answer’
i got it thanks to xbox gamepass so for me its good on the price because i dont really care getting the game for only 1 month its a really nice dlc i havent played the old version
it hurts to see it like this since persona IPS is one of the games that introduce me to well, GAMES! it sucks that this good game is being ruined by greed ...
[See More contains spoilers] I personally believe that for each dollar a game costs, should be 1 hour of fun. I completed this game in about 40 hours (I did a lot of Persona Fusing towards the end) I don't know how many hours the dungeon crawling took, but I don't think it would reach the 35$ I spent on it. The additional music and Velvet Room outfits don't help it cause I'd always end up forgetting about them, and you don't even get that much music or outfits compared to Persona 5. I got so bored of the dungeon crawling, I just turned on Safe Mode and fought the Reaper until I was Level 99 so that I could rush through the dungeons, and then start caring about Personas in the late game. I did enjoy the story bits after the dungeon crawling the the side interactions with characters, and the fact that you can get every Persona including Orpheus Telos. Although I am disappointed that the side interactions weren't voiced, when Persona 3 Reload voiced all of their side interactions with characters. Spoilers ahead Also I didn't really like the final boss of this game, the design is very meh, the fight is hit it until you win with no character dialogue, and the final boss theme didn't feel like a final boss theme. The thing Nyx does better is the great design, the multiple phases with dialogue that meant something, and "The Battle for Everyone's Souls" is full of hype. Erebus just felt like a slightly tough boring enemy. The fights between your party members was much more interesting than Erebus, but they still felt off. The fact that they only use their 1st Theurgy (outside of Koromaru) was kinda disappointing, I was really hoping Junpei would use his Fire Theurgy as it felt more serious of an attack, and it's not like they don't give bosses with a lot of HP skills to fully heal. Overall, this DLC should've been 15-20 dollars or include all the other DLC Personas to justify it's 35$ price
$40 for a 30+ hour expansion is totally fair. Thats longer than some $70 games. PLUS it's included in gamepass PC. So for $25, you can play the full game and the DLC. Then cancel. People just love to hate on everything now a days. a
If the PC port actually work for me and not crash in an unreal engine error that hasn't been fixed in 7 months i would probably enjoy it. (It has nothing to do with my specs i may not have the best ones but even people with really good graphics cards have that error) If anyone here knows a solution for that glitch that would be greatly appreciated.
4/10 - finished it tomorrow and after 2/3 of the game i lowered the difficult from normal to the easiest one as the dungeon where becoming a slog and an obstacle before juicy story moments. I love the cast and the resolution to Reload story but if it wasn't on Game Pass I wouldn't bother buying it, especially for that price.
The Answer is also my favorite part of Persona 3 and I wouldn’t love the game the same way I do today without it so I’m happy to hear someone who feel the same as me :) I also asked Atlus for a remake of it last year in their annual survey when they said it wouldn’t be included in Reload so yeah I didn’t mind spending 35$ since I asked for it , would have been hypocritical on my part if I didn’t buy it. I plan to buy it again if it ever comes to the Switch 2 in the future. I agree with you that the hate is not deserved especially since Atlus took time and efforts (and money) to remake it for the fans like me who wanted the epilogue , so no matter what I’ll always be grateful to them.
it's people out here why Atlus re-released p5r for ps5 and there wasn't an upgrade for free or at least $10. Episode Aigis should have been in the main game, but no Atlus on that give me money time. Be careful Atlus might turn into Ubisoft/EA!
I loved P3- played it for the first time via reload and it's my favorite game now. I totally agree about the 'dungeon burnout' inbetween story bits. All in all I really liked the DLC, but I also feel like the DLC is only really 'worth it' for people who were super into P3. it adds some neat things, but the main story was entirely self-contained and complete on its own, too, and having to do another hundred floors of not-tartarus isn't gonna be appealing to most people.
I got the game and dlc with gamepass, but I would’ve absolutely paid full price for it. Persona 3 reload and episode aigis was just a wonderful experience all around. It’s a shame to see the dlc get mostly negative reviews on steam, but I can understand why people are reviewing it that way even if I disagree with them.
Buy it full price then, gamepass apologist. The pricing and the Ultimate Edition scam did by Atlus are scummy. Other than that no one complains about the game.
@@shuraamano I will when it goes off of game pass like I did with p5. I know I’ll be revisiting this game for many years to come, it truly was amazing to me haha.
Episode Aigis for most of it's runtime feels like filler. Had the amount of dungeon-crawling been halved it would be a massive improvement and the asset re-use wouldn't be so jarring.
I got this expansion for free on xbox, dont ask me how because i dont know, just checked my notifications on the xbox app on pc and saw i could reedem it for free so i took it, i just got to buy the main game, the good thing is that it is on sale at the moment for 45 dollars for the deluxe edition, also with the play anywhere option its perfect for play it on the go on my ally and continue it on console at home
What gamepass you have? Ive seen others claim this but I didn’t got anything lol probably watching the story as a movie in youtube cause im not paying 40$
I was hesitant to buy the expansion pass full price so thankfully because I played on PC I instead bought PC gamepass for only £1. For that price, it's bascially a necessary addition to the base game. For 30 though? 3/5 of the price of the base game for 70% combat and some story additions right at the very end? Definitely wait for sale
I think $20 would have been way more understandable AND it should’ve been included in the deluxe editions of P3R. I’m at the very end of the dlc and I really like it and it was worth it for me. But it’s definitely a battle dlc, so if you primarily like the day sim part of p3r you won’t like Episode Aigis.
Honestly, I beat it. Took me 24 hours (inlcuding one-turning joker, and accidentally breaking apart the game again). The price did not bother me really, because it's technically a second game you get. The DLC? It was amazing. Was it better than the FES original? Of course. It's just an upgrade of The Answer.
The second it goes on sale, I'll buy it. I have played the Answer already, so I'm not in any rush in this particular instance; even still, if I hadn't played the Answer already, I would like to think that I would still take the same approach. I love Persona, I generally enjoy most of what Atlus makes, and I would never really say no to more of it. However, $35 on top of the $70 I already paid is not really ok. If they dropped the price even just $10, I'd bet it would be doing far better commercially and critically. If I remember correctly, most people were actually kinda chill with the announcement that the Answer would be adapted for Reload in the form of DLC; it was only once they revealed the insane price that the review bombing began.
@@gamerbeast3616 As someone who payed for the full deluxe edition before the game released, it does. They did all fans dirty. It deserves the hate not for story, but for Sega and Atlus greed.
Yes. I paid for the aigis collectors edition edition and they’re asking $35 for a a dlc that’s inflated with costumes and music? Also doesn’t help that the base game is $70 for a remake that isn’t really faithful and actually has removed content. F Atlus
If you people are happy for Episode Aigis, good for you, genuinely. But please, stop dickriding Atlus when people say that 35 dollars is a scummy price. IT IS SCUMMY. I'm not saying that Episode Aigis should have been day one, but the fact that it isn't included in the Ultimate edition (where before in the steam page it said it would contain all the dlcs and then changed to "most" of dlcs) is a really bad marketing decision This type of bullshit doesn't deserve to defended, you can like Episode Aigis and that's fine, but you can't tell me that this isn't a stupid decision
im just so conflicted on ep aigis. i wanted them to do more but at the same time i cant really think about what to improve other than the p3r defaults. as it stands due to all of reloads chances its technically better, but still
I feel as though that both the expectations of Reload and disappointment of those expectations greatly enhance the negativity towards P3R. Without any way to play the original FES, there is no modern port to experience the original Persona 3 and The Answer. The port of Portable was abysmal (haven’t looked at it since launch so idk if they fixed the pressing issues with that) and was the only way to play the Female Protag with the her own respective social links. People wanted a definitive way to play Persona 3 and having to pay $105 (without tax) to experience an imitation of P3fes just added to that fire of disappointment. If there was already an old version of P3 that included The Journey and The Answer, then why not remake that in its entirety alongside all the addons in Reload? Persona 5 Royal sold for $60 with the added epilogue that greatly enhanced the story. To remake P3 without adding its own epilogue for $10 more initially only to add $35 bucks more for the actual epilogue is absurd. That’s not even talking about Episode Aigis as a remake of The Answer. I could go on and on but I’m not here to spread hate, only disappointment of what could have been.
I feel like I should add that I enjoyed P3R even at its price tag of $70. It was my dream to see a modernized version of the base P3 and I got that personally. It’s just unfortunate how they approached a beloved game with these business practices.
I havent watched the video yet. So im playing persona 3 reload(my first persona) on gamepass, i just wanna know if its worth it to only play basegame, because i dont like buying dlc on xbox app(im on pc). Im sure ill get it eventually when its on a decent sale on steam, kinda upset its not like a Persona 3 royal or something so its just more expensive for no reason. The early bits of this game is pretty rough ngl, my friend told me thats just how p3 is but man, i feel like nothing has happened, i really love the music and the artstyle but yeah. sorry for yapping lmao
@@fakename1474 its free with ultimate, i suppose i can upgrade to ultimate for the dlc. Gamepass got a price raise and I'm still on the old one so I'm scared to change it incase I get put on normal sub price now lmao
Atlus did a big goof with the "all DLC" package, but we're gonna ignore that and complain about the price instead. That'll really teach 'em... that Persona fans hate DLC because we're poor. I'm sure there was something more important Atlus could've learned, like proper planning, marketing, and damage control, but nah.
They should price it 70 bucks WITH the DLC. The base game itself is too much imho. I know its a remake and everything but if there was a version before that included both for 60 bucks idk why they need to nickle and dime the fanbase to get the full story of the game. Also the lack of fem protagonist is stupid too. 110 bucks for the game is outrageous.
the i have a question regarding setting a statement... as part of the community, how else are you supposed to show atlas, that we want the extra content and are willing to pay for it but we are not okay with how they are charging for it? the stated in the ultimate edition (100 bucks), that all further dlc Content would be in the package... but after buying said package, the "season pass" is not included, so people who bought it would have to pay 30 to 40 bucks more that is just plain greed displayed here and the only reason for the negative reviews sure some idiots are still going on about the fact that kotone isnt in reload but mainly this greed for more money being displayed is the reason we bombarded it with negative reviews to show that this is just not okay i get that this would incentivise us not wanting dlc but common sense and one look at the reviews (listening to your audience) would tell you a whole other story to begin with... at least at the top of my head there is no other way to set a mark here so the future could be different the DLC is an amazing remake of the answer for what it is and you can tell that a lot of work and love as well as thought has been put into it... it is good but the context surrounding the game is just so toxic that it is no wonder that people are upset and try to leave a message for atlas this way
Releasing a $35 DLC to finish the story of a $70 game. Yeah uhh huh. Acting like people shouldn't review bomb for bad business practices is an extremely out of touch take. There is basically no other way for people to get company's attentions these days. "Just vote with your wallet and move on" is such a failed idea except in the most extreme cases. If review bombing does lead Atlus to believe people don't want these DLCs like you claim, then good honestly, one more anti consumer practice gone.
I’m not buying this out of spite and I hope I’m not the only one. The price is craaaazy. And shovelling the BGM + costumes. Like get outta here man. It’s so predatory

After playing through Episode Aigis I honestly believe that most of the hate isn’t warranted. I agree with the point that it should be sold separately from the DLC’s in the expansion pass and I some what understand that people are upset about it not being included with the premium version of the game; However as far as I can tell from looking at both the steam page and PlayStation store is that it states it includes the DLC pack which states what DLC’s are included with that edition so if a person buys it they are aware that it isn’t being included. Which leads to what I believe is the main problem which isn’t just a problem for P3R but gaming in general are the terms DLC and Expansion meaning two different things nowadays. Episode Aigis is considered a Expansion to P3R not a DLC and it’s the wording that is confusing people as we are so use to DLC and Expansion meaning the same thing. Using Fromsoft games as an example Dark Souls 3 calls its extra content, The Ringed City and Ashes of Ariendel, DLC while Elden Ring calls Shadow of The Erdtree (SotE) an expansion, not a DLC. DLC now is used to describe more micro transactiony additions to games like the costumes and music in P3R. And whether or not it is worth the full price of the expansion pass is more of a subjective thing as people value stuff like this differently from others. Like how some people only think games are worth their value if they get a hour out of every dollar spent on the game. The story and gameplay of Episode Aigis can be considered to be worth the price of it or not depending on how the person who buys it likes the content and how impactful it is to the individual. An example is with my experience with SotE which I believe wasn’t worth price of the expansion for me with the painfully mundane and bad experience I had with it, but I absolutely loved Episode Aigis for my entire playthrough I had and felt it was worth the price. And mindlessly review bombing it isn’t going to change things and will most likely deter Altus from considering making a FemC expansion or expansions like this in general. If you don’t like it then make genuine criticisms of the expansion itself instead of mindlessly review bombing it for just the price. Especially with how inflation has been hitting the gaming industry as a whole with prices being raised for most games and their extra content. With this being said I’m not saying everyone who is leaving a negative review is just mindlessly doing that. It does make me afraid if Atlus were to do a FemC expansion how it would be received as it would most likely cost as much as the base game with how much it changes and how expensive it would be to make.
I remember playing The Answer and not enjoying it so I never bought this but the misleading fans with the bundles (they paid around $40 extra and didn't get the $30 DLC with it,) the forced purchase of other DLCs *and* the steep price relative to the content you get is 100% a fair criticism for a negative review. I can compare it to a DLC of a similar nature, XC3's DLC. You pay $30 more [same price as EA] for: challenge mode, 2 new heroes (equivalent to Personas for simplicities sake) AND a new, shorter game all under the same price tag. I STILL don't think XC3's is worth it, personally but it's much more you get than with EA. I'm sorry but saying the game doesn't deserve criticism because it's not criticism you agree with is blatant bias towards ATLUS here.

The pricing does deserve hate, maybe it would make sense for a basic version of P3R but the fact that you can buy Digital Premium Edition for 100$ and still not get Episode Aigis is crazy

Theres many reasons the DLC is mostly negative on steam reviews
- people bought the aegis 130 edition assuming it came with dlc
- the dlc cant be bought seperatly grom the bgm and outfits
- the price
For 35 euro you can get like p3p and p4g at the same time heck on cdkeys you can even preorder metaphor for 10 eutro extra which are all 100+ hour journeys
Reminds me of the good ol days when people hated The Answer lmao
Episode Aigis by itself does not deserve the hate. The $35 price tag most certainly does. If it was at most $15, I'd say it's more understandable. The only reason why I think the expansion pass is at that price is because of the useless costumes and extra tracks from previous months.
The problem is bad storytelling, yeah price is still too much but the small between original and remake is what it makes really bad
DLC content is good, the only problem is that price.
They shouldnt have forced us to buy the whole pass for $35 instead let us buy it separately for $15-$20
That wouldve fixed all the negativity around the price
OMG This is exactly what I was just saying to another person in the comments Iike if they had the original price of the main game at 19.99 like P3P and P4G on Xbox and episode Aigis at around like 5.99 the game would be much getting scores of around pretty good or great and also from what I’m also been seeing if they had kept the reload cutscenes like how the og is but with the new animation style they’d probably get higher ratings then that (from what I’ve heard a majority of people are for some weird reason going ape shit because atlus didn’t keep that one scene where shadow Makoto turns into a Skelton isn’t here which I can kinda understand but still)
The price deserve the hate alright. Imagine buying a $200 Aigis edition WITHOUT Episode Aigis
I think if you don't buy the Special Premium Deluxe Ultimate Edition, you will not hate it. Especially if you receive it with review code.

Going to wait for the inevidible "Persona 3 Reload Definitive Edition" on Switch 2 that includes all DLC+FemC route before I try out Episode Aigis.

Back when SMT V released, I grinded the hell out of it, created perfect Demons but then SMT Vengeance released and all my progress just became irrelevant.
@@Navue-cn2tx and that was the reason I didn't buy Persona 5 Royal until there was a big discount
@@rafaelacash7 true. They probably were developing during the crazy yen to USD exchange. The funny thing is it still is hard to complain for a game that I have 55 hours in the Episode Aigis alone.
P3R has the most fun and flashy combat of any turn based RPG I've played, and the dungeon crawling does not get old unlike base P3, which make The Answer a fun game instead of a chore to slog through and the general improvements of The Answer from the storytelling to the MUCH improved exp system on top of a great epilogue to one of the best stories in any game peroid
I agree that this should have been included with the base game, or a free addon. 35 hours give or take of more content for a great narrative wrap-up and extension for what is the most well-rounded and best persona game ever (keeping EVERY aspect of the game in mind) if the DLC was like 20$ it would've been okay, but 35$ is a bit steep (Thank you gamepass)
Spending over 100$ for a single player game is crazy
+ Atlus did additional manufacturing costs because they re-released P3R games in SEA with the proper english version
I loved the story of episode Aigis just not how they went about it story wise and how it went into more depth about the characters like about junpei and his struggles but i was not a fan of how they went about it gameplay wise with the abyss of time. honestly there are 3 changes i probably would have made
1. reduce the amount of floors in some of the later dungeons towards the end it felt really dragged out.
2. allow you to use your old compendium regardless of level as long as you have the money. because it takes a while to get the money for a level 99 persona and because they level gated it i could never use my best personas which sucks because i did a lot work to get every persona in p3 reload and it would make the game feel way faster and more fun.
3. the price. the price just doesnt feel like a 35 dollar price tag maybe 20 id say wait for a discount on it because for what they give you its not worth 35

HES DEAD! and he aint ever coming back. leaves a bad taste in my month tbh
Well, let me explain if you know anything about P3 then you know that the biggest defining aspect of that game is it's characters as they define everything Makoto does and give meaning to his journey. They are what drives his actions but they are also the ones left behind to deal with what pain. To put it simply, your goal is to help them face their own grief and loss which is everything p3 is about.
even without the dlc what happens to him is that he dies, so dlc or not he would've been dead
Yes, it's a dlc when it originally wasn't, it was more something like the new content in Pokemon Crystal/Emerald/Platinum etc
Not only that but when Atlus first announced the game, they said there wouldn't be Episode Aigis because "they wanted to replicate the original experience", which is a big fat lie to fool people into buying an incomplete story when they already had Episode Aigis planned

Gameplay is alright but the price isn't. Simple 😅

Price is fine
The price is certainly an issue. I was not happy at all that I had to buy extra junk with it just to get the real content. Granted, I picked up the base game on sale to begin with, so it hurts a little less. It's still not okay though. However, when I played The Answer on FES, I fully gave up halfway through and just watched the cutscenes online. The original's forced high difficulty, the missing Persona Compendium, all on top of the whole game not having full party control, made it a miserable experience. This DLC fixes *all of that*. I actually played it all the way through on Reload, and I'm glad I did.
It’s actually wild Atlus gave y’all the review code. That’s rad.
the price is dumb, actual content i absolutely adored
Ye no, it’s clear that Altus is experimenting with P3 reload to see if they can make money off the DLC compared to rereleasing a new version of the game with ‘the answer’

it hurts to see it like this since persona IPS is one of the games that introduce me to well, GAMES! it sucks that this good game is being ruined by greed ...
I do hate how it's a DLC and how Reload screwed some things up.
[See More contains spoilers]
I personally believe that for each dollar a game costs, should be 1 hour of fun. I completed this game in about 40 hours (I did a lot of Persona Fusing towards the end)
I don't know how many hours the dungeon crawling took, but I don't think it would reach the 35$ I spent on it.
Spoilers ahead
Also I didn't really like the final boss of this game, the design is very meh, the fight is hit it until you win with no character dialogue, and the final boss theme didn't feel like a final boss theme.
People just love to hate on everything now a days. a
???? It’s… 35 dollars tho…?
Nah man we should vote with our wallets. Atlus is gonna milk its playerbase for upcoming $40 DLCs on their games going forward unless we do something.
@@Navue-cn2tx if the dlc is quality, then it's fine. And this one is quality.
If the PC port actually work for me and not crash in an unreal engine error that hasn't been fixed in 7 months i would probably enjoy it.
(It has nothing to do with my specs i may not have the best ones but even people with really good graphics cards have that error)
If anyone here knows a solution for that glitch that would be greatly appreciated.
My favorite DPC ever, and I've played Old Hunters
I genuinely think the fans need something to hate, but they just can't hate on Reload too hard
Im just upset the DLC doesn't come with the soundtrack for their little side application for the soundtrack.
it's people out here why Atlus re-released p5r for ps5 and there wasn't an upgrade for free or at least $10.
Gawk gawk gawk mr atlus you taste so gooooood
@@RaspyCh I do sound a bit like that haha, but I said my honest opinion on the matter.
Im more wondering how ppl are justifying the price since FES had it day 1 with other gameplay additions. This is the KH3 re:mind all over again.
Another decade of watching the cutscenes online lol
Honestly, I beat it. Took me 24 hours (inlcuding one-turning joker, and accidentally breaking apart the game again). The price did not bother me really, because it's technically a second game you get. The DLC? It was amazing. Was it better than the FES original? Of course. It's just an upgrade of The Answer.
haha... these guys getting mad for 30 bucks they dont know what is paying 130 here in Brazil
I have finish The Answer and it was a satisfying ending. I never played the original answer so there was a reason to buy it.
Dlc took me about 25 hours. It's pretty lengthy. That does help justify the cost quite a bit imo
I clicked because of persona and stayed because of the Avatar 😂❤️
Based 😎
*hugs aigis from the thumbnail I don't like seeing her sad*
Yes. Next question.
does not deserve the hate
I'm not saying that Episode Aigis should have been day one, but the fact that it isn't included in the Ultimate edition (where before in the steam page it said it would contain all the dlcs and then changed to "most" of dlcs) is a really bad marketing decision
This type of bullshit doesn't deserve to defended, you can like Episode Aigis and that's fine, but you can't tell me that this isn't a stupid decision
im just so conflicted on ep aigis. i wanted them to do more but at the same time i cant really think about what to improve other than the p3r defaults. as it stands due to all of reloads chances its technically better, but still
I feel as though that both the expectations of Reload and disappointment of those expectations greatly enhance the negativity towards P3R.
It's the best if you got it through gamepass and if you're new to the franchise. But, if you're not a fan of dungeon crawling, then it's not for you.
Played it on game pass really likes it. Though seeing the whole price for the game…..I understand why people are pisses
You should get it for free with gamepass
If I recall episode aigis is free for game pass
110 bucks for the game is outrageous.
the i have a question regarding setting a statement...
as part of the community, how else are you supposed to show atlas, that we want the extra content and are willing to pay for it but we are not okay with how they are charging for it?
the stated in the ultimate edition (100 bucks), that all further dlc Content would be in the package... but after buying said package, the "season pass" is not included, so people who bought it would have to pay 30 to 40 bucks more
that is just plain greed displayed here and the only reason for the negative reviews
sure some idiots are still going on about the fact that kotone isnt in reload but mainly this greed for more money being displayed is the reason we bombarded it with negative reviews to show that this is just not okay
i get that this would incentivise us not wanting dlc but common sense and one look at the reviews (listening to your audience) would tell you a whole other story to begin with...
at least at the top of my head there is no other way to set a mark here so the future could be different
the DLC is an amazing remake of the answer for what it is and you can tell that a lot of work and love as well as thought has been put into it... it is good but the context surrounding the game is just so toxic that it is no wonder that people are upset and try to leave a message for atlas this way
It hasna pricing issue but other than that I don't see as bad as people make it out to be
Yes, next question
no it deserves a lot more, for what they did to MC.
Episode Aigis is for Atlus stans not Persona fans.
Edit: _To clarify Atlus stans like press-turn dungeon crawlers, persona fans just like Persona._
Price is stupid high, but the story's peak
Dont care abt the hate my brain consumes persona 3 like water
Yes it absolutely does deserve it, paying $130 for a PS2 game remake is insane
Persona three reload doesn’t have a female protagonist.
Aigis: am I not a female to you?
It's okay but c'mon the mothefucking pricing is insane.
I’m not buying this out of spite and I hope I’m not the only one. The price is craaaazy. And shovelling the BGM + costumes. Like get outta here man. It’s so predatory
...WELL ......OKOKOK DIDNT actually PLAY BOTH....WAITING FOR SWITCH
....BUT.. *_HOW ACCURATE IS DLC TO FES??_*
...AND IF AS ACCURATE AS POSSIBLE....THEN ... *WHATS THE HASSLE*
......BUT yeah,STILL .....ORIGINAL'S STORY must *NOT* BE LIKE "HAPPY ENDING"........AND DUDE must VE BEEN DEAD THERE..........AND TO THE END OF STORY,AEGIS AS WELL AS SHE WAS LIKE........COMPANION..........SOOOO YEAH.....WORLD IS SAVED AND AEGIS SERVED purpose..........BUT AGAIN "WONDERFUL SAVING"
.......BUT THAT'S MOSTLY TO *_FES_* AND NOT RELOAD....
