Every Sunday, a new video. Drop a comment with how we can help you become a better skater.
I really appreciate this video. I started skating in the early 70s on metal wheels. Anyway, I progressed over the years and could rip on skates. Now I 57 years young, and have decided to skate again, just like skiing. Thanks for a very informative video.
My first skates were shoes skates with 8 wheels back in the late 70's early 80's. Getting back into it to exercise and do some beginner aggressive skating with my son. I want to try the 110 3WD skates. Those look great! Dunno about the Ag's yet. Hard to find size 13.5 for my big flippers!
Awesome video 😊 I started skating when I started med school to lower stress levels, back in 2018. Whenever I had some free time I was so excited to go out and skate, and I still am. My first skates were Rollerblade Macroblade 84, then soon after I got Seba SX with K2 R100 frames, and now I’m skating Powerslide Next 3x110 with 270mm frames. I would also like to try some offroad setups, hopefully some day 🙂
Dankjewel voor de goeie assistentie zaterdag van jouw en je collega. Ik ben ontzettend blij met de skates!
Welke zijn het geworden?
Such a very useful video ✌️
I encourage you to make a video about the Seba Cjs models, Seba Sx, the gutting process for each one, toe box differents, etc. There you will find a lot of material to talk about.
Cheers, Ivo.
Love your videos! by chance can you make a table of contents for us newbies?
Exceptional overview on some of the best choices any skater could opt for. Very thorough and enjoyed watching it. Just posted my take on even cheaper options and can see now why the Zoom is priced so low in some shops. Cheers, Ivo! 🤜🏻🤛🏻💥
My first pair were some unknown brand bought in 1995 which I think I destroyed. I then had some FCO Romes in 1996 which lasted for years! Loved them
you are one of the best reviewrs
I think the first 'cheap' softboot skate you showed is more of a knock-off entry fitness skate than a freestyle skate. It looks very similar to the older Powerslide Phuzion models. Those are actually great skates if you are intermediate or experienced fitness/speed skater who likes to go fast but still have comfort. They are definitely not 'Freestyle skates', but you can still have a great experience with them (The Powerslide ones, not the Oxelo or Playlife ones). I set many strava speed skating records on my cheap ass 90mm Powerslide Phuzion skates, including one on an 8km section against a field of 700+ other skaters. :)
Yea phusion is maybe the only soft fitness boot i know off which doesnt lack performance that much while it still is in the category of soft boots.
Zentrablade and. Every single k2 boot are like wearing thick socks with a extremely thin plastic cover around the ankle. The phusion is actually a pretty stiff boot. Still not comparable to any hard shell boot and the hybrid skates of powerslide (kaze/tau/hc evo and co) .
94 K2 Extreme Z's. great skates, giving them an upgrade from old 72 mm to new 80mm
I started in 1996 with some cheap discounter skates with only laces and no buckle.
My first "real" skates have been razors Impact 100
super helpful, thanks!
my first pair of skates were rollerblade astroblades, maybe 1991? i don't remember exactly, it was a long time ago haha
Gracias 😁
I never felt a movement of the frames with the old FR2 without a metal plate.
The FRX Street Kings wheels are not slow at all. People that switch to Hydrogen wheels complain that they are too sticky and want to go back to Street Kings wheels.
I like the Street Kings wheels, they don’t wear as fast as other wheels, are grippy, but not too grippy & are really fast. I was told by a Seba/FR rep, that there were some bad street invader wheels made before 2013 & people are still selling these wheels. They are softer & wear out quickly. I have some of those wheels & they wore down 3 mm in 2 weeks! I have some Matter wheels & those are the best wheels I have ever owned. Fast as hell man!
@@HeadNtheClouds in 2019 i bought 110 mm streetkings , yes they last long but are bad for safe skating
i used them on wet asphalt and i couldnt go faster than 6 km/h compared to an other old set of wheels used for 6 months and i get to 28 km/h and no sign of slipping , can do some fast turns ( short crossovers smal steps )
for an week i have some matter image f1 wheels in 110 mm size and they are like an turbo for inlines
@@HeadNtheClouds which matter wheels did you use exactly?
@@blackyraypatrick9041 they were Atom Matrix wheels. I bought 3 sets of them & they’ve been in my closet for a long time. I believe all their wheels are fast because of their core & hardness. They are expensive wheels, but last longer & are fast, but not as grippy as a softer bullet profiled wheel.
Great video. Thank you. I have one question though. What liners are better for 40-degree weather? I am dying here.
They should have venting holes. It doesnt matter if its hard shell or soft boot as long you get some air inside it. On bigger wheels you can also maintain speed easier. So you won't be as much exhausted as on small wheels. But be carefull the bigger the wheels, the more important and difficult will the breaking be.
April 2021: Powerslide Next 90 (still my favorite)
June 2021: FR1 Deluxe Intuition with Endless 100/110 frames
July 2021: USD Aeon 72 XXI
I've been wanting the Next 90s for a while! Especially the white ones.
I saw the FR1 Deluxe Intuition 80s and they also seem great.
I'm 6'4" and wear a 47 haven't skated since the early 90s. My foot is a normal width. I want a stiff boot for urban skating but I also live near a lot of long pathways that go on for miles and will most likely take them to get to the places I want to play around at.
What would you recommend and why?
Next sadly doesnt fit my size pretty well. Im inbetween sizes 40/41 and 42/43
One is to small and the other one to big....
I bought this as my first skate. Couldnt wear the smaller one and had to buy a thicker liner for the bigger one. Its decent but not good, after 1,5-2 hours my feet start moving inside the boot and i get ankle pressure because of the bad angle my foot moved inside the bootm
How about flying eagle skates???
How/Where do I find the "Micro Skate"? Considering micro is the company and the skate has to have a more specific name right? 10:09
So i have some Them 909s(medium) in an aggressive anti-rocker setup, i want to make the switch to a freestyle setup. Any suggestions on frames and wheels?
Please, make an episode on frame adjustment. Is it better idea to move just the front laterally inside to adjust for pronation. or to move both front and back at the same time? I have been keeping back centered and moving toes towards middle, is this the recommendation /\ ?
good idea. I will keep it in mind
@@Thisissoulcan you explain the process of ordering from your shop to US? How long is shipping? Thanks
he is saying cheap skates and continues saying they cost 160€... I don't want to think how much the expensive ones cost
The best ones are made with carbon fiber 🤷🏼♂️
was the guide for expensive softboots mentioned at the end of the video ever recorded? I cant seem to find it
Thank you for the great video!
I would like to know what do you think about DECATHLON inline skates? they are relatively realy cheap.
OXELO MF 500 hardboots seem good to me, they have aluminium plate and frame.
Is there any problem with them?
In my country they cost only 53€ at the moment (they are for sale, the original price is 112€ which is also relatively cheap).
Why are they so cheap? why haven't you recomand them considering their low price? are they realy that bad?
Thank you very much!
For that price they are an absolute steal! I have them and would recommend them to anyone
Looking at my Oxelo MF500 skates and pondering how much of a steal they were compared to other brands with the same features. So far nothing bad to say about them - hard boot, metal plate, ankle strap way better than the Playlife Aztec's that I had before (that one broke after a week actually), even have that replacable plastic protector on the side which the Aztecs didn't have. Probably the reason that I saw the Aztecs being reviewed as the cheapest hardboot instead of the Oxelos is the fact that the reviews are mostly made by people who actually sell the skates. Since no other shops besides Decathlon have them - they don't really know them and don't review them or compare them to other brands. Same as Decathlon does not have any other brand skates to compare to. So no professional comparisons can really be found.
Of course it would be really cool to see ThisIssoul review them or compare to other models but I absolutely understand why they would not want to do that. After all a business is still a business and everybody needs to eat. Promoting competitors is not really that good of an idea.
Its somehow funny. Since you cant adjust revited frames you will always just see them on cheap skates, but the developer of endless frames said that revited framed because of the amount of screws which are inside and how strong the connection between frame and boot is is a supperior mounting technique especially compared to 165/180/195 mounting which has only 2 screws under the boot.
But of course nobody would like to soend 500 bucks for a skates where he couldnt change the frame, when it became damaged through a fall or if you got rid of your frame setup.
The revited screws to the side shpuld also take away a bit of vibration. Sadly i can not comment in that because that would need. Curtain testing and there is so much influence, my padding, inside a boot and the wheels.
how good is Powerslide next compare Powerslide zoom pro ?
I see both in you website.
Powerslide is a bit better techically spoken, but both have a pretty different fit. (narrow till intermediate = next while zoom = wide)
Are you already skating? What did you choose?
@@blackyraypatrick9041 I skates both now. powerslide and sway ( aka agreesive zoom) , I must say, I like next better.
Thanks!
@7:54 From reading the technical description of a skate, how do you know whether it has a mounting plate or not?
That would be hard to know, unless you know. Good question. I will see if we can include it in our attribute list for all skates on our webshop
@@Thisissoul would be cool. Some other shops always name the used mounting in the skates technical data section.
What about flying eagle b5s? Any good?
What about the 8 bolts of the FR skates?
Best in-line skates for a beginner who is overweight?
That would be the FR UFR 90 right now. good luck!
Hi, what do you think about oxelo mf500? Is it ok for beginner(95kg)?
I got these (85kg), I would definitely recommend them! If you are serious about skating I'd pickup the FRX though
@@fazefake6498 not sure how far I'll go and how serious would be but I got mf500. I'm trying my best as rookie)) it will be great if someone record the video about your legs should fill in skates and how to tight them correctly. How the leg should fill all ways support, ect
Do seba e3 80 and FRX80 share frames?
bauer fx2
I love how he pronounces Roces as Roaches
I think it's the original Italian pronunciation.
Limburg🥲
Other side of the world.. or limburg😂😂😂😂😂
Ha ha lotje,
@@Thisissoul net geen limburg hier in eindhoven :D
Are the fr1 skates better than the twister xts? Also do you ship to the US?
Depends on what skate works better with your foot. Other then that the skates are very comparible. We ship to the US, yes.
Coming from figure ice skating, ⛸️
Should I get a four wheel boot with a rocker so it’s more movable?
If you want to do Ice skating moves, then the rocker would make that easier for sure
