I had a chance to hear the top of the line aperio setup at Axpona Chicago. It was the highlight of the show. If HE-1 trades blows with that, I am very intrigued
Once I had oppurtunity to listen to HE1 but I didn’t do it. I thought it was too risky. Once you hear the best, there is no turning back :) Im happy with my unexpensive gears..
If you mean at the show, no they had the streaming service Qobuz to access whatever song you liked Or you could connect your own laptop if you had it with you or your playlist
I heard the Sennheiser Orpheus at the Bristol UK show many years ago £ 29K for the whole system in the early nineties . I was a little underwelmed to be truthful whether it was the supplied music or cool tubes i dont know ,I thought my humble HD 650s were not too far behind . I move on 30 years and i have a Stax 007 & 009s Kgsshv Carbon set up i think is fantastic , then i replace my dac with a 10 year old Weiss 202 Pre/dac headphone amp and plug in my aging HD 650s and it was like pulling aside a thick velvet curtain . I listen to the old HD 650s all the time now .
The HE1 is so good it blew the sunglasses away!

So i was in Munich this year and i absolutely forget to try those, but i must ask you can i play on this any song i like or is there limited playlist?

Makes you wonder if Sennheiser will ever bring out a cheaper standalone electrostatic headphone or finally make a successor to the HD800 series.
Why innovate when you can rest on your laurels? All you need to do is look at the “new” 660S2 to see what Sennheiser thinks of innovation.

Soundstage compared to ear speakers?

It has intimate to very good sound stage, but not on the levels of aperio or Shang sr
Zeos second channel showed that they were feeding this with a IFI zen dac through RCAs no less, LOL, how about when you were there?
No, just a laptop, feeding the USB in turn on the AC

Sure it wasn't the Zen streamer? HE1 has DAC built in.
@@johnratcliffe6438 Zeos' video clearly shows the Ifi zen dac. Unless it was a joke? But I don't think so.
It was a Zen CAN running from the preouts of the HE-1
What DAC did they feed the HE1🤔
It has an integrated DAC.
