I love how you simply and to-the-point explain things. Anyone can see the logic behind everything you guys do to improve things. You guys are so humble and genuine. I love your channel and I so admire you and your dad!
I kept waiting for the girls to make a break for it while the head-locks were off! 😂 You and your Dad are always looking for a way to make your animals lives better, which is awesome!
Good call on the different head locks. That’s why you go to farm shows . Its one thing to see in a magazine or pamphlet but to see in person helps you decide if it’s a fit for your operation.
I was amazed that not one animal tried to jump the little wall and get free. I rarely comment by have always enjoyed your vlogs - always great content with excellent commentary 🚜 🚜 🚜👶🐄🐄🐄🐄 👶🚜 🚜🚜
Great video Eric! Nice to be able to find a company in the area with a product that suits your needs. Hope you're able to sell the old head locks. Doubt you'll have any trouble. Great day for a special project like that. Well done! Thanks for the video!
You should do a video on milk pick up and milk prices and how that's determined. I'm not sure if you have covered that, but I would be interested. Great video, btw!
@donothingMTIAMG I wasn't asking how much he was making. I think you should re read my question. I was talking about milk prices, like what effects them, how they are determined. I didn't ask him to open up his books, lol.
When I was in 4-H a long, long time ago there was one member of our club who had Jerseys, the rest all had Holsteins. We love to tease the girl with the Jerseys that the depression in the forehead, I think it was refereed to as a "dish" and a breed characteristic, was where their brains were supposed to be... We had great fun teasing her about this. The curiosity of cows is always amazing!
I think it was a good decision to switch out those larger head locks for the medium size ones. While I don't use them on my cow or calves, because I have beef cattle, I can see the distinct advantages and disadvantages of have the taller vs the mid-size height. Another awesome video, thanks for sharing your time with us, have a wonderful week!
It would probably have been more work but I wonder if you'd have been better lowering the kerb a good 6-8 inches, then putting the new headlocks in. Then that would have maybe forced them to use the top of the headlock more, i think :)
I lost track but I think 4 new sets of headlock with 5 locks increases feeding accessibility by 4 over the old ones. 20 year life of the locks will add up Eric in even growth and capacity. Cheers 🇨🇦
Not to go off the topic of the video, but I had to ask. Does your dairy farm ever get mail, or protestors, calling for an end to using cattle for their milk to produce dairy products? Has PETA ever darkened you farm at all? If the answer is no to both questions, then your family must be doing something right.
I think that a structural engineer could design a support system that would not be real expensive so that the bottom section of the post could be removed. I have almost never met a post that was in my way that I could not get removed. Hope your new system works out well for you. As always, love the video.
Buenas tardes.
Good day! Great job. All looks simple and effective. We mostly use concreat barn designs. But it is more complicated than wooden. Could you please suggest where I can find similar wooden barn project (with drawings) or maybe You can share it. I will be very grateful for your help. Thank you
You made that installation look easy, nice when everything fits. In the uk most building are steel framed so involves a lot more work cutting and drilling compared to screwing straight into timber
Very good work, and I see a life lesson. With any problem, the final solution comes down to us. Certainly seek outside help, but the bottom line result, depends on the individual. Thanks.
Idk my mom might be interested in those head locks the inconvenient part is we drove right past your farm on the way to supper all just say at the big restaurant down the road I'm guessing you'll probably know wich one but anyway first I'd like to ask how much you were thinking also if they would be about the right size for breeding age animals oh and we live in central pa we were just staying down that way for the weekend that's why it's inconvenient
Sir, I am looking for a watifa in a dairy farm. I have two years of experience in Morocco. I also hold a baccalaureate degree. I know how to deal with animals and agriculture, and I have a full driver's license. If you are looking for someone now or in the future
Nive vid about when it's time to make a change and topics about cost. It appears you avoided doing what some folks do. Get a pad of paper and a calculator and try to get the math to tell you a yes or a no about spending money. Good for you. Numbers are important but they never tell the whole story. There are costs, savings, improvements, and problems that a calculator will never be able to know about. So while the need to do math will always be needed it will also be necessary to think the issue through and use both inputs prior to making a final decision. Again, thanks for showing that.
All too often I used to see dairy farmers expecting the herd to adapt, rather than the farmers adapting to respect the behaviors of the animals. That's what separates this channel from lesser dairy farmer channels. These guys know, happy animals will produce for you.
I don't want to tell you your job, but the lower ones are on a lower wall at the bottom. The higher ones are on the higher wall at the bottom. So if you were to cut the concrete, or make the concrete the same height all the way across. Wouldn't they all be lower so the cows heads were higher? Just a thought and great videos.
I love how you simply and to-the-point explain things. Anyone can see the logic behind everything you guys do to improve things. You guys are so humble and genuine. I love your channel and I so admire you and your dad!
Me too!!!
I kept waiting for the girls to make a break for it while the head-locks were off! 😂
You and your Dad are always looking for a way to make your animals lives better, which is awesome!
It is amazing how cows and animals can figure things out, to cause problems and get into trouble, like licking those pins out.
Good call on the different head locks. That’s why you go to farm shows . Its one thing to see in a magazine or pamphlet but to see in person helps you decide if it’s a fit for your operation.
Like the way you explain what and how you do the different jobs. Thank you

Would headlocks work on humans? There are few that needs it, I won't mention. 🤔
I love how you furnace the parts together, with your persuasion hammer !!! The calves "what are you doing"?
Great video Eric! Nice to be able to find a company in the area with a product that suits your needs. Hope you're able to sell the old head locks. Doubt you'll have any trouble. Great day for a special project like that. Well done! Thanks for the video!

No.
I don't ask you how much you are making.
None of our business.

Amazing work, keep the grind going!!! I couldn’t complain for longer videos 😊
Quality dairymen looking after their future
If those were jerseys, they would have lone gone after you took out the first set. I know from personal experiences.
When I was in 4-H a long, long time ago there was one member of our club who had Jerseys, the rest all had Holsteins. A very informative video, Eric. Thanks for sharing.

You and your dad really work well together.
thank you
really awesome video Eric. Thank you and your dad so much.
Good to see you don’t stand still on something that’s not quite right
Those were in the building with all the food and the tractors I'm pretty sure weren't they?
Great video! You do an awesome job with them. I look forward to watching them.
Surprised the criminal cows did not make a run for it.
I think the little concrete wall is too high and the young cows cannot reach the food easily . Greetings from Australia
The concrete probably shouldn't be that high for them but oh well
It's not a waste of money. You will have those heifers, as milk cows for years and learning bad habits in the beginning isn't a good thing.
If I were a heifer living there I would be proud to stick my head thru those clangy metal bars to eat.
I was waiting for at least one run away 😁
Brother i like your videos ❤and im waiting everyday 💘
It would probably have been more work but I wonder if you'd have been better lowering the kerb a good 6-8 inches, then putting the new headlocks in. Then that would have maybe forced them to use the top of the headlock more, i think :)
Looks like a happy heifer house to me.
I can’t wait to see the cows playing in the paddocks and the harvest planting and processing! Show me more, show me more!!! ❤❤❤❤
❤😊👍🏻always a great video to watch!
i would like to give you 1 tip : i would mirror that latch so that the heifers will lick it a lot less
The cows sure watch you and avoid the headlocks when you come close.
I lost track but I think 4 new sets of headlock with 5 locks increases feeding accessibility by 4 over the old ones.
20 year life of the locks will add up Eric in even growth and capacity. Cheers 🇨🇦
Love your videos brother keep it up i am also farmer love from gujrat!
You would think PROPER head spacing and height would have been built into the new barn? 🤔
Amazing work, keep the grind going
I love how you care so much for your cows! ❤️👍🏼
Only if the cows are making money!
It's a business. 🐄💲

Caring for details tells a lot👍🏻
thank you very much for the nice video
Did that weld break on that bracket at 7:18 mark
Eric, be carefull with drilling and cutting metal on silage of cows. No comment but watch out. Gr belgium.

Love your videos but have your cows ever fell in the manure pit
Looks like a great investment
Nice addition to the barn. Fairly quick change out.
Little adjustments can make all the difference. I’d say it’s worth it. Hopefully this video helps recuperate some cash lol
Good idea. Accommodates all heifers in that pen
I am from south africa 🇿🇦 and I look at your videos evry day wen it gome out ❤ stay on it and love the vides

I wish I was a cow on your farm
Good job Eric. Loving your videos
I appreciate how you are willing to try. If it doesn’t work, you are willing to adjust and move forward.
Why headlocks i have just headlocks with my breeding heffers
Nice for giving vaccines and nose rings if needed and anything else
Whe don't vaccinatie in Danmark
That cow is STUCK! 😂😂😂😂. The one next to 107 on the other side of the post. 10:47
Peace of mind is never a waste of money. 😊
A lot of clankity clank....with that design......that'd be annoying to have them constantly clanking.
