This part was so sad. Both were just ready to give it all up at this point. Sazh just lost the one thing in his life that kept him going on this journey, and Vanille due to her immense guilt. _Enough.... is enough_
I'm surprised you never SCANNED them to see their rapid requirements. Because most of the Eidolon's don't require active combat. For example, Lightning's Eidolon Odin required her to protect and aid hope, as a way of telling her not to go it alone and step on those that wished for her help. Bahamut appeared before Fang to help her make up her mind to fight her fate. Brynhildr appeared before Sasz to make him realize that there were still people that required his help, and for him to live on. Alexander came to Hope to make him realize his inner potential. Get the picture?
Oh...Well, Snow was determined never to give up, even at the cost of his own life. His desire and drive to protect attracted the Shiva Sisters, who arrived to make him understand that in order to protect others, one must be able to protect yourself first. Which meant not taking such foolish risks.
Crap, and I forgot Vanille. If I remember correctly, Hecaton (cannot spell that name to save my own ass) arrived to elaborate the point to Vanille, that lying and hiding the truth was getting her nowhere. She couldn't escape the truth no matter what, because eventually, it would all catch up to her, and she'd be cornered if she had no one to stand by her side.
Which is why I prefer to think of the Eidolon's as life lessons...Manifestations of the crippling flaws in their masters hearts, the things that would inevitably lead to their death and destruction. The Eidolons appear to correct those flaws, to make you aware that some form of action is needed, or doom will beckon when next you turn your head from the path.
Nah, that's not what happened. Originally, Vanille was SUPPOSED to become Ragnarok, but Fang did the transformation in her place. After they woke from their crystal slumber, Vanille decided to hide that little fact from Fang, who eventually recalled anyways. Which was why Fang's Brand was Sealed...she was practically destined to become Ragnarok again, and she nearly did. Vanille is literally a tragic case of "the little girl who tried to shoulder the burden of the world, and failed."
A lot of people are obssed with death in these games Especially FF7, Sazh is by far the only I have seen understanding the meaning of death If only people stopped and relax from watching too much DC UNIVERSE and Batman maybe they would be more normal 😑😂😑

This probably sounds stupid, but every time I watch this, I keep wanting to add dialogue for Brynhildr. Something like, "Rise L'Cie. I'm here to show you what you're capable of." Maybe even a bit of taunting, like "GET UP" when he knocks you over. And maybe when you beat him he says, "CLAIM ME!" It probably sounds dorky, but I think it'd be cool. :)
it's more like they appear when a person's will isn't in line with their own heart. they aren't following their own nature and are giving into despair, doing something very uncharacteristic. Like when lightning tried to abandon hope, or when fang tried to challenge the party instead of saving the world. or like the scene with sazh giving up. things like that force an eidolon to act.

+hotman718 That would be unnecessary. In a way, yeah we can all predict he won't do it, but I think you are missing the point. It isnt that she almost died by him, it's about how all the build up of emotions and compassion they had for each other, was gone because of him finally knowing the truth. It wasnt about if he pulls the trigger, but it was him coming to the reality and realization of who she really is and he had to find out what path to take. Forgiveness and grudge. And it forced Vanille to finally confront her own feelings instead of just running away. That's what the scene is all about, the gun represents Sazh's emotions that cloud his judgement.

@jdzspace Not to be snarky, but have you tried hitting the Gestalt button? I noticed it popped up during this video, and presumably the player hit it to trigger.
@Slevinkelevraable Well, what's kinda' funny (and unfortunate) is that I ended up in the same boat, having to look it up... only to not need any of the information I found. I just reverted to before the boss that leads up to Brynhildr, ground up some CP and rethought my strategy. Next thing I know, I've got a good 350+ left on the timer when the battle ended. I was honestly shocked. For those who don't mind the grind, the little Zwerg droids are worth 128CP a pop.

some people dont like it cause its all levels and bosses and not open world with sidequests like most FF games. plus the summoning bosses are are a pain. but the director said it wanted to make something completly original, and i think he has done it.
I was thinking that too. Just giving him a race car and extra ATB meant he was definitely gonna live. I don't mind too much since Sazh is my favorite from this game.
Eidolon fights are more than just about acquiring the ability to freely use them. Think about when the appear, and what fighting them means to character development.
This was the best cutscenes in the game. This is the one they should have made an FMV out of. The battle was easy. Tide turner to get haste. War and peace to establish a chain, dualcasting to sent the gesault gauge sky high. Also having a maxed doctors code on sazh helps allot. potions do double the healing and you don't have to wait on vanille. 49 seconds is my best on this boss.
Tip: us tide turner and make sure u uff up ur team. then switch to dual caster and use aero everytime while vanille had blizzard. once u get to yellow, switch to yin and yang and keep atacking while vanille heals u. then swich back to dual caster. hope this helps.
this scene brought a hot tear to my eye i had to run around and fight a few of the little blue droid things to get enough cp to get haste and blizzard...and i wanna know what song that is from the ost playing in the back ground... while commando doesnt get the gauge up, it keeps it from going down super fast...ravagers get the gauge up, commandos keep it up

@spencerBAXLEY No offense but have you tried using his full ATB skill "Cold Blood"? It's pretty much one big "Fuck You" to bosses.
49 seconds is my best on this boss.
this is such a beautiful cinematic. amazing
What is the name of this song?
@danielthepokefreak They were the most fun battles imo, how can you hate a challenge?
Vanille’s Sazh: *menacing*
@yasuhikou: it's actually called "Test Of The L'cie"
Tip: us tide turner and make sure u uff up ur team. then switch to dual caster and use aero everytime while vanille had blizzard. once u get to yellow, switch to yin and yang and keep atacking while vanille heals u. then swich back to dual caster. hope this helps.
This battle gave me an aneurism. I can’t figure it out
@speeddemon847 You mean psicom?
How did you get the line wrong while watching it be said? Especially when it's written on the screen.
This is an Amazing Cutscene.
i think theres a glitch in my game... i serously tried to fight this guy like 20 times lol cant get past him the bar fills he just run away....
Is it possible to beat this boss without haste or do I have to start the game over?
Yea of course. Just make sure to time your attacks right.
You can turn back and kill more enemies until you unlock haste
this scene brought a hot tear to my eye
i had to run around and fight a few of the little blue droid things to get enough cp to get haste and blizzard...and i wanna know what song that is from the ost playing in the back ground...
while commando doesnt get the gauge up, it keeps it from going down super fast...ravagers get the gauge up, commandos keep it up
The most epic emotional spine shivering scene of all.
