Yuna is a sweetheart with white magic spells and summons aeons when the group is in danger, while lulu has a combination of good and bad but using her black magic to benefit her group, later on she will learn white magic too! What a game it was! I hope Square Enix makes a final fantasy game like that again. Everything should be the same with new characters and story. That would be amazing if they do it the right way.
I don't think Seymour really is supposed to be the main antagonist the way you'd compare to Sephiroth, or even Kefka. He's more of a symptom of the religious fanaticism of Spira. He grew up into the cult, but his own existence was basically blasphemous in itself. He tried to usurp power through religion, by making himself the object of unthinking worship. He gets far enough up the hierarchy to find out the truth and desires to put himself on the throne itself, rather than being right under it. Instead of remaining on the path of righteousness, being both the new Maester of Yevon and also a candidate for bringing the Calm, he is attempting to break the circle through purely selfish means. He's unwilling to become yet another sacrifice to keep the cycle going, to throw his own life away, to concede to being just another forgettable log in the religion's fire. It brings him so far that he refuses to pass on, becoming antithetical to the faith. But he, as a character, is replacable. He's the inevitable result of Spira's religion - and in a way, he's exactly the same as Yu Yevon itself in the first place, in that they both seek to self-perpetualize through usurpation. He's at the same time contradicting the world's faith through his actions and continued existence while also being the closest humanity has to a true mirror of Yu Yevon itself: A being of power afraid of death, of letting go, and as a result tearing everything else down with it. Seymour is fear of death. He's a foil for Yuna, Tidus, Auron, etc. Yuna accepts her sacrifice to the point of willingly marrying Seymour, if only it serves the people in a small way. Tidus is willing to sacrifice his very existence, if only it helps Yuna and keeps her safe. Auron clings on not for his own sake, but for that of his friend Jecht, to put things right, so that the next generation won't follow their own failure. The Guardians all made their peace with their destination, their sacrifice - excluding Tidus, who is simply ignorant until the late game, but has made his own peace with his dream-existence by that point already. Seymour is salvation through religion, even if in a twisted, exploitative way. The cast, however, breaks with faith and forges ahead on a new path, rejecting dogma. In a way, Seymour is to be pitied, because he's got things so wrong, until the very end.
The thing i like about final fantasy x is that everyone can take a positive message from it and no one would be wrong. The message that I took from the story is that the main villain of the story is the religion itself. The religion is the villain because it gives people false hope, false hope that as long as they believe in the teachings of yevon that they all will one day be from sin forever, which is a lie. Giving false hope is one of the worst things that you can ever do to someone. Seymour was simply a character in the story that discovered this false hope, and it caused him to have an existential crisis. Seymour wanted to become sin for the sole purpose of destroying all reality, upon discovering that his religion was a lie. Meanwhile Yuna also discovered this false hope, and that her religion was a lie, but instead of going down the path of Seymour and destroying all of reality, she instead chose to destroy the religion itself and free the people of Spira from the cruel cycle of false hope forever. I believe this is the main message of the story of final fantasy x. And the reason I believe this is because at the end of the story we find out that Tidus himself isn't even real. He was just a dream, a dream sent to guide Yuna into discovering this false reality.
Why I like it: it’s a game with a lot of symbolism, and I get more out of the story each time I play it. Seymour is not the villain, the cycle of death is. Auron’s interesting because he was like the rest of them…following the rules, doing what he was told, and was screwed over for it. It’s a story about growing up, charting your own path, and coming to terms with the idea that authority won’t save you. I challenge you to complete the game with this in mind.
Yes the game does have a lot of symbolism, but I took something different from it. The villain isn't the cycle of death, the villain is the religion itself. The religion is the villain because it gives people false hope, false hope that as long as they believe in the teachings of yevon that they all will one day be from sin forever, which is a lie. Giving false hope is one of the worst things that you can ever do to someone. Seymour was simply a character in the story that discovered this false hope, and it caused him to have sn existential crisis. Seymour wanted to become sin for the sole purpose of destroying all reality, upon discovering that his religion was a lie. Meanwhile Yuna also discovered this false hope, and discovered that her religion was a lie, but instead of going down the path of Seymour and destroying all of reality, she instead chose to destroy the religion itself and free the people of Spira from the cruel cycle of false hope forever. I believe this is the main message of the story of final fantasy x. And the reason I believe this is because at the end of the story we find out that Tidus himself isn't even real. He was just a dream, a dream sent to guide Yuna into discovering this false reality.
Best story and themes for sure, best overall gameplay? Ehhh… I prefer IX’s better. X-2 actually has the best gameplay, but that would depend if one considers it a mainline entry.
I’m not gonna lie, I played FFX for the first time this year and Tidus just reminds me of those puka shell necklace dudes from the 90s. I just called him Puka Boy the whole game.
Well they kinda did, but while the 'remake' did improve the graphics and fix some minor errors of the sphere system ( I love the system but even I can admit it's not perfect), it did strangely remove some soundtrack content and other things from what I know. So I hope they do a proper remaster, with improved cutscenes or more content to show the world of Spira on a bigger scale.
@@creeperkinght1144 it's one of those things where I believe square enix will work their way through the games that they think will sale. Ff10 is the 3rd best game in the franchise and Seymour is one of the best villains, and Auron is probably the best FF character ever created, male or female. Fact.
OP: "FF10 was mid and everyone except boob-lady sucked" FF10: *Final Fantasy X was both a critical and commercial success, shipping over 8.5 million units worldwide on PlayStation 2. It is considered to be one of the greatest video games of all time*
Best battle system in the series awesome summons actually a good story and has the best piece of voice acting in the entire history of gaming the news caster or whatever at the start of the game gave one of the best performances for a couple lines of dialogue in voice acting history
The problem is that you’re getting all the millennials who probably played this for their first final fantasy. If you started with 6, 7, 8, and 9 and then got this atrocity, you’d understand. I was around when this game came out. It was universally one of the worst final fantasy’s. Most fans hated it. I liked it and thought it was alright for the story but it is definitely not a great final fantasy. It was linear and had invisible walls. It didn’t follow the open world formula people wanted. You young wipper snappers wouldn’t understand.
Mid? The acting is bad, the character has the personality that a mother would punch, I couldn't beat because of those 2 facts, and somehow it's my brother's favourite FF game
I think Seymour and Maester Mika was an excellent representation of villains in political power. Best story telling in the franchise, and almost every character has depth. Although I agree with Wakka being the most annoying one.
Wakka is actually an amazing character because he is annoying. He's a perfect representation of a person who believes in his religion/government to a fault, he is the representation of the average spira man who follows the corrupt religious politicians, because its the only way he knows how life works and hes afraid to step out, even when he has faced reality.
Excuse me? Blitzball was ASS!! I hated it was required to get one of the ultimate weapons. And oh fuck the lightning dodge... That was a solid game though. I'd put it higher than "mid" for sure. Man it's at least a 6.5/7
The villain sucked? Kid has a great backstory where you can even get his mom as a summon. Sin was such a good villain too! It was a reprieve from previous titles where there's just a villain who wants to destroy the ENTIRE world. Sin's backstory was incredible. You sir, "you're a bad man, stay away from the summoner!"
I think for a lot of people - myself included - this was their first Final Fantasy game and it holds a special place in their hearts. I understand the criticisms of the game after having played other entries in the series, but I love it anyway.
How can ANYONE say Auron sucked? Rikku and Yuna have terrific character development as well. Replaying the game and paying attention to the subtle hints in the voices and dialogue and faces really hits differently

Blitzball is the worst part of this game, so no thats not why i like it lmao. Its got one of the best stories in fiction and the best leveling system and great combat. All there is to it
I’m at the part after the first Blitz ball tournament. And I love this game! I love Tidus more than Cloud, he’s relatable. The part when Tidus screams just made me love him. He has so much anger, anxiety, and sadness, but he still keeps it cool. Don’t understand the hate towards him, people say he’s annoying, but where is he annoying, and whiny? Loving Yuna so far. Can’t wait see more of Auron, I know him from kingdom hearts. Wakka and Lulu are okay, curious on their development. Also don’t understand about the meme? I don’t really find it funny, it’s actually pretty dark (knowing the first dance she does)
No. Shallow take. Dont catch me with that surface level retention on the thematic elements of FFX. After making a life out of nitpicking WoW lore I am sorely disappointed in you.
10 had kind of bad characters but the overall story subject of despair and religion and the human spirit within that ecosystem is leagues above half of the FF stories... arguably the characters are great but the presentation is cringe.
You are someone who could be handed a ton of gold and you would say: meh way too heavy stuff, gimme aluminium instead. The reason why ffx is a masterpiece? The characters, exept lulu, the story, the tragic in the "villains" and the world of spira itself.

I have to laugh with that Tidus voice over, sounds like he is monologuing to the opening of Goodfellas.
The actual story of ffx is better than almost any of the modern games by far.
yep
This got to be click bait everyone knows X is the best FF ever.
You can't call yourself a Final Fantasy fan and shit on FFX. This is such a bad take and you're missing out on an incredible story if you listen to this man.
Iam a final fantasy fan and x is dreadfully boring and average no exploration a dud final fantasy xii is light years better than x
@@JeremiahEmburyyou're wrong too.
@@LordScrambles1 I agree with this. 12 was a fun game but had a dry af story, compared to 10 its inferior
@@LordScrambles1man yall fools just can't accept the fact that someone does not like what you like huh??? If you like the game fine bruh.. it is a fucking video game
Or people just don't like what you like sometimes. I am an avid FF and JRPG fan and X (as well as X-2) are my least favorites in the series. Followed closely by XIII and all the games associated with it. It doesn't make me less of a fan, we just like different games.
Ffx is an actual masterpiece, are you ok? Made me feel enotions ive never felt while playing a video game, the world buidling, characters, story, music, u name it, all of it was god tier
It did give us Anima. I do like that freaky fish guy
Freaky fish *mom*
@@leaflock7462 yeah I totally forgot about that
To answer your question, Yuna is the reason people like these games.
I was in love with Yuna....like frfr
Yuna is a sweetheart with white magic spells and summons aeons when the group is in danger, while lulu has a combination of good and bad but using her black magic to benefit her group, later on she will learn white magic too! What a game it was! I hope Square Enix makes a final fantasy game like that again. Everything should be the same with new characters and story. That would be amazing if they do it the right way.
Yuna is fucking amazing indeed
I like the game cuz its good. Hope that helps!
In a way, Seymour is to be pitied, because he's got things so wrong, until the very end.
seymore also wanted to become sin to destroy everything.

FFX is literally the best mainline game in the series lol
Best story and themes for sure, best overall gameplay? Ehhh… I prefer IX’s better. X-2 actually has the best gameplay, but that would depend if one considers it a mainline entry.
I’m not gonna lie, I played FFX for the first time this year and Tidus just reminds me of those puka shell necklace dudes from the 90s. I just called him Puka Boy the whole game.
I loved 10 AND 10-2. I refuse to alter my opinion.
But Lulu is the best. I agree.
It's the only game that's brought tears to my eyes. And talk about Suteki da ne, hell that is absolutely beautiful
Honestly after having played it it's a game that could really use a remake.
After they're done with 7 they will probably do 8 because 8 is going to do good 9 I actually like but I don't think they would remake 9 so maybe by 2028 they will start working on 10 and I will hope that happens and I hope it won't become a fallout New Vegas thing where you occasionally hear that they may be working on it and then they do nothing.
I think it's funny they had a delayed announcement of FF9 being remastered next year, but I guess they're changing planes. I bet it's likely to either to improve the game or delay it further to set up for FF8 to keep the game releases in a appropriate order, kind of like Pokemon and they're 'remakes'@@lostnemesis
FF10 > FF7. I'm sorry but it's true. I mean compared to FF6, both fall short but still I'd say they are both good.
Hey, Auron was alright.
auron fucking got killed and walked it off
THE FUCK YOU TALKING ABOUT! Hate blitzball. Love final fantasy X!
Auron is BAE!!! Fight ME!!! 😡🔥🔥🔥
Ff10 is the 3rd best game in the franchise and Seymour is one of the best villains, and Auron is probably the best FF character ever created, male or female. Fact.
Bro called a 10/10 mid and gave no good reason. If only I had this confidence to be wrong.
There’s so much wrong with this I don’t even know where to begin…it’s a 10/10 fantastic game…I’ll just assume this is trolling.
Hard disagree
Final Fantasy X is a strong contender for the greatest story ever told in a videogame. And I don't like blitzball.
OP: "FF10 was mid and everyone except boob-lady sucked"
FF10: *Final Fantasy X was both a critical and commercial success, shipping over 8.5 million units worldwide on PlayStation 2. It is considered to be one of the greatest video games of all time*
Best battle system in the series awesome summons actually a good story and has the best piece of voice acting in the entire history of gaming the news caster or whatever at the start of the game gave one of the best performances for a couple lines of dialogue in voice acting history
mid your eyes
The problem is that you’re getting all the millennials who probably played this for their first final fantasy. If you started with 6, 7, 8, and 9 and then got this atrocity, you’d understand. I was around when this game came out. It was universally one of the worst final fantasy’s. Most fans hated it. I liked it and thought it was alright for the story but it is definitely not a great final fantasy. It was linear and had invisible walls. It didn’t follow the open world formula people wanted. You young wipper snappers wouldn’t understand.
Well, jesse can't always be right ~
Mid? The acting is bad, the character has the personality that a mother would punch, I couldn't beat because of those 2 facts, and somehow it's my brother's favourite FF game
The best game of all time.
The Intro, just… the fucking intro dude.
I do think Seymour was pretty cartoonish, probably the worst part of the game, honestly.i say that as somebody who think X is pretty much flawless.
Excuse me? Blitzball was ASS!! I hated it was required to get one of the ultimate weapons. And oh fuck the lightning dodge... That was a solid game though. I'd put it higher than "mid" for sure. Man it's at least a 6.5/7
I have one thing to say to this: to each their own.
Its a new trend saying something controversial on social media because it generates reach !!!
I would kill for a full fleshed out Blitzball game, with rpg features built in
I’ve been saying this for years. Have it be a fully fleshed out sports game developed by someone who does sports games well.
ffx ps5 remaster with online blitzball
This all makes sense. He thinks blitzball was a reason why people liked it. He clearly didn't understand the game very well lol.
Was my first FF, maybe why it's my fav.
You’re opinion doesn’t matter sir
How can ANYONE say Auron sucked? Rikku and Yuna have terrific character development as well. Replaying the game and paying attention to the subtle hints in the voices and dialogue and faces really hits differently
It should have been you and not Total Biscuit.
Jesus Christ.
Holy shit.
No idea who this guy is but he’s a massive dud of a human. FFX is a brilliant game, full of soul, and Lulu is absolutely not the only good character. And a FFX-2 meme, really? At least fkn know the game you’re referring to
oof, hard disagree now that I'm playing it for the first time. Well, Seymour is a bit mid tho, you got me there.
Blitzball is the worst part of this game, so no thats not why i like it lmao.
Its got one of the best stories in fiction and the best leveling system and great combat. All there is to it
Most people rejected his message. They hated Jesse because he told them the truth.
I don’t really find it funny, it’s actually pretty dark (knowing the first dance she does)
Rare Jesse L. FFX is top 3
It just aint mid lol. Final fantasy has the most divided fanbase of any franchise.
Blizball sucks, the main villain sucks but the world, the somber atmosphere, the voice acting and summons in battle made me like it
Your channel and ffx have a lot in common then
FFX is the best one out there bro
No. Shallow take. Dont catch me with that surface level retention on the thematic elements of FFX. After making a life out of nitpicking WoW lore I am sorely disappointed in you.
ff10 made a contract with my soul when i was a child, the most spiritual Final fantasy out there.
X was really good and Yuna was a fantastic character! The remastered messed up the models.
I agree that FFX is pretty mid, but man, the battle system is SO good.
