It would be awesome to see you take out an older sled (2014ish) and see what sort of challenge/difference compared to today's newest sleds. I know a lot of guys including myself who run older sleds would love to see how we fare.

Keep killing it out there Matt. I’ve been watching you basically from day one. Watching you grow each and every year makes me happy. I’m one proud dude to see you running my favourite brand of truck too. Feed off the butthurt in a positive way. nice setup. I also run a f350 and a marlon deck, works well (albeit older than yours). I have airbages even in the f350, nice to keep your low beams out of peoples face at night when the sleds are on the deck. Get the onboard compressor, much nicer than getting out there and checking them all the time manually.

Watching your videos is a real treat! I get adrenaline rushes from your first person perspective while going through the trees. Oh! No! Watch out! You’re gonna get stuck! Your riding experience really shows! These newer generation mountain sleds just keep getting more capable. My riding was done in the 80’s and 90’s and the “awesome “ sleds of then are different creatures. I look forward to a time when I can tryout a new gen sled. Meanwhile I get to live vicariously through such amazing postings by yourself and others. Thank you very much!

Congratulations on the new truck 👍 We ordered a 2022 F350 Lariat SRW 7.3L gas crew cab long box FX4 in February of 2022 and received it June 15th 2022. Looks a lot like your's (Star white with black appearance package). It replaced a 2020 Ram diesel. Got more on trade than I paid for the Ram brand new so the timing was right. We ran our 8' deck on the 6.5' box and it was a serious pain, so I know what you mean. Our first BC trip of the year is in a few days and we're really looking forward to it. The Ram was a Bighorn and the seats were brutal after a couple hours on the road. The headlights are super nice, but my main reason for going with the Lariat over the XLT was the improved adjustability of the passenger seat (wife has some back issues). I hope the new rig works well for you man and thanks for sharing.

Having seen a lot of your videos I know that there is something to be said about the reliability of your equipment and you have touched on that a few times. It's always important to be prepared, especially while out in the mountains in winter or summer. Having said all of that, why o why did you buy a Ford. I thought that you didn't want to get stranded in the wilderness due to equipment failure. :) I know I know Ford guys will get butt hurt about this comment but it's always fun to poke at brand loyalists. I guess I don't have too much room to talk, I'm one of those loyalists. My loyalty however is to a brand that won't strand me and never has. Everybody looks good in a bowtie. Happy sledding this year, keep the videos coming.

My last truck was a 2000 Cummins HO 6spd Dodge 3500 dually . I loved that truck, but the new one is a lot more comfortable , but this 10speed is nice. Generally I am not a fan of autotragic transmissions. But the new 10 speed is pretty nice. Hey Matt. I'm going to repeat it every video until you see my comment. I think chloe has never learned the right technique to not be tired trying to handle the sled. It's driving her and she's trying to fight it. You can't blame her, she's never been taught the basics. I'm not a big guy at all. I'm 120lb and I can control the sled pretty well by relying mostly on counter steering. It's the first step to learn to control the sled, then she can learn to help balance the sled with her positioning. I suggest you get her a teacher. She would have much more fun after this, following you in the not too steep zones instead of staying on the trail all the time. Anyways thanks for the great content. You're the only guy I watch regularly.

get her good enough and put her on the Polaris with the 165" linx track aftermarket turbo, exhaust, suspension etc.
Her size and that much flotation (wider upper section ski's too. Just crawl into place with cameras. Then she could move 'down' to your boosted 155 Doo (my god I wish these existed in my day, much envy).
Oh, and do more following you shots, you will be one of the best on the mountain, particularly in the trees (btw i think the 9r might be brilliant in them after watching a couple of Turcotte's videos on the 9R. revs to 8150 as he had his clutch and .he had a new pipe end for it
He did some other stuff, but it was a 146 and he was getting it with a group of 155/165'rs.

How do those tires work in snow? Usually a taller thinner tire works best

Yea usually they would. So far they’ve been better than I expected

Hey @muskoka freerider! I watch all of your videos and have a quick question for a great rider like yourself. I’m new to the doo’s. Do you lock out your T motion?

    • @MuskokaFreerider
      @MuskokaFreerider  Год назад +1

Sometimes yes sometimes no lol new summit experts don’t have t motion

@@MuskokaFreerider thanks! I just got a gen 4 and am wondering if it’s worth it to do away with the T motion given all the side hilling I do

Is there any where you can rent these truck/sledhaul combos? I am from Germany but would love to spend a season sledding in BC. Dont have the liquidity to buy a truck and sled to sell it again.

I'm Canadian and thete are a ot of businesses that do just that here

On option would be to go to Grizzly Lodge and rent the sled right there. Their lodging is actually right in the riding area. No sled deck-equipped truck rental needed.
If you are new to mountain riding I suggest a guided clinic. Trail riding point and shoot easy. What Matt and other youtube backcountry riders do,
to me, is akin to learning how to hit a golf ball.
Another option is West Yellowstone. Leaving in 6 days!

That 9R you have incoming, hnnnggg...
The videos I have seen (as I am sure you have) make it look, act and sound like a chainsaw for snow. There is a thing that we call 65-85% throttle that exists in NA motors whereas Turbos spool and skip that huge band , who knew?
