Kylie is an icon, legend, queen and has been treated/brought down her whole career, she always gets the last laugh! I’m just happy she’s finally getting the recognition She has deserved since 1987! I’m so, so excited to go to her April 29 show!
I remember being 13 yrs old buying Kylie’s first cassette (1988). Her 1st album was so hard to get in the USA back then..I had to request it. It’s awesome to see her still going strong.
Which probably explains why she failed to get full blown success in the US and lost distribution here for more than a decade. Even as her debut was massive overseas, produced a #3 hit in the US, and went gold in the US: they were fumbling her sales and distribution in the US (hence why it was hard for you to get her album). Probably would have gone platinum in the US had they done better. No surprise they completely fumbled her sophomore album here, and foolishly abandoned the US market altogether until 2002
@@tylerkochman1007 I agree with everything you said. 2002 is when the USA as a whole took notice of her. Her 1st album was fire..and never understood why it didn’t chart better..but like you said, distribution wasn’t available much. In 1988, requesting her cassette at a music store cause no one had it. I recall being told there were no promises it would be shipped to the store. It came in and I was a happy camper.
@@tylerkochman1007That was because back in 1988 she had a record deal with PWL that wasn't directly linked with any major recording company/record label when she started out. In 2002 she already had a direct record deal with EMI international group...
I remember seeing her first two albums at every music store in Michigan and the videos from those albums on MTV and VH1. After that it seemed like she dropped off the face of the Earth, musically speaking. I found out they weren’t releasing or promoting albums three and four here in the USA at all.
@@TheBOG3 That's because she switched recording labels in between also. She only managed to reconnect with the american market with "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" (2001)/Fever album due to her then new recording deal with the EMI Group...
It is incredible seeing her new-found, re-found, long-overdue popularity in the USA. I still have her first record "Locomotion" from 1987 I think it was. I've been a fan for the long haul and she has only gotten better with age and that isn't usually the case with many singers. She's stayed true to herself, her fans and her sounds which is really important. She remains contemporary without alienating those who love her. She knows what her fans want to hear and she gives that to us (Madonna and Janet please take note). I think Luther Vandross was one of those people that did that so well until his passing. Times, fashion and styles change, but if you can retain elements of those things that made you a superstar and keep adding that ingredient back into the mix, with a dash of the new flavors, you're golden.
Kylie’s new music is better than ever which is rare for a artist of her kind . A lot fall off but her music has been so consistent and actually really good!
Right?!😂 When Kylie released her Christmas album a few years back, I thought: "Oh ok, she fell off. It's all downhill from here now, with Cover Song albums"😂...but then she released her past 3 albums have been absolutely incredible!!! ❤Honestly some of the best lyrics and production she has ever had?!✨️ Very rare for an artist 30 years into their career to be releasing new songs that are genuinely better than her first albums!?✨️
I am so excited for all the American fans to see her on a stadium tour which she’s been doing everywhere else in the world since the beginning, it’s epic and beyond imagination how beautifully incredible she and her whole crew are! I wish I could fly over to be there but wouldn’t want to take the chance from a fan who’s never had the opportunity to experience this magical moment in time. I’m going to her home shows in Melbourne which is on another level.
The consumate performer. An indestructible force. Kylie can do absolutely NO wrong! Everything she touches just turns to GOLD! So proud of our own Aussie legend. And, so looking forward to the tour!! World... LOOK OUT!!
It's incredible to see her being interviewed here in the US & knowing she's finally touring here. I assume the success of Padam gave her a reason to tour here. I've been a fan since the very beginning & during that time I've only had the opportunity to see her live once, in 2019 at Hampton Court Palace. What a night!

Carson is really such a wonderful interviewer and host. I still remember her being on TRL and at the MTV spring break Seaside Heights Beach House. They would be together often during her fever album and maybe some of body language. That is a really good guy right there, doing research and actually following artists and music as it’s his career. They should really do more with Carson.
