  • Cuba, Hispaniola, Jamaica and Puerto Rico: the four big islands of the Caribbean, are hotbeds of anole activity. But what’s striking is the physical parallels you see between the anoles living on different islands - a phenomenon known as ecomorphism. But did these ecomorphs evolve first and then spread out to the different islands - or did they evolve separately, and then move? A battery of physical and DNA tests help point us toward a conclusive answer - and bring scientists one step closer to understanding the great mysteries of evolution.

I love anoles! I have 12 captive bred babies right now! I miss getting out into the bushes and catching them! I grew up in Georgia and I'm use to catching my own. There aren't any anoles here in Pennsylvania! It sucks up here! 😒😖

I'd love to get out in the field and work with these people looking for these cute lizards, the only thing I'd worry about is TICKS.

Fascinating!! But why hasn’t the same evolutionary diversity happened in the U.S.? Being that the Green Anole (Anolis carolinensis) is supposedly the only native species to the U.S. I think this question challenges the researchers of this video. And what Eco-Morph would the research place the Anolis carolinensis?? Especially since there are claims of the Green Anole evolving as we speak away from the invasion Brown Anoles Eco-Morph.

Adapt to survive.. Is it evolution, probably not, your study was based in the 20th century, these creatures have evolved and Adapted over multiple melena..
