Looks like a year ago since I last posted. We are doing the cruise again but this time on allure😅. Referring to your video again because it was super helpful.
You’re very welcome. In our first train ride in Italy from FCO to Rome in a mad rush as the train was ready to leave it took us a good moment to make it work only after reading carefully to align it to the left.
That’s a great idea and a big help to future travelers. Prior to our trip I searched for shuttle information on all cruise ports as we had an 83 year old in our group.
Train ride is about an hour. I believe train leaves every hour as well. You can actually go online at trenitalia.com to look at the schedule and purchase tickets. We didn’t buy online because we weren’t sure what time we could depart. Have fun.
Hi, can you remember how busy the train actually was? I’m figuring out if we would be better going via coach, as I’m very claustrophobic and hates being in a confined space with loads of people.
Train stations can be crowded. There are assigned seats in trains so you will have your own space. I remember coming back from Pisa train was almost empty compared to going there but you should be alright.
My short answer to this is Yes. There’s a train change to go to Florence . It is doable if one walks fast. Disembark as soon as that gangway opens. I recommend going to Florence first which is farther and work your way back. Go online on Trenitalia or Italiarail and look at the train schedule so you can budget the time you’ll spend in Florence. You don’t need to spend a lot of time in Pisa. Remember to give yourself extra time going back to the ship as you may have to walk from La Spezia Centrale train station to the Cruise terminal and then take that free shuttle back to the ship. Good luck and Have a great time.
I love the video, it's very informative. How long is the ride from the La Spezia Train Station to Pisa Rossare Train Station and how much is the price for round trip ticket 🎟?
I don’t remember the train number but the number is posted all over the train station . Just buy round trip ticket to Pisa and back to La Spezia Centrale this video shows you exactly what station to get off to go to Leaning Tower of Pisa.
hi just want to clarify, going back to cruise terminal in La Spezia u said u walk all the way. From where? Guessing it shouldn't be from Pisa right? So from Pisa how did u got back to La Spezia? And is there a free shuttle from cruise terminal to ur ship?
Yes, you’re right we didn’t walk from Pisa. We couldn’t find a taxi from the train station back to the cruise terminal. It was a 25 minute walk which wasn’t bad if we didn’t have an 83 year old in our party. We took the train back from Pisa same way we went. We got a round trip train ticket to and from Pisa from La Spezia train station. And yes there was a free shuttle back to the ship from the terminal , same one we took from the ship to the terminal. Enjoy your cruise.
Awesome video! super helpful! I hate to sound like an idiot with the question im about to post but bear with me, I have never really done public transport in my life. I think we are doing the same cruise you just did but on the Symphony of the Seas. One of our stops will be La Spezia. Of course we're going to Pisa. Your video has taken alot of apprehension away from me. Question: Do I do the whole experience again from the PIsa terminal? Buy a ticket, validate then hop on the train back to La Spezia? Or is our ticket going to be a roundtrip ticket so we can just validate the ticket again at the station? Thanks for the help! Jim
Yes you can buy a round trip ticket and just validate them going back. That’s what we did. Have fun on your trip. You’ll love Symphony. We were on her on a Carribean cruise. Awesome ship. Let me know if you have more questions. I also have videos on the other cruise stops.
The Sorrento video is the Naples cruise stop. Naples tourist area is just about less than 15 minutes from the port. I mentioned a little bit about that in my Sorrento video.
Hi thank you. Helpful video. I got one question pls. You mentioned 5 min walk from Pisa S. Rossore station to the leaning tower. I tried google map but its not giving me that 5 min walk route. Its making us walk under the tunnel instead (bec of train fence it appears) that makes the walk longer. Hope you can help clarify pls. Thanks
If you look at the fence , the other side is the train station. We just walked out from the station. From there all the way to the end of the fence is just a minute or so walk, make a left and walk like 3 minutes to the end of the block where you make a right and you’ll see the tower of Pisa. We didn’t go through a tunnel. Let me know if you have more questions.
Hi thank you. I paid more attention this time. At Pisa S. Rossore, it looked like you did go through an elevator? for a short underground walk to go to the other side and start heading your way to leaning tower?
I see what you meant. Yes, all train stations in Italy have underground walkway to access the different platforms. You go up the stairs where you need to board your train. Same way, you may have to go through the same underground walkway and find the exit. Have fun on your cruise and exploring Italy.
Thanks for this just what I needed
I’m glad you found this video helpful.

Nice video. Your info about the trainticket machines is very good! But please choose another type of music.
La Spezia and Pisa are lovely places.
Thank you for your feedback. I actually am in search of better music.

If only I can remember how much, so sorry but it wasn’t expensive. I think it was about an hour train ride each way.
