They may be politically opinionated and active but when it comes to voting, the fervour often fizzles out. Less than 40% of India’s eligible voters - those between the age of 18 to 19 - have registered for voting. Why is that? Is India’s youth not well-presented? What are their biggest concerns? Factual information is very difficult to separate from opinion. At the same time many politicians and political pundits will give you a fact but then give their own interpretation of how thatfact came about and what it means. This is how two different parties can come up with opposite explanations and opposite policies to fix a factual problem.

It was 1970s. There was acute shortage of jobs even for Engineers , Science Post-gratuates . Only those having Minister Mama ,Dada got jobs. Yet my parents voted for the then ruling party , that is Congress.
I myself as an engineer remained unemployed for 2 years. Then tried my luck as a wireless operator , in P&T Dept. then a junior chemical assistant in Rly. (not to be a burden of my parents)
After wasting 5 precious years of youth I got a job through State Public Service Commision.
Yet I donot blame the then sarkar for it because there were availability of planty of jobs even then through competitive examinations through UPSC State PSC etc. It was I to be blamed for not preparing for those exams.
Those days were, I remember , one high school only for two ,three punchayth . To attend my high school, I used to walk 16 km every day , then joined for higher studies in district head quater.
Now every punchayth there is high schools and collges

I turned 18 years old this year. I have a clear preference to vote for the BJP. Yes there are few concerning issues like Targeted arrests, freezing opposition bank accounts, reopening decade old cases to arrest opposition leaders(actually criminal leaders) etc. Inspite of all of these I shall vote for BJP because I am against reservation, I am against the main Idealism of communism, I am against freebies, I am against waqf board, I am against spending taxpayers money on Madrasas, I am against different laws for different religions(UCC needed), I am against Bangladeshi immigrants (as a citizen of West Bengal, I can see what they did Shandeshkhali is just the tip of iceberg), I am against targeted taxation on temples only, I am against our decade old education system(if I wanna do Btech in CSE it would not help me if I took Computer Science in my 11th, ultimately for jee I need to study PCM 😢). For all of these issues, Modi government is the only hope for me.

As an eighteen year old, I've seen the level of respect about India foreigners have today because of Modiji. I see a lot of opportunities for engineers and doctors, as a medical student myself. I see the true meaning of secularism today, amd I'm sure in a few years India will be safer country for Hindus. I see a future where India is the superpower

I am surprised that internal security is never mentioned as a 'need' of voters across different age-groups. Why is this aspect always taken for granted , or brushed under the carpet , when referring to the current dispensation.
