Happy Birthday! For yesterday, anyway, sorry I'm late. I'll buy you some South Korean Snail Filtrate. Seriously that's a thing that I saw, bottled.😳All I could think of was what happens to the snails? And wtf could it possibly do for your skin?🐌Poor little guys
Reminds me of when I was in hospital and they gave me a saline drip. I felt Hydrated for the first time ever. I was lying there like I Do Not Drink Enough Water. Eye-opening honestly.
Can I ask what being hydrated felt like? I don’t think I ever drink enough water but I am honestly not sure how you know when you have had enough for your body (not just the random drink x amount a day advice)
Hahaha whereas I drink more than enough water every day and when I was in hospital I was SO dehydrated when I was on the drip and nil by mouth. I was so thirsty the whole time
It’s amazing, how much hydration makes a difference. I had a really bad virus, and ended up being admitted to hospital where they put me on a saline drip too. had to give me two bags of saline, but afterwards I felt like I could’ve run up a mountain! Couldn’t believe the difference hydration makes!
@rosebyrd9896 they say to drink until you don't want to and to only drink when you feel like it. All about listening to your body. I drink water all day throughout the day. Just leave my water bottle nearby and take a few sips every half hr or so. Every time i see it or walk past it, take a sip. An IV makes me feel wet, cool, and mushy but on the inside lol. Of course that's going to be more than enough liquid rather than just your typical hydrated. An indicator for me that haven't drank enough is my lips start feeling dry. I hate the feeling of dry lips so it's very noticeable for me.
the first thing i noticed when watching the before/after, is that with more hydration in your skin, there's a larger degree of "subsurface scatter" which is a lighting term in special effects referring to when an object glows because light flows through it and scatters diffusely, like when you put your hand in front of a bright light and see the skin glow. yeah, more water in the skin for the win
I see what you mean! It looks almost more uneven now because it isn't matte anymore and there are blood vessels visibly activated. And the cells are filled with more fluid so the top layer looks more translucent. My skin looks like that the entire time. It was interesting to find out that the reason is I naturally have well hydrated and oily skin. But it checks out
I want THAT facial... I want that scalp purifying treatment where they put a high-def camera on before and after and I want a honey and salt scrub EVERY week!!!! And I love the whole vibe --- "Yeah, yeah .. my sister ... life-changing, life-affirming journey, realizing her true self, blah, blah, blah ... but I'm gettin' a FACIAL!!!!" LOL --- Disclaimer: I KNOW you've been so supportive of your sister from complete acceptance to actually physically going across the world to accompany her so she wouldn't be alone. XXX
This was such a good video, and I love the way it's been edited as well! (i've been watching videos on 2x speed recently but for this one I watched at normal speed because I was so intrigued)
I want one. I am convinced. Not that it would take much, but the suctioning the skin thing sounds and looks so satisfying I want it. I've never had a facial before, but the in the dark, silent, listening to each other breathe definitely sounds super awkward and is one reason I don't get stuff like this done. But this facial is very tempting.
Unless you are a vlogger, it will be nothing like this. Mostly you can just be silent and they leave the room once face mask is applied :) do the facial!!
I wouldn't mind having one of those but I don't think I'll find it in Oostende (Belgium). I used to have super oily skin til my late 30's and in a matter of months it went from super oily to extremely dry. When I got out of the shower my skin was flakey en felt like sandpaper. It improved a bit after putting face cream on but after a few hours my skin would be bonedry again and start flaking. Then I started using a hydrating serum before my face cream and that improved it. No more flakiness but my skin still felt dry. Someone recommended using Bepanthol Cream and that was a game changer. For the first time in years my skin felt soft and hydrated again. Best thing is that it's cheap. In the beginning I put it on every morning and night between my serum and face cream (I learned that it's better to apply several product in thin layers than 1 thing thickly, you just have to start with the most liquid and end up with the thickest cream). Now I just use a days in a row when my face starts to feel dry again. The serum doesn't have to be expensive either, the one I use is with Hyaluron and costs 5€ from Kruidvat's own brand (drugstore chain here). I also have CFS/ME (and Fibromyalgie and Spasmofilia) and I wonder if my skin went so dry from being indoors so much. Because it started a bit after my divorce when I had to go live in an apartment without a garden so I was even more indoors than before. I'm assuming that you spend a lot of time indoors too.
Girl, same happened to me! I always had super oily skin, I didn't even need to use face cream and then, suddenly after a very intense stressful period of my life, it turned completely dry. Started when I was 26, now I'm 30 and turns out it's seborrheic dermatitis. Check it out!
I’m now terrified of those pools with fishes that eat your dead skin because I saw someone lost their foot because of bacteria. Basically the fish can’t be cleaned between people so they can spread bacteria etc. Scary stuff.
That face Peeling is also called diamond Peeling, at least here in Germany. It is amazing! And you can get different Kind of extra trearments as well. Maybe you find someone who offers it :)
Hey Ell, if you are interested in Korean skincare, there is a Korean skincare RUclipsr who was raised in LA but lives there now. Maybe you could do a collab with her & she could teach you some skincare stuff. Her RUclips channel is Euni Unni.
I've been wanting to do this for 4 years! Something similiar is also available in Germany. I'm unsure If I should do it because I have rosacea but this video brought back the urge
Loving the content atm, always do though haha. I was concerned that the facial involved touching of the person bare hands on your raw skin though just because even if clean sweat still transfers esp from hands. Fascinating process anyway. ❤
Have you heard about Medical medium, Anthony William? He has written pretty much about ME in his two books "Brain saver", and how it's caused by the same virus as mono. He gives a full protocol and game plan how to heal from it, maybe make a video when you try it out for a month?
I appreciate that! I don't really know, I feel like RUclips has a bit of an issue with me atm. that's partially why I ask that if u enjoy the vid, pls take some time to comment/share/like (if u don't mind!) bc it can help the algorithm realise people do like my content + actually show it more haha
I’m so pleased you had some great experiences in Korea. That face mask did look really claustrophobic though. I would just like to sleep on the heated bench.
Genuinely confused at the low views. U shadowbanned or smth? This video feels like a multimillion view kinda vibe (not even saying its spectacular, just the production style i guess).
I’m confused as to why she would? Her hands are sanitised and cleaned thoroughly, I also wouldn’t want to feel gloves on my face - i wouldn’t find that relaxing at all ahha
@@Ellbat oh ok then, that’s fair. I’m just used to NPs at the Derm clinics I go to in the States wearing gloves all the time. I mean I’m sure it’s totally fine. Anyway, I like your content! Ty for responding :)
Was just noticing this and said Ugh out loud. Working as an esthetician here in the US, this service is equivalent to the hydrafacial, a service I provide and I would never do this without wearing gloves (at least the service provider is wearing a face mask).
im so confused, I have never had any facial (UK/EU/Korea) where the person wears gloves bc their hands are sanitised and clean. I don't want her to rub gloves all over my face that would feel gross lol
@@EllbatNo, it’s really unsanitary. Especially when extractions are done which is what the Aqua Peel machine does. It’s bodily fluids and at the very least, she should have her skin covered to protect herself but also to protect you in case she has a cut or open sore on her hands
I dont like the fact that the technician didnt wear gloves, touched your skin before and after the sucking tool and used it on her hand before your face.. thats just a big No.. otherwise looks nice and relaxing
Her hands are freshly cleaned and sanitised, so there’s no real need for gloves imo! I would much rather her use clean hands than gloves anyway if she is touching/rubbing/massaging my face, I think it’s a lot more relaxing. Obviously it’s personal preference and I think she would wear gloves if requested. do people normally wear gloves during treatments where you are? 💓
@Ellbat I can't really say because I've never done it, but if i do, I'd deff prefer some type of precautions. That's probably more of a personal preference, tho because I'm the type of person that HATES when people touch my face (except my SO ofc)

It was very satisfying watching the clinician spread the face mask over your face, kinda like watching a cake being frosted.
