I’m a fitness instructor & I always workout alongside my students because it helps them when they don’t feel alone BUT I end up working out 20hrs a week… I cannot put into words the way my body feels by the end of the week & how much I crave Sundays because I don’t teach that day 😂 also you’d think I sleep good….LOL! Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night doing by cycle crunches & talking as if I’m leading a class. wtf😅 but seriously this was a huge accomplishment & you should be proud of yourself for facing this intense of a challenge!
I think the key to success is: make it sustainable. If its too hard to acomplish for you (like going every day to the gym) then you're setting yourself to failure. Make it a challenge but also something that you can incorporate in your routine.
Girl you have impeccable timing. Thank you for doing this -- I've been mulling over the very same thing and having a glimpse of reality beforehand is massively helpful.
I clicked the video because I was curious if there were any physical changes after a month but your video is a great reminder of how I used to feel mentally after working out. What a great reminder when we are all feeling a little blue due to the cold.
I really miss sports. Used to do Latin American dancing, taekwondo and archery, and wend biking of ice-skating on the other days. These days I'm lucky if I can walk to the store and back without having to take my meds... Humans aren't built to do nothing, we need physical exercise. It really sucks if your body won't allow you to do that anymore. You can really see the change in you! You look so much better after than before! And I'm not even talking about your physical looks. It shows that you feel better!
This just really comforted me, knowing that if I stick to my goal of exercising regularly (still working on it, but this week I've managed to go for walks almost every day), it'll eventually help with my mental health, too.
I absolutely loved this video! When I first started working out, it was absolutely painful to get through. Especially for those first few weeks. I always had the thoughts in my mind of, “I have to do this for the rest of my life?” And honestly, it would demotivate me. But, once I finally got through the experimentation and started working out at a pace that I was comfortable with, I saw such an amazing shift in motivation, energy, and just happiness in general. I always recommend for anyone who wants to get more into fitness to absolutely start slow. And the way that you know that you’re doing it right is if you’re feeling good about it. Because that’s how you grow :D
I started working out in august last year to lose weight and it has worked, I’m 2 stone down while building muscle at the same time. More importantly though I don’t get brain fog or anxious as much, and the feeling when you hit your goal is unparalleled, exactly like when you hit your 9 minute mile. Wishing you all the best for 2023!
i'm so proud of you!!! even if it's not the fastest mile time ever, or even your best, the fact that you were able to achieve something like this for yourself is super impressive and something to be proud about, especially since it's for the betterment of your overall life and health!
i think this is my sign to re-start working out. im feeling really motivated by your vid because it resonates with me like i wanna do it because i want to be more healthy
I have been worried about my fitness as I broke my toe and can't do very much until it's healed. Watching you has made me feel better, and I'm thinking of trying a month challenge like this once my bone is healed to try and ease that worry and improve my mental health.
I don’t know if the timing lines up but I thought I noticed more confident In the latest thrift box video!!! 😃 SO PROUD OF YOU!!! This is something I want to desperately work on cause in the past it’s really helped me. Thank you for always being honest and sharing the real human experience☺️
I'm so so so proud of you for doing this!! It's also a great motivation for me, and a reminder that you can also work out in your pj's and it doesn't have to be that serious, as long as you do even just a little bit ❤
I'm on year two of making a gym routine part of my weekly habits. I like to average 3-4 days a week. I'm definitely not a runner, but I have really grown to love weightlifting. I've rekindled my relationship with food and now look forward to eating. My mental health has improved, my physical strength has improved, and I've found a positive outlet for negative emotions.
I felt the same way! Over the last 2 years I've gained 30lbs (which I have never in my life). With the world thing happening and working a desk job from home I was just very sedentary and I am used to being pretty fit. In Jan I set a goal of doing 10 reps of something every hour from 7am-7pm, if I miss an hour I gotta catch up the next and oh man it's working out so well. Congrats on the challenge!
the last week of december i started doing morning planks just to get my ass out of bed during the holidays, but now it's honestly become my routine to do some planking every morning (in my pyjamas, i absolutely get the feeling!) after i wake up and it just feels nice to be able to keep up something little and simple like that :)
I've been regularly working out for years now, and love it so much. It got me out of my eating disorder and helped my mental health in general. So to see someone discover this for themselves and enjoying all aspects of it is such a joy. I hope you keep it up in a healthy way, letting you body rest when you need it and keep pushing yourself too.
You've genuinely made me want to exercise for the sake of exercise and realise that's a good reason, not because it's about losing weight or trying to be a certain kind of person, it's actually just fun!
Love your channel so much! Commenting on this video as I’m going through an inverse process; trying to not workout every day anymore after getting into a huge exercise addiction and harming my body 😔it’s so hard but I’m trying..hope everyone is staying safe out there! Sending love
i absolutely love the two cats on either side of you in the integration corner. absolutely love. such balance in life. probably the only balance in yours, since its deadline season in uni, but yea. still a great one.
Well, when I found this you tube channel in '21 it was because it had many videos that motivated me to try to get my shit together. I think it's time to revive this. I did the first workout today, let's see where this is going.
I have been struggling to workout because my schedule this semester is crazy. I can’t realistically do more than 2 workout classes a week, and I have no time to fit in running/non-strength training workouts. But this inspired me to book my HIIT classes for this week, and I’m going to try not to skip any of them this week
This was very motivational I have asthma and it’s been getting worse since I’ve stopped working out but the idea of starting and feeling horrible bc I can’t do anything is dreadful
I needed this, I've been gaining weight from inactivity mixed with birth control and my body doesn't feel like myself anymore and doesn't feel good anymore and doesn't move the same as it did. I also only feel attractive when I'm sucking in my stomach on top of that (no matter how beautiful my husband says I am), it's time to change. I've been mulling over it for a month now and I think this is the inspiration I needed :)
I’m in the same boat. The last 2 years I’ve become so sedentary. I’ve been getting back to it gradually. Averaging 3 workouts a week so far and I want to bump it up to 5. I’ve finally reached the point where I’m enjoying the gym again 😁 we can do this!
Birth control can really mess up how much food you crave and make you feel generally more lethargic, I'm on it right now and trying to still feel pretty so I'm right there with you, sister. I believe in us though, and even if we can't get to a place that we feel good physically, I hope you still feel good mentally and love yourself as you are regardless 💜
I'm pretty injured right now from a fall, but this is making me feel motivated that soon daily exercise will be possible again and it doesn't have to be crazy. Thanks for approaching this from a every day person angle.
So cool to see someone experience the feeling of a good workout high. Tried to explain it to a friend and said "it's like this feeling that I could take on the world" 😂
Thank you, you motivated me to do my second day of mommy workouts in a row. I haven’t been moving in three years essentially and my mental health is going up and down, but mostly down in the last few months. It helped to see your struggles to not feel alone and that you still continued. And yes, I also work out in whatever I have on xD I hope to continue at home until I find something better. It is not so easy with two little ones, who get every infection from their kindergarten, but I try my best 💪🏼
Loved to watch this Ellbat! Congrats on the 2 minute improvement on your mile that is huge! I've been watching Andrew Hubermans most recent interviews with Dr. Galpin and now between those and this I think I want to assess my fitness a bit more systematically.
I am on the same journey rt now.. I am not doing it for the physic part but for the mental health and overall energy increase. glad you stuck with it and I do hope you have continued to use the gym when you can.. cheers.
Your intro could have been me talking. I never really moved. When I returned my car when my lease period ended; I decided to postpone on getting another car, because I wasn't fit. I had a bicycle collecting dust and decided to see how long I would last with just a bike after 20 years of driving. Thanks for reminding me to not buy another car, just because the weather sucks♥I do feel better overall and it's easy to forget where I came from. I did buy another bike after 2 years, with gears now☺ It's outragious I know.
I love your human guinea pig videos. Would've been interesting to learn more about how hard it was to find the time for working out. You mentioned your motivation a few times but I often feel that the most difficult thing is to free up the time. Or was December a relatively free month for you? I also wonder if you had set a minimum length of workout time per day for it to count? Anyway, this video really made me think about how I could add some form of working out to my routine. I'm having issues with anxiety. Maybe it could help. Worth a shot I guess.
December was actually really rough as I had university exams, a YDYB launch and 10 days of charity liverstreams. The rule was at least 30 mins of intentional exercise every day. A lot of the PJ workouts were done at 11.30PMish. It was really hard to make time but I’m glad I did! Defo am fortunate that I could build in the time for this tho as I know a lot of others can’t 💓 I hope your anxiety settles soon! X
I know you didn’t Ask me but I want to give you a golden advice here. I’ve been running every day for 672 days (almost 2 years) and the main thing that has helped me be able to get through it on the days I don’t have much motivation and/or time is that I set the minimum time for my run so ridiculously low that it would be stupid to not do it. My minimum for my daily run is 10 minutes. You ALWAYS have 10 minutes to spare so it’s honestly more difficult not to do it than to just get it done. Most runs are longer than 10 minutes, but that is my minimum and if 10 minutes is all I am able to do that day it’s ok. Some days I’ve started my run with the mentality that I’m just going to run for 10 minutes but it ends up being 30-60 minutes just because it felt great once I started. So the takeaway of all this is: set your minimum so low that it would be just stupid to miss it. Once you get more used to working out daily you’ll most likely automatically make the workouts longer just because you enjoy it a lot more and you actually crave it 😊 it might sound stupid to have a «work out for at least 10 minutes daily» but that’s a lot better than saying «work out for 1 hour every day» because it’s easier to skip a 60 min workout than a 10 min workout because you don’t have time etc. Make it easy for yourself to get into the routine 😊 A little goes a long way!
@@MarieAlessandra Thanks for your long comment. I really appreciate it. This concept of actually doing a bit every day is something I'm working on. Admittedly, it's not easy for me to overcome my internal inertia but I'm trying. Thanks again. 🙂
I'M LATE BUT I'M HERE COMMENTING FOR THE ALGORITHM Other comments: I have also recently found that I feel much better after just squeezing in a quick 20min jog. The "happy drugs" that your brain gives you after the work out makes it all so much fun (even if you don't ALWAYS feel like you just conquered the world after). I really like how you included the mental journey because I feel that can be much more motivating for some than what the physical results are. Amazing video and journey, Thank you:)
I got so distracted by the trim not matching up in the background to the right of you in the intro but I just wanted to say thanks for the video, because I've been trying to get myself in a routine and I feel more like I can do it now
Thank you so much for this video Ellena! I have been struggling with excercise for the last two month. I had the idea of going to the gym everyday, or at least three or four times a week.... Best I did was twice, some weeks even one day and that's it. For some reason I had made my mind that home workouts would not be effective, even if I have enjoyed them in the past. But after your video I feel so so so so motivated to keep trying ,and to incorporate home workouts in the days I can't or didn't manage to go to the gym. I wish you and your family all the best for this year!
the timing! I am currently between 2 semesters and don't really have stuff to do, so I go to the gym basically every day. like I think I missed 2-3 days in January? I often go for group stuff like body combat, dance, kettlebell,... and then hit some machines. I hate HIIT so props to you!
thank you!! for saying slim does not equal fit cause i'm so bad at just breathing if i ever run, i'll be dead in a second also, i think it's important that you mentioned that movement is good not necessarily work-outs, i only move through things i enjoy like dance classes or circus activities (the gym machines seems pointless to me)
I work out every day, anyway. Kind of fit it into my meditation regiment. Can't skip leg day when every day is leg day. And chest day. And bis and tris day. I'm so tired all the time...
@@Iwasonceanonionwithnolayers It's good for my mental health (I do genuinely use it as a focus of meditation) and as for physical health? I don't know. All's I know is I don't get tired if I need to run up all seven billion stairs in the hospital's central tower now!
I still have 'Nam flashbacks to doing those darn burpees. You know why burpees have such a silly name? Because they're for silly people. You're silly!!!
Running feels like hell. Long distance runners that like that feeling,...well I find it highly questionable. It takes certain types of individuals to enjoy that.
After therapy.. I have found so hard to go back to workout how I used too... I was using working out to cope with stuff. And now I don't use it for that anymore. Trying to find a way to enjoy it again lol
Keep doing it 👍👏👏👏 I’ve been doing home workouts for almost a year, with some pauses here and there, like 1/2 days pause because me and my bf had somewhere else to be, or I simply didn’t had the time or energy (or both)that day, period pauses (1-3 days), short vacations on the mountain side, but the workouts were compensated with hiking, a lot of walking, summer vacation in Greece etc. But I constantly did workouts, or movement. I admit the whole month of January this was awful for because… I felt tired, I f-ed up my sleeping schedule and eating habits because of xmas and New Year… but last i finally managed to get back on track. The progress might seems long but it’s worth it, I definitely see some progress on my body. So Ellebat keeeeep doing 🤘🤘🤘it, even it’s going out for a walk, it still helps. Don’t think about on the long journey just enjoy the moments. 👏👏👏

ALSO! Lol sometimes I go to bed in my workout clothes for the next morning bc I too don’t wanna get nakey, it is cold 😂
I think the key to success is: make it sustainable. If its too hard to acomplish for you (like going every day to the gym) then you're setting yourself to failure. Make it a challenge but also something that you can incorporate in your routine.
Yes!!!! This is exactly right - knowing your limits is so important 💓
I’m a simple woman - I get a notification for a new Ellbat video, I click. Immediately.
adore u

Yesss someone who knows the struggle of changing into workout gear! I sometimes give up on working out, because I. Just. Can't. Make. Myself. Change..
I'm so so so proud of you for doing this!! It's also a great motivation for me, and a reminder that you can also work out in your pj's and it doesn't have to be that serious, as long as you do even just a little bit ❤
Hemmi 🥺💓
@@Ellbat love you!! ❤
I love this for you. I always forget how amazing I feel when I exercise, and I really need to get back into the habit. Good for you!!!
I love your videos this one showed up today as I was taking a break from my walk and it was just what I needed, thank you.
You've genuinely made me want to exercise for the sake of exercise and realise that's a good reason, not because it's about losing weight or trying to be a certain kind of person, it's actually just fun!
This is the best video I've ever seen ever
Ive been struggling to stay motivated in the gym or any physical activities. This is really inspiring for me thank you
Love your channel so much! Commenting on this video as I’m going through an inverse process; trying to not workout every day anymore after getting into a huge exercise addiction and harming my body 😔it’s so hard but I’m trying..hope everyone is staying safe out there! Sending love
i love that you’re doing what’s best for u !! moderation is so key for happiness, proud of u for prioritising urself 💚
i absolutely love the two cats on either side of you in the integration corner. absolutely love. such balance in life. probably the only balance in yours, since its deadline season in uni, but yea. still a great one.
This is the best video ever! Well done ❤
Well, when I found this you tube channel in '21 it was because it had many videos that motivated me to try to get my shit together. I think it's time to revive this. I did the first workout today, let's see where this is going.
proud of u !!!
I have been struggling to workout because my schedule this semester is crazy. I can’t realistically do more than 2 workout classes a week, and I have no time to fit in running/non-strength training workouts. But this inspired me to book my HIIT classes for this week, and I’m going to try not to skip any of them this week
2 days is better then no days!!! you got this
This was very motivational I have asthma and it’s been getting worse since I’ve stopped working out but the idea of starting and feeling horrible bc I can’t do anything is dreadful
Positive ending, that is genuinely splendid.
Excellent work.
Thanks so much 🥺
@@Ellbat 💙 🖖🏿 ✌🏿
I wish I could work out more but life is so busy. I often force myself to work out but that also takes the fun out of working out sometimes.
I am 4 years in of 4 days a week, body building for 2 hours. It’s not easier, just I know I will be happier if I do it. This motivated me
NEW VIDEO EVERYONE! FINALLY! Another Diet type video!
this is my second upload in a week so u won’t see me for another 2 months now 😭
@@Ellbat ayo 🧐
I am trying to figure out what it is about your saying fun and fruity fresh, but it makes my heart so happy!
Thank you for sharing. I love that you put emphasis on mental health and functional side of fitness, rather than aesthetics
@@bethanyrose9026 look at you go ☺️❤️
Birth control can really mess up how much food you crave and make you feel generally more lethargic, I'm on it right now and trying to still feel pretty so I'm right there with you, sister.
Thanks for approaching this from a every day person angle.
hope you have a good and fast recovery ❤
This was so inspirational, thank you! Have needed to see this, and I love your approach to fitness.
So cool to see someone experience the feeling of a good workout high. Tried to explain it to a friend and said "it's like this feeling that I could take on the world" 😂
You are such a lovely human. It is a pleasure to watch your videos.
I feel you, the amount of times I’ve done one of those HIIT workouts with heart monitors, I was always in the 99% zone. Just, dying up there.
Thank you, you motivated me to do my second day of mommy workouts in a row. I haven’t been moving in three years essentially and my mental health is going up and down, but mostly down in the last few months. It helped to see your struggles to not feel alone and that you still continued. And yes, I also work out in whatever I have on xD
I hope to continue at home until I find something better.
I am not doing it for the physic part but for the mental health and overall energy increase. glad you stuck with it and I do hope you have continued to use the gym when you can.. cheers.
So excited for my YDYB hoodie! I've been wanting the one I ordered for about a year.
Thanks for this vid. It inspired me to start working out again, going on 3 days now!
Proud of u !!!
I watched you since a long time, I just want to say I love your channel
All love to you
I really appreciate this, thank you so much for supporting me all this time! sending u all the love
Really enjoyed your video. I can definitely relate. Happy to hear the runner's high is a real thing !
This is funny. This is the best video ever. That would be great
Would be amazing to have something even longer with this guy!!!
Defo am fortunate that I could build in the time for this tho as I know a lot of others can’t 💓
I hope your anxiety settles soon!
First! Can't wait to see how this goes 👀
also i love how the whole video is the integration corner (the best corner)
I messed up my chapters 😭 (but also the whole vid should be the integration corner, it’s the best part honestly)
@@Ellbat agreed - I don't get how people skip it
You motivated me to star my workoutssss
I'M LATE BUT I'M HERE
COMMENTING FOR THE ALGORITHM
Other comments: I have also recently found that I feel much better after just squeezing in a quick 20min jog.
I got so distracted by the trim not matching up in the background to the right of you in the intro but I just wanted to say thanks for the video, because I've been trying to get myself in a routine and I feel more like I can do it now
Working out in your pajamas is such a mood. Whatever my pajamas are also become my gym clothes for the day lol
this was really inspiring to watch thx ellbat 👍
This was honestly very motivational. I'm mentally not doing well rn, maybe I should start such challenge too
Thank you so much for this video Ellena!
Amazing !!!!! So proud of you!!!
Never clicked faster 👀 queen ellbat
ellbat thank u my queen 💕
This motivated me so much
the timing!
I am currently between 2 semesters and don't really have stuff to do, so I go to the gym basically every day. like I think I missed 2-3 days in January?
I often go for group stuff like body combat, dance, kettlebell,... and then hit some machines.
I hate HIIT so props to you!
atlas side-eyeing the camera during the integration corner is a huge mood
thank you!! for saying slim does not equal fit cause i'm so bad at just breathing if i ever run, i'll be dead in a second
also, i think it's important that you mentioned that movement is good not necessarily work-outs, i only move through things i enjoy like dance classes or circus activities (the gym machines seems pointless to me)
I work out every day, anyway. Kind of fit it into my meditation regiment.
Can't skip leg day when every day is leg day.
And chest day.
And bis and tris day.
I'm so tired all the time...
You sure that's healthy? 🤔
Ooh tri-visibility I'm here for it😋
@@Iwasonceanonionwithnolayers
It's good for my mental health (I do genuinely use it as a focus of meditation) and as for physical health? I don't know. All's I know is I don't get tired if I need to run up all seven billion stairs in the hospital's central tower now!
@@AndrewD8Red Welp, as long as you feel good 🤷♀️ your body would probably tell you if you were hurting it
I still have 'Nam flashbacks to doing those darn burpees.
You know why burpees have such a silly name? Because they're for silly people.
You're silly!!!
love this video it so reall and normal and inspiring, just amazing
Thank you for this wonderful reminder, because I fell off my routine as life happened. ❤
So good to see you on here again
Gotta watch'em all 💪
Good luck with keeping up with it! 🖤
This was very inspiring, thanks Ellbat!
I did this too! Was a great feeling starting January with 2 months of exercising already done..
Encroyable! Amazing job, really. Well done! Keep it up 🙂 and you're doing it for all the right reasons. ❤
Ugh I love your humour 🤣 also you’ve inspired me to starting workout out again, thank you 🥹
Excellent, i still argue with myself 4 years in. But you feel loads better after. Well done 🤘🏼
Running feels like hell.
Long distance runners that like that feeling,...well I find it highly questionable.
It takes certain types of individuals to enjoy that.
I am not strong enough to enjoy that.
Well done! I feel like there could be a follow up next January!
That mirror is incredible
I needed this reminder ❤
love this for you
Can we just take a minute to give a w to the guy next to her for holding a plank the entire time she was working out 12:43
Not you STRAIGHT calling me out for skipping the ad... I listened and went back and watched it all :)
iconic honestly, thank u for supporting the integration corner 💓
Thank you for this.
HECK YEA great vid ell !
Thank u bestie !
Great video. Well done. I feel inspired.
Good for you, keep going 👍
