- Part two of Little Dog Blues from quarantine in Seattle. Don't freak out, play your ukulele! (Or have you tried a Vodka Quarantini?)
This focuses a little closer on the right hand fingerpicking and breaks it down so you can sneak up on the syncopation.

This is so cool but er.. so hard! Been playing it every day - think I’m actually going to come to Seattle and pay for a 1-1 lesson! Del Ray you are amazing!
Happy to find that that I wasn't the only person who found this pick really difficult. Spent an interesting hour trying to copy (slowly) - persistently failing - alternating between laughter bordering on hysteria, shouting "WHAT"? at the screen, and tearing my hair out. She makes it look so simple. What an artist. I just looked at the most vital instruction; it seems to need loosening up with a little vodka.
You da best!
Dear Del Rey, Saskia here from The Netherlands. I practiced more than a half year on this fantastic fingerpicking alternating thumb kind of thing, wow it sounds so nice when you play that! Now finally after all this months practicing it start to sound like something 😉. Thank you so much for this two tutorials, I really had a lot of fun with it! (and of course some struggle, especially when I started practice singing along). Greetings from Holland!
Thanks for the progress report! I am excited to think of you serenading the little dogs of the Netherlands with my tune!! Del
Loving the uke lesson, loving the blues. Any chance that a future lesson can give an insight to playing the St James Infirmary blues, Stay Safe
Ace!
Is there some way you can write down the strings GCEA in order of picking? That would help SO MUCH! 😊
Can you put your music in tab
What kills me- coming from 30+ years of fingerstyle guitar- is that in guitar, the 6-4-5-4 is bass/higher/bass/higher, whereas on a Uke, the 4-3 alternating bass is Hi/lower/hi/lower... the difference in the sound- sounds backwards, IS backwards, and just totally throws me off!
Working on it...
That’s the sparkle! Ukulele is effervescent and that high string is why…
