    *I got the weights confused with another gun's. The 10mm and 9mm both weigh 27oz, while this weighs 25oz with the same dimensions. So as I mentioned, they likely utilize the same slides.

      Maximus makes good videos…. He does complain a lot….. He’s a Glock hatin MoFo…. But? His opinion not ours…. He has the right to be picky when it comes to his firearms…… He loves the CZ P10f .45 ACP…. That gun is a unicorn 🦄 and next to impossible to get (they are getable though if you dig hard enough.) so? Everyone is different.

    I have several Springfield sidearms in different calibers. I have no problem with the grip safety, l for one like the safety and the trigger safety as well. But to each their own. As far as the sharp edges found on the firearm in the places pointed out. I fully agree with those being problematic. And need addressing by Springfield. But in all this is a great shooting 45 in ACP, Well built, reliable and I personally have found that it will eat any and everything you put through it. Not picky about the ammo it has in it. And this is something I have found in all of the firearms that I have tested and purchased from Springfield. Whether it be a handgun or AR platform. Their firearms just proform. Now are all firearms without some hiccups from time to time ? ( YES ). however this is with any and everything made or produced for sale today. But it is in how those who produced those products with hickups take care of fixing them for the customer. That speaks the loudest about that company. I have found the customer service at Springfield to be pro customer. If you have purchased a product from them and it is problematic. For one reason or another. Contact the customer service department. And they will make it right for you. All their products are life time warranted. Guys my opinion here. Not everyone shares in them. That is ok, it's what makes us American. We don't need to agree to still get along and enjoy the same things. So with this said take care, stay safe. Get out and shoot some, have fun take some young people with you. Teach them how to safely handle firearms along with their use. God Bless again keep safe people.

    Don’t understand why you would disable the grip safety. Can you even feel it when you grip the gun? If the grip safety is such an issue for you … get a gun without it. Seems like you have a number of issues with the design and finish of this handgun. I might suggest a Glock?

      Perhaps watch the video before you comment on things in the video.....
      This gun is much better than a glock, even with the pointless redundant grip safety that detracts from the ergonomics and prevents proper back strap texture.

      sootch literally says in his video the xdm elite has a "nice crisp break" HAHA. thats literally a lie.. I have tried 4 of these in 9mm, 10mm, and 45acp and they all have identical triggers and none of them have a crisp break.... this is a half cocked striker trigger with a double action pull like a glock. theres nothing crisp about it, just a bunch of mush until it randomly breaks. but ya... watch him for "reviews."

      I have the original xdm45acp 3.8 compact. The grip safety is flat, no hump. I just got the xdm 10mm elite compact that has the hump. Between the two the flat grip safety you don't even know it exists. I am going to buy that same part and change it out. I had the same issue on the roll pin where they drove a nonstraight shank, with a tapered shoulder to punch in too far raising the edge, swelling out the plastic. I used 45 degree case neck inside reamer to break the edge and the 600grit emery paper followed by fine scotch brite to smooth the area. You cannot see any color or texture change. I like the grip safety from my 1911s for holstering. If you study most acidental discharges happen when holstering. Catching a shirt or garment in the trigger face often causes discharges. With the grip safety you can start the muzzle into a holster and roll into your thumb aganst the slide shoving it home with out any fear of discharge. JMO

      @maximusjoseppi5904 lol I own 3 xdm elites 9mm full sized 3.8 10mm and 3.8 .45. All 3 have nice clean breaking triggers and no the grip safety doesn't break the ergonomics of this gun as when it's depressed it literally goes inside the handle. Reviews are solely opinion based and not facts. If u can't figure that out that's on you kid.

    I'm waiting for mine to arrive at the store. Why'd you buy it if you didn't like the grip safety? There are tons of other 45 ACP's without the grip safety that will fill that need. The XD line meets the requirements where the 1911 frame won't go into. I agree that some plastic pistols need a bit more cleanup work after production like metal guns get. I kept wondering what that shiny band was... Don't have the safety removed, just sell it as is and get something else like a S&W, a Glock or some other Smithfield. If you booger up the grip safety inside, you can just forget selling it sometime down the road because it's obvious you don't like it now, so why'd you hold onto it?

  • @derricknjohnson
    @derricknjohnson 2 года назад +6

    If you're a grown man complaining about that light grip safety, get in the weight room. I've had the XD .45 and have used others. Not an issue for the simple fact a shooter has to hold the grip of any gun to chamber or shoot properly. Just making something out of nothing.

    You don't even know the grip safety is there. Have been shooting xd's for years and have never had an issue. I think the more intuitive safety advances the better as long as the don't compromise is reliability or speed of use, and none of the built in safety feature on the xd's do.

      Here's my 2 cents. Start with 9mm. I have Springfield's XD-9 Subcompact that holds 13 rounds with the flush mag. As a first gun I wouldn't choose a 45. However, I'd rather have 10 rounds of 45 than 13 rounds of 9mm if I had my choice. And I'm not sure where the number 12 came from but most self defense encounters don't use more than 5 rounds so I wouldn't be worried about that, but yes there are 13 round mags and you can even adapt the 15 round mags if you want
