Why do this people talk about protein as if it was steroids or something?
Jakob Buche I was wondering the same thing.
Steve O'Kane You know thats complete bullshit don't you? there isn't any evidence where people have had diseases for eating "too much" protein. That is a myth.
Jakob Buche It's a waste of money, just learn to eat right, train sensibly and more importantly rest properly.
Much better buy steroids than protein shake.
Steve O'Kane the most it will do is give you kidney stones fuck out of here...
This video has : skinny people talking about protein, deadlifting on a smith machine and dumb statements
Deadlifting on the smith? Gotta see that
He isn't just on a smith machine. The excecution is also complete garbage
It's also got buff dudes who don't know how to throw a hook. Fails all around lol.
He says: to be honest, nobody exactly knows how much protein they should be taking...

Yeah, and nowadays they make those powders in flavors that obviously will make children want to try it.. Chocolate.. Fudge.. Strawberry.. The list goes on. Imagine if we let cigarette companies get away with that? Like Marlboro-sugar-fudge-apple-ice cream in some colorful packaging. Also, children to parents who eat protein rich food are more likely to start eating protein rich food themself.
@@HenrikBSWE first of all, they have flavors so that they're even bearable to drink. Second of all, how is it fair to compare cigarettes to protein, and whats so bad with children taking protein powder in the first place?

cudur They are suppose to take care of your teeth dumbass, not your training schedule
Swagster McDingDong all dentistry degrees require a level bio and it's quite competitive so a good grade at that.
Yeah they really should considering they have a unrestricted DEA license to prescribe medication in the US. They only have to take some very basic anatomy and physiology classes...nothing near the level of training compared to actual medical doctors.
I suspect the knowledge of biology and body learned by for example dentist and nutritionist is different. Dentists probably focus more from medical view I.e veins in body, heart anatomy etc while nutritionist will learn the importance of protein carbs fat and the way they are metabolised in the body; how much to take etc, also the researches they read and study is probably different.
Not one person said they was addicted in this saved your self 30 minuets

The garbage in this "documentary" is so ridiculous. Blaming protein powder for kidney stones? Are you kidding? Kidney stones are very commonly seen in emergency departments and i haven't seen a single bodybuilder with one yet. The majority of these patients are not fitness enthusiasts. The truth is the mechanism of stones is still poorly understood but you won't find crap in the literature about protein intake and stones.
Anecdotal nonsense is all this video is.

Why do he call it synthetic protein? Most people will be getting whey protein, which is natural. Others will be getting protein from other sources such as casein, soy, etc, which also is natural. It's not a drug. Its a convenient protein rich food basically, which you are suppose to supplement your diet with.
There no such thing as a synthetic protein lol. Synthetic protein is an oxymoron.

I knew a guy started on 50grams protein a day then it escalated and finally 270g per day. He lost his marriage, his job and is now homeless and spends all his money he finds on protein.
I know that guy. He's also hooked on creatine. Started on capsules and progressed to bulk powder, sad.
I saw the words "addicted", "Protein", "BBC".
"protein is making a difference"
no dummy, the caloric surplus is.
oaksterdam no dummy, the calorie surplus AND the protein
@@Who-cu9eu let him get his damn beginner gains first lol.
I wouldn't be so sure that a caloric surplus is needed to build muscle, when you look at the studies, people who started "bulking", did put on some body mass, but it was mostly fat. If your goal is to get lean and big, you should pump up your protein to increase the effects of hypertrophy without putting on additional fat weight. You can cut and put on muscle at the same time, and yes, it's harder.
T0mm3n you can do it you just need a positive nitrogen balance which comes from having enough protein
@@T0mm3n That's not really an evidence, is it? If you're just trying to build muscle, you have to mainly focus on protein synthesis, and you can ignore other micronutrients. If you want to build fitness body, you can do both at the same time. There's no process of changing body fat to muscle mass. That's a point itself. If u want to give advice, do the research, don't take things as a proven, if you're told them by one buff dude in gym.
"Taking" protein its not a drug mate ffs
I can not believe my License Fee went to this
I was a stupidly small guy for my height, at 16 I was 6'1 and around 160lbs. So I was lanky. I slowed my cardio down to 10min cardio per day, increased the weights I worked out with when I could do 4 sets with 10reps. I ate around 120g of protein and maintained 3k healthy calories. Once I started using protein powder I DID increase my mass/muscle mass
That checks out. My understanding is that the appropriate protein intake for someone is based on body weight with 1 gram per pound of body weight / 2.2 grams per kilo is ideal maybe a little bit more if you're a high level bodybuilder or strongman.
Why don't they ever ask any actual bodybuilders
They finally do 18:00 minutes in if you can watch that long🙄
IKR. . . according to a random group of semi-fit women at a gym who know absolutely nothing. . .
Because they would be laughed at they have to choose actors
12:00 best part.... When you don't even realise that's not a protein shake, im guessing bcaa, protein shakes r thicker that that and does not have that bright color!!
U can get protein in that form a brand called wow hydrate does em although they are mixed with bcaa. Really good stuff
Supplements are exactly that. They are used to supplement your dietary lifestyle not replace it. Real food is always better but in a pinch or for a change there's nothing wrong with taking a protein supplement.

Wasn't so sure about this but I think it made a good point about how nutrition from food should really come first.
