Jerry West was my boyhood sports idol because in addition to being an outstanding player he conducted himself with class and humility.
Jerry was also kind enough to sign an autograph for me when I was 15 - that made me feel like a million bucks.
Jerry is also a great basketball executive and consultant who has a great eye for talent.
Jerry is really hurting now - all the best to him.

Few people are more articulate and require our respect more than Jerry West. The emotion that comes through his voice and the wisdom with which he speaks about Kobe Bryant is felt very, very deeply. Jerry West is the logo and Kobe Bryant, if there is ever to be a new logo, may very well be a good choice. God bless.

Jerry West speaks extremely well and had a heart-felt deep connection with Kobe. This is sad beyond words. Rest in peace Black Mamba.

Jerry dropped some wise words starting at 13:00 for today's professional athletes especially in the NBA and NFL; in which I 100% agree with. It's why I don't feel the same about today's sports as I did in the 80s and 90s. Thoughts and prayers are with Kobe's family, close friends and fans.

There has always been two players that hold a special place in my mind in the long history of sports. Bart Starr and Jerry West. They have a natural dignity and class about them that runs fathoms deep. When they talked it was always honest as the day is long and from the 💚💜

Jerry is 💯 right on how the young players are, guess it comes easier for them to make social media money and from random brands, I’ve heard from a few who said the main goal is to make money and not play at their highest level or to win... to be the best. It is very disheartening to see some like he pointed out sitting on the bench joking around when their teams are losing and some are starters... Ko8e, heaven doesn’t make them like you anymore

Totally agree with Jerry West about athletes today. Wish he’d cone to DC to run the Wizards or Redskins!

Dan, why is it so important to you to avoid the heartfelt pouring out of emotions and feelings your guest have, a mere 48 hours after Kobe’s death. I know you are a jokester, but a few segments with your guest can be about them, and not about your inability to be vulnerable and sensitive, and mask that inability by always needing to be a jokester? I am sorry that Jerry West wouldn’t yuck it up with you. Shame on him for not getting over his pain and not keeping it from predominating his thoughts and sentiments, so you could “celebrate Kobe.” i.e. swap humorous Kobe stories. Some of us are ok with genuine expressions of feelings. I am sorry somewhere in your life that was stilted in you by someone or a set of circumstances. You do have a great show. I’ll tune back in when I am past this period of time, and the sorrow has dissipated, and I’m in the mood for the clever Dan Patrick show again.

The GreatOne Wish Jeanie would reach out with Magic and try to mend the fence any way they can. I’ve heard he’s still upset because they screwed him money wise somehow but I’m sure he’s too classy to say so publicly.

Jerry is going on about how people pay a lot of money to watch yet his team is singlehandedly leading the charge in the “load management” department. Kawhi is milking the same injury he was cleared for 2+ years ago which will magically disappear in the playoffs. I know he doesn’t own or coach the team but still.
