This dude is 81, and he's gushing, admiring and learning things from the young players of today, while still not compromising the things he values, as real as it gets.
Same here, I even read his book. He really takes time and great interest to understand people, everything about them, and that shows in his front office success.
Thank you logo for building the warriors dynasty. If u guys dont know. It was Jerry west's idea to pair steph and klay in the backcourt. He was the man that ensured that klay was not traded when bob myers wanted to trade klay for kevin love.. No team in the history of basketball has ever had 2 deadly snipers like steph and klay on the same in their prime on the same team.. And that's the genesis of the warriors. Every other piece is replaceable but the team is built around steph and klay. If u separate them it wont work..
Mr Clutch is a true gentleman, he was such a great player, and he was one tough SOB on the court even though he's not remembered that way. As a shooter he was right there with Steph and Klay - if there was a 3 point line when he played Jerry would have a lot more career points. Jerry was also a great passer, an all NBA type defender, and was a great athlete at about 6'4.5" with long arms. If Jerry West played today he'd be just as great, that's how dominant a player he was.
@@apt62 it was giannis google it. Lol Steph is under contract for next 3 seasons he wouldn't get dinged for tampering by mentioning steph by name especially since he worked for the Warriors before the Clippers.
jerry said sth i totally agree with. "its beautiful to watch when u can shoot it like that", exactly but most ppl cant shoot it like that which is the thing that bugs me about almost everyone just shooting 3s now
MJ with the 👅 tongue in cheek. Curry is not HOF because he is still playing the game. Steph is the greatest 3 pt shooter of all time. He may win another couple of rings.
I’m sorry, but this woman was nowhere near as good of an interviewer as Rich Eisen. Luckily Jerry West is an interview pro. Edit: Had no idea she is his wife, but I still stand by my comment :)
Jerry and Marshall cane to the golf course when they were stars in their respective sport. I don’t think they would be treated with generosity if they started out as regular kids.
Jerry West recruited Shaq, Kobe, and Phil Jackson to the Lakers. If going to tell a story about Jerry West tell the full truth. Not half the truth. Jerry West recruited big Game James Worthy. Jerry West is the heart beat of LA Lakers. Dr Jerry Buss and Jerry West redefine the Lakers.
I just found what the owner of Lakers Jeanie Buss did to set off Jerry West. Jerry West the logo as for season tickets. Dr Jerry Buss have granted the season passes. Jeanie Buss left him off the list. Jeanie gave Magic, Kareem, Kobe, Lebron, and Phil Jackson. How do do give Lebron James season tickets over the Logo Jerry West. Lebron James is not a Laker. He is a Cleveland Cavaliers players. Phil Jackson is not a Lakers player.. Jeanie Buss is destroying the Lakers. Her vision is low. She doesn't know anything about basketball and she is messy.
@ATL 1 Not watching, playing, and the individuals (kids that play) have elitist attitudes. I went to a really expensive private high school on an academic scholarship, so my folks didn't have the money to pay for golf equipment like most of my classmates, they were all dicks that used to bully me cause I didn't have money, not polite or professional, just fake around adults.
1-9 in the finals but 10-0 in the western conference finals lol. Only player to win finals mvp on a losing team. Oh yeah, he also built the showtime Lakers, Shaq/Kobe Lakers, golden state dynasty, and now the clippers. Also helped Memphis Grizzlies to be good team for a few years.
Snaked Who! Do your Homework This man Is literally the Lakers , Who by the way did him Wrong. He Was Showtime while he played there , then brought Showtime With the Magic era teams he built ,drafted Kobe brought in Shaq and Sent Pau there .Without him there is No Laker legacy. Too bad Jerry Buss was a fool who couldn't realize that.
Jerry West is in the running for most overrated NBA figure in history. He was a fine GM, but his career is mostly overstated. 1) He's not GM of the Clippers now, you can't give him credit for the stuff they're doing, he's an advisor. When something good/bad happens, it's the final decision maker in LAC who bears the weight. Not a guy like West who seems to get credit for anything good they do, but avoids all blame for anything bad. 2) He inherited Showtime Lakers. He became GM in 1982, the team was already built. He had been only an adviser before then, and some of the advice he gave we know was really bad (e.g. he wanted to drafted Moncrief over Magic, something he has unsuccessfully tried to walk away from after various books reminded us of it recently). He made some ok moves and some bad moves during Showtime, but all stuff around the edges. The core of the team was already in place. Nixon for Scott for eg was not some masterstroke; that was a fair trade. The Clippers got a current all-star, for a younger player who would be good in the future. That's a run of the mill solid trade for both teams. Even West will tell you he squandered a lot of draft picks during Showtime. 3) Shaq and Kobe were determined to go to the Lakers, I don't think it mattered much who the GM was. Shaq chose UCLA because they had the Laker colours, and his auto-biography "Shaq-Attack", which was written after 1 year with the Magic, had a chapter where he extensively discussed forcing a trade to LA in the future, and said some things which frankly would have destroyed his rep in the social media age. He was going to LA no matter what. In the modern NBA Shaq never leaves that early because of restricted free agency, etc. Kobe similarly was deadest on a major market, and threatened to play in Europe, and was refusing to work out of a bunch of teams (which given how little HS footage was available mitigates his falling to 13). 4) When West finally left LA, giving us a chance to see how he did in a market that wasn't LA what did he do? Not much. His moves in Memphis were quite bad in some cases, from bad draft picks like Gooden and Bell to pedestrian trades. The good players on his team were already in place (eg Gasol), and when he left he'd done nothing to get them to the next level.
I disagree with you. Your telling the impartial truth. Jerry West was the General Manager in 1982. He was responsible Drafting Big Games James Worthy, Shaq, and Kobe Bryant and Phil Jackso. Jerry West is responsible for seven of the Lakers championship 82, 85, 87, 88, 00, 01,02 as a player 1972. Jerry West made it to the the NBA Finals 9 times. Please tell the full Story
This dude is 81, and he's gushing, admiring and learning things from the young players of today, while still not compromising the things he values, as real as it gets.
Jerry west is the kind of man you would want to be your mentor, grandfather, or teammate. I could listen to this man all day long
Could listen to Jerry talk all day long
Same here, I even read his book. He really takes time and great interest to understand people, everything about them, and that shows in his front office success.
Who else's heart sank when the logo said "I won't be here"☹️😢
Cyril Channie where are you going? Was she breaking the ice or is she tone deaf?
I wish he wasn’t old. I’d want Jerry West around forever.
True, I wish we could clone #44

Jerry West is the best He recruited James Worthy, Shaq, and Kobe and Phil Jackson
JERRY WEST is really the GOAT if we think about it . He has won in every level of life
Came across this inadvertently and loved it to the max. Jerry West is the BEST there is 🏀
Jerry West man is the real deal Logo himself. The man is a genius a icon and one of kind legendary.
Mr Clutch is a true gentleman, he was such a great player, and he was one tough SOB on the court even though he's not remembered that way. You are exactly right. Jerry West was as good as it gets.
if the 3 point line was around the 60s, he would get 32-35k points.. easily from 25k he has currently.
If he had the 3pt line in west's time he would be the all time leading scorer.
Jerry West's pull up jumper is still the greatest of all-time.
Jerry is a national treasure!!!
Jerry West , A True Class Act!
lakers biggest mistake of recent is not re signing him when they went the magic johnson route. true legend. looks good in dodger colors !
who needs magic or west when u got the king lmao. king is the player the coach the president the gm
You mean the King who won 30 games and missed playoffs in West?? Overrated weakass Princess.

@@apt62 Yeah, the greatest free-throw shooter of all time is really gonna air-ball two free-throws and not even touch net.
It was Kobe

Jerry West Is Too Sharp. I Can See Why So Many Players Love And Appreciate Him
Jerry the goat he just lowkey started recruiting Giannis...smh

Jerry West is the goat.
jerry west really has some special vibe
La Lakers made a big mistake letting Jerry West the logo go. Now he is a consultant for the LA Clippers since 2017..
Golf is an ok game, but I'm here for the basketball.

Golf will not keep a person from robbing and stealing. People are gonna do what they feel they need to do.
Jerry, golf is very expensive to play.
Golf is a rich person's game.

Jerry West 1-9 in the finals
So what? He went against a better team..he couldn`t win on his own
against the fucking boston celtics, only finals mvp who lost the series
still better than any player who has played since Jordan retired, except for Kobe
