That thin "floppy" section on your ctenanthe is one of it's natural propagation method! It will grow these thin stalks that will fall on the ground and root a couple of feets away from the main plant :)
I love the monkey tail curls 🐒!!! It gives it character 😃. You do a fabulous job making the most of your space, I totally understand. Your home looks very nice and cozy. Thanks for sharing🙏🌺🌴
Fern, you so quickly became my favorite RUclipsr! Watched like all your stuff and am so excited whenever you post~ you're vibe is so calm and it really feels like I'm at a friend's place helping them with planty chores ❤️ thank you for what you do Fern! You are so good at making your audience feel included and apart of your journey and I just wanted to go on here and let you know how much you do for your community 😊
Hi Fern, cacti need a winterbreak in cool temperatures, they dont need a lot of light them, because they are sleeping, they stop growing. Most cacti are no houseplants, but extremists.
Your Ctenanthe cuttings will root from the joints. I propagated mine that way. People told me it takes forever to root, but mine rooted quickly. I propped mine in water.
Wire moss poles got easier for me when I got proper wire cutters. Then it got much easier when I started using a Dremel with a cutting wheel and vibration dampening gloves. I'm old and arthritic but... Damn it was an amazing difference.
I love the monkey cactus as it is! I love letting my plants do they're thing. Maybe hang it up there but make sure the light still hits the top. Love it!
My new year consists of plant chores, house chores and purging (everything but plants). I find the cleaning portions of plant chore videos to be so relaxing.
Girl, if this beauty (Amydrium Medium Silver) wasn’t so expensive I’d grow it now. In my state things seem to be even more expensive than elsewhere in the states. I’m building my collection ever so slowly with tiny planties and suffering losses with TC plants that are the hardest to keep happy. I wish 😊
Ohh boy, do I need to do this! Putting your blinds up during the day would let in alot more light. With all the plants in front of it, nobody would be able to see much from the outside. At night is a different story lol.
You can pull the sliding window out of the frame. Usually you just have to push it up and it will come off the bottom track and pop out so you can wipe the other side. Learned this shortly after I started taking care of plants. I lived in the south and the pollen that accumulated on the windows was insane. I had to clean them at least once a month through spring and summer or they would just be covered in a yellow film. Love the video, that space looks so nice now!
im in phase of not enjoying my plants enough and i guess i could get into more "common plants" and give them petter living enviroment, it will be hard but i think its better to give better live to plants i dont have to pay 100s of euros for than buy expensive plants and having hard time with them hope ill dont loose interesed fully, this past few weeks were pretty hard with enjoying plant so wish me luck, love your content and you as a person, thank you
You picked the perfect cuttings to go in the strawberry vase! They just look like oversized normal green foliage that one would find on a strawberry;) and I love how you don’t hold back when propagating your plants. Its cause if you that I learned that this was a thing! Now I struggle to limit myself on propagating just due to limited space 😆
Right hahah I thought so too 🍓 and yessss - I love starting plants over from scratch, it's so satisfying to watch them grow into a better version of themselves.
There is a cleaner you can attach the sprayer with the cleaner in in or comes with it that you can use to clean your outside windows. You can spray right through the screen. Then it gets left to dry. Not supposed to be streaky. Dries clear.
Love your plant video, you are a good mom I have many plants also, but having trouble with, my scindapsus moonlight. Thanks for sharing,if you have any suggestions on her let me know .😅
Monkey tail Medusa! 😃 I would leave her to grow wild. Your hair fits a ponytail woohoo! Your collection is always beautiful. It's amazing how you manage to find spaces for all your plant babies.
Hi there 😊I have over 100ish plants I would say lol but I don’t have the courage to cut or propagate them unless I have to. I want to cry thinking about it😢but I always luv watching u do it so relaxing thanks for that :)
Your videos are so satisfying. And your plants are GOALS! How long should aerial roots be before I chop my verrucosum? Thank you for making me an adventurous planty person!
Ahh thank you so much! If you're growing them into a moss pole or the likes I'd wait until they're an 1.5 inches or so long. If you're wanting to propagate into water it doesn't matter how long they are, they will grow even if they are not visible yet :)
The gloriosum will be fine on your cabinet, it won't crash down 😊. It looks really good up there. I have my billietiae on my m.wide and it's pretty heavy.
Absolutely love this type of content 🥰🥰 Especially now! All my window frames got replaced and tomorrow I get to put all my plants back at the new windows🥰
How to clean windows outside, go to big box store buy a squeezy sponge or cloth combination with a long handle. use a pan big enough to put the cloth in without any trouble.use water and vinegar to clean your windows, don’t forget the clothe to wipe the water off the squeezy.
fern, Ive got three big heavy plants on my milsbo, they've been there for two months without an issue. it's a great surface for extra plants! your gloriousum looks amazing on there!
What if you created plant curtains/blinds do that you could pull your blinds more of the way up or all the way up? That would bring more light into the space but also give the plants more light! I feel like they are already doing 80% of the work😅
I love your videos, I just need something to tune out off this crazy world with 💕 Don’t worry about your videos being too long, I always love your long videos!
About the Ctenanthe growing habit, the tiny wine are supposed to crawl on the soil to became a new plant in nature. But where it is in a pot them just stick out with no sense upword.
HOORAY! Haven’t started watching yet,Lol! 😁 Edit: I was to excited to get a new video from Fern! Love the clean up and looks so much more organized and better! Good job! Natalie 💚🪴
My monkey tail is doing the exact same thing! I was hoping she'll thicken up when spring comes around. Do you think? I remember the video when you got yours 🥰 Spindly or not, she's grown so much!!
I wondered if your gloriosum will turn her leaves towards the window. It would be sad to just see her backside. You’ve done a huge job rearranging the top of the cabinet, it looks so nice now. Thanks for an entertaining video Fern.
It shouldn't be an issue to have your Gloriosum on the Milsbo wide, it can definitely support the weight. I only have a Milsbo tall but I use the top of it for storage. It's stronger than you would think
I enjoy your plant chores always. Everything looks so fresh and clean and ready for spring now. I love the song that closes out your videos. Who is the artist?
Did you cut your hair to even it out? It looks very cute. Just heard on the news this morning that bangs and bobs are in this year. You’re right on top of that trend! 😊
Your monkey tail has gotten so full I love it. And wow, I think this is the first time ever I've seen your windows without blinds and it looked so much better. Blinds are so not the vibe
You should get a Philo summer glory! It’s a cross between gloriosum and McColley’s Finale and I think you would love 🥰 I just got one and it’s absolutely stunning with its leaves that come in pinkish/orange and sheeny leaves ❤️
I am so intersted in them! The finish of the leaves and the colour look so gorgeous. I had people telling me not to get one though so it put me off 😭 still curious to see one in person though, I hope they start popping up in stores.
Love the Monkey tail! ❤ It has so much character. I would leave it this growing season to see how it is going to develop by itself. Maybe the thin parts will become thicker. You never know. 😉
I did struggle with it a little at first, but now I find her sooo easy. I've grown her from a tiny plant (the leaves were't more than a couple of inches long!) and she brings me so much joy. Definitely recommend.
Watched to the end! I have a strawberry planter just like yours! ♡ I have a tiny dancer alocasia in it. I have some weird head pots too. Pot heads? Haahaa Thanks for another great video!
I tried growing the amydrium silver and it died within a month of receiving it. I consider myself pretty good at taking care of plants but I did not have success with it ☹️ I really wanted to have one in my collection
If you feel exposed having the blinds up why don't you maybe invest in those rainbow/stain glass looking privacy screens that you can get on Amazon? -just cause you could have your blinds up and your plants get more light. Just a thought😊
Do you get any cold damage on your plants on windowsill? I would love to put mine there in winter because of great lighting but afraid the cold might get them.
I have a rooted two leaf cutting of an amydrium medium, it’s in pon, but it’s kinda not doing anything for a good couple of months now 🤷🏻♀️ It’s alive, it lost one leaf since “ponning” it two months ago, but now nothing… and more nothing 😑

Keep the monkey in all his wonky vibes! I’ve never seen one as squirrely as yours and I love it
Lol squirrely! That's a good word for it 😂
i agree!! hes so unique and wild
Agreed
I just bought a monkeytail and I can't wait for it to grow!
I'm loving the monkey tail cactus! He's totally giving Kraken 🐙 vibes.
He is hahaha
That thin "floppy" section on your ctenanthe is one of it's natural propagation method! It will grow these thin stalks that will fall on the ground and root a couple of feets away from the main plant :)
I broke my leg recently and had to get surgery and I’ve been stuck at home and your videos are keeping my mental health up, thank you!
Oh nooo - hope you have a speedy recovery ❤️🩹 so glad to hear I've been helping to keep your spirits up x
I love the monkey tail curls 🐒!!! It gives it character 😃. You do a fabulous job making the most of your space, I totally understand. Your home looks very nice and cozy. Thanks for sharing🙏🌺🌴
Awe thank you! And you're right, it does give him character.

Keep the monkey tail cactus. Name it “Medusa” !!
My new year consists of plant chores, house chores and purging (everything but plants). I find the cleaning portions of plant chore videos to be so relaxing.
I have been doing plant chores the minute I started this video. You always inspire me to move plants around and to propagate!!
Needed this video today! Thank you for the wonderful and uplifting content Fern
Thank you so much 🥺💖 enjoy!!

I saw on facebook people putting milsbos on top of milsbos so I think you are good!
No wayyyy lol!
I can honestly say after giving away 18 plants and reorganizing everything feels so refreshing. Your monkey tail in a face planter would be adorable.
Yeah it feel so good 🙌 and ahhh it would, I will have to keep my eye out for one.
Ohh boy, do I need to do this! Putting your blinds up during the day would let in alot more light. With all the plants in front of it, nobody would be able to see much from the outside. At night is a different story lol.
Yeah true, I probably should open them all the way.

@@wildfern Thank you, fingers crossed for you to get through anything that could slow you down with your passions :)

I just did this for my little sister with all of her plants on her window sills, feeels sooo good once it’s done

Hi Fern, it looks so good, great job!! Off to go through my extra pots that can be donated!!
Nice!! I really need to go through mine too.
Interested to see the amydrium cuttings root, I couldn't get my one leaf cutting to root in water(and lost its leaf)so trying moss and perlite now...
Good luck! Perlite is definitely my back up plan.
I wondered if your gloriosum will turn her leaves towards the window. It would be sad to just see her backside. You’ve done a huge job rearranging the top of the cabinet, it looks so nice now. Thanks for an entertaining video Fern.
Yeah she probably will :( That's the tough part about having plants in windows, I don't get the best view of them.

Weird vibes monkey tail is precious, especially that right side little claw🥰 - I say keep him as is

i see some people finding gloriosum in big box stores . Is that a hard plant to keep? yours is beautiful. looks in perfect condition.

I tried growing the amydrium silver and it died within a month of receiving it. I consider myself pretty good at taking care of plants but I did not have success with it ☹️ I really wanted to have one in my collection
I find they can be difficult unless they are established. Which makes me nervous restarting mine 😬
your gloriosum definitely deserves that near-window space
Hi Fern, what do you add to the water that you’re propagating the cuttings in?
Superthrive :)
If you feel exposed having the blinds up why don't you maybe invest in those rainbow/stain glass looking privacy screens that you can get on Amazon? -just cause you could have your blinds up and your plants get more light.
Just a thought😊
I have two frog enclosures a water purifier and a bunch of plants on my wide
Do you get any cold damage on your plants on windowsill? I would love to put mine there in winter because of great lighting but afraid the cold might get them.
I don't, but we usually don't have freezing temperatures here.
Monkey Tail: Roll with its vibe.
I have a rooted two leaf cutting of an amydrium medium, it’s in pon, but it’s kinda not doing anything for a good couple of months now 🤷🏻♀️
It’s alive, it lost one leaf since “ponning” it two months ago, but now nothing… and more nothing 😑
I have some small cuttings that didn’t ever do anything too. My fingers are crossed for these larger ones 🤞
Wont the gloriosum take even more light away from the room and make it darker inside?
It will definitely block some light, I'll have to see how it goes.
Dont worry dear! :D I have there a lot of plants and Ikea is good for this things :D
"Set it and forget it" LOL
Roll with the Monkey Tail's uniqueness!!!
I shall I shall :)
Your cactus is awesome !let him live his life please.
I shall I shall
Can I ask what camera you use to shoot your videos?
Oh let Little Monkey Tail keep on Growing! I love his 🐒

Yeah true. Phew. Thanks!
Love how the monkey plant is wonky!

It might, I could try that!

Ooooh , haircut? Cuuuuuute 🥰
Keep the odd plant as it is
Put some pothos cuttings in with it and it'll root faster
OMG 15 seconds into the video ... your hair is soooo freakin cute!!!
Aww thank you Lyne 🥰🥰🥰
