Ane is a Nestor for the current generation of Norwegian singer-songwriters. And I agree - how she transposed the chords for her guitar is just brilliant. And Ane's version also gives credit to Aurora's songwriting. Again demonstrating how Aurora's songs hold up performed almost "rock-like" at stadiums, multi-layered on albums while they also hold up almost best when "stripped"/unplugged. Her songs have very strong "cores".
Great reaction, guys! This musical encounter between AURORA and Ane Brun is one of the most beautiful and touching moments I have ever seen in a documentary! Ane's voice almost brings to mind Edith Piaf (well, it does actually bring her to mind). And Ane's guitar playing is so accomplished! The difference between Aurora's and Ane's versions may be in part the emotional focus and expression -- Aurora is channeling an essentially inward/outward connection to the world, and in my mind Ane is focusing in on the underlying sense of sadness in this process. Anyway, just me reflecting on it. Others will probably have different interpretations.
Giving you a lot of credit, sir. If not for your note the other day, I might have unintentionally overlooked the significance of this day for Aurora and her fans beyond it being the same birthday as my wife's. - Greg
If you watch any more songs from the HAIK concert you might notice that Ane Brun came to the concert and stayed for the whole thing too. She's wearing a bright rainbow coat (but no glasses ) I can imagine many artists agreeing to the solo performance for their own profile, but not hanging around for the main concert, so I see this as an indication that Ane actually likes Aurora's music and respects her as an artist, too. Nobody would have expected a busy artist and businesswoman to stay all evening, so I guess that she wanted to be there for the show.
My favourite too :-). What’s fun on the Haik documentary is that immediately prior to this Aurora plays to two of her fans as a surprise and immediately afterwards she is given this surprise and gets to fan girl Ane!
I loved watching the whole documentary (haik) was really interesting! Ane's cover is superb and her voice so velvety smooth... i remember seeing Robyn cover a song of Bjorks in front of her. That was good to watch too!
Great reaction, as always. The HAIK is a really wonderful documentary. Thanks to Christine Dancke and NRK for this. The video that I remember most from Ane Brun, is Do You Remember: ruclips.net/video/1lI30Qw69AQ/видео.html

although not my favorite Madrugada song, "Madrugada feat. Ane Brun - lift me" is great. (Madrugada is a band from the north of Norway, formed in 1993 and disbanded in 2007 after the death of their guitarists Robert Burås. The vocalist Sivert Høyem has made 6 solo albums and is the vocalist for the band Paradise.)
That intro just gave me a heart attack lolll. See if y’all can fix your audio levels in whatever program you’re editing the video in. The music and your intro and your talking voice part should all be similar volume.

@@intothemusic908 tell her "Happy B-Day" as well from the Warriors & Weirdo's.
Ane Brun has also toured with Peter Gabriel in 2010. :-)
There is an awesome duet of Ane and Peter doing "Don't give up"
