Glad to see a Christian that actually understand anxiety. Most preachers when they tackle it clearly have zero understanding concepts like generalized anxiety and panic disorder and assume you've just got your priorities messed up.
Anyways, long time sufferer of severe panic attacks that occur completely out of nowhere. God is in control though and once I gave it back to him they have occurred less than they used tom

Thank You brother. I have the counter-intuitive fear of Death, even as a believer. It was present before I received Christ and Returned 8 years later after receiving him. You can probably understand how concerning this has been. I had thought the Fear was Gone and God had delivered me from it, but I now see myself returning to the Fear I once knew. The enemy has used this season to try and coerce me to stop believing in Christ, But I will not, regardless of the Fear.
I think I may need to see a brother like you in my area for counselling and prayer. I can attest to Panic attacks feeling awful. I understand the Meaning of dread. I wouldn't wish it upon anyone.

He always does. Sometimes he allows us to go through rough seasons in order to draw us closer to him.
I'm seeking treatment and medication from a doctor as I may have clinical depression and panic disorder.
I have my first appointment coming up.
      Thank you.

Just know that this life is as close to Hell as a son of God will ever see.
There is joy and peace awaiting us in our Father's house.
This pain is temporary. Hold onto the hope you have in Jesus. He will pick you up and help you persevere till the end.

I’ve been going through anxiety from ptsd for so many years, and it wasn’t until I accepted Christ that I found peace. I do still have panic attacks every few months or so for unknown reasons, but I’m so much better these days. I’d of course love to learn to stop the panic

Hi sweety, I'll pray for you. There are so many Christian based tools to use to help you find peace, and the Holy Spirit is bringing them to you. Just focus on one at a time and pray for help from the Holy Spirit to help you renew your mind in dealing with toxic thinking. I'm busy doing that and it has been such a blessing and I've come a long way. God Bless :) xx

Is it good to stay in the house and relax ? I panic thinking about going out of the yard. I need to work. I am a massage therapist and only go out when I have clients . There and straight back. If I have to go somewhere like church, work, to the store, I get so full of anxiety. So, should I stay home until I get it together? This came on about two months ago.

If you're still going through this,
You probably gotta take baby steps and train yourself and believe that you're in safe hands. Try going to church, try going outside. If you panic, it won't be forever. Get yourself around good friends who will cheer you on. God's not going to let you out of his righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

There's nothing wrong with going inside to relax, unless you can only relax in your home. The goal is to be able to be relaxed anywhere you go. But that's not easy, and you'll need to learn how to get there by practicing.

I've tried a lot of these techniques and i never wanted to end my life more than when doing these because I had no true hope. and what I've seen and come out with. is that sin isn't even mentioned here. anxiety is sin because we don't focus on God, and we try and do things ourselves instead of relying on God. anxiety is not a disorder. it is a sin issue. the feelings are real and i will never look those off. but we have to get to the root of the anxiety. anxiety separates yourself from God that's why God says be anxious for nothing because anxiousness in incompatible with a trust in God. all these techneques don't fix the heart issue. only the outside of us and it's only temporary. true peace comes through God and His Word (the Bible) Romans 8:28; 1 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:12 are all great passages to meditate and lean on for true hope. and then you will find rest for your troubled and anxious soul. it only comes through faith in Jesus Christ. Colossians 2:8 says, "see to it that no one takes you captive by philosophies and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ." psychology is a human tradition and a philosophy of the world. if you do your research on psychology you will see it is not Biblical founded on, rather made up from people who denounce the existence of God and what Jesus Christ has done. no true hope will come from manmade beliefs. only faith in Jesus Christ and what He has done to defeat anxiety and other sinful habits we partake in. i will clarify this is 100% not an attack on Mr. Cambell as i have not ever met him. He seems like a very nice gentleman. this is a critique on the methods being used to help anxiety. i have been through integration treatments and biblical counseling treatments, and i can say biblical counseling is the way to go for sure.

Our brains are physical parts of our bodies, and as such, experience physical challenges sometimes. If you go to the Doctor when you have a physical injury, get surgery, maybe take medication for an infection or for pain, etc. then why not see someone that is a Christian that specializes in challenges that are brain-related? CBT seems Christian to me, because it follows what I see in Philippians 4:8-9 and Romans 12:2, where we change our patterns of thinking from wrong thinking to right thinking, according to Biblical truth.

Amen Brother! I have had what is called "General Anxiety Disorder" most of my life and last couple years have started to get Panic attacks. In the last couple of years I started to deeply ponder the Anxiety issue alot and have tried looking at it through the lens of Scripture vs what the world and "Psychology" says anxiety is. Anxiety at it's core is rooted in fear. Now our bodies respond to this fear and as such the physical symptoms that are experienced are very real but at their core there is a spiritual basis to them. God tells us so many times not to fear. To go against that is to sin. Now many will say and I have struggled with this myself where we say "I can't control that". "I can't control how my body reacts and how my mind reacts". I don't believe that to be entirely true. We do have a element of control over our minds which then in turn influences our bodies. We can choose to focus on scripture and solely on God's Word. No one says this is always easy to do. If anything it is very, very hard to do at times but nonetheless we can do so. Ultimately in conclusion I do believe anxiety is a sin issue and really a belief issue when it comes down to it. Now that is not to say that medicine and therapies cannot also help with these disorders but I ultimately believe the true healing of the core issues come from God's Word.

I was talking to a man who told me that it was normal to have fears of the unknown , because Jesus feared in the Garden and knew fear.... but he is not reading the scriptures properly, because Jesus said do not fear.....Jesus feared when his hour came.... not before but Only when the act was upon him, when he entered into his passion not a second before hand...
Anxiety is a fear of the unknown or the irrational.. both are anti scripture hence Jesus told us not to Fear... If we do we go against his word and anxiety develops as do irrational fears and thoughts.... Christ is always the answer. DO NOT FEAR I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS EVEN UNTO THE END OF THE WORLD>>>>>>>>>...Jesus is my therapist.
