I frequently do that with my daughter, my dad and my best friend. When we both see the joke coming way before the various parts have intersected to make it funny. It’s the fact that our humour is so tuned to one another, the realization that we are all on exactly the same wavelength is even funnier than the joke to come and silent belly laughs with tears flowing down cheeks is the inevitable result. It’s magical to share that with someone. My absolute favorite thing.
RFC3514 Detecting mild sarcasm. I meant in regards to their personalities. On screen its often portrayed the other way in their sketches that David plays the more refined, solid characters and Robert the more common, flaily characters. Green clarinet man being a fine example.
***** - Well, you could just as easily have mentioned the Hennimore sketches, where Robert is the everyman and David is the crazy boss, or the historian sketches where Robert plays the serious director and David plays the (literally) very flaily presenter. And those aren't their _personalities_, anyway, they're characters. If you watch them in interviews (as themselves), Rob is generally the "quieter" of the two.
Haven't you ever had a funny idea or come up with a funny joke and laughed to yourself about it? Then when you tell the next people, they might find it funny but you've sort of laughed it out. This is sort of the case with their show. They probably rehearse a bit before the takes and then there will likely be takes where they lose it and have to start over.
@@SammyC27 the idea of someone forcing anyone to pee without their consent, especially a celebrity like Tom Cruise, is amusing. What is also kind of amusing is how the panel conversation somehow lead down that weird road XD
All I can imagine is Tom Cruise on the toilet, reacting exactly the same way as Greg Davies in his Graham Norton story where he accidentally ends up wearing his mother's knickers in a school: *"Oh God, oh no! You loser, this is such a low point!"*
I love it when Rob and David just end up in random conversations between the two of them. I remember there was another programme David was presenting (called The Bubble) where they were chatting to each other and completely blanking Miranda Hart and Shappi Khorsandi even though they were there as well as David and Rob.
OMG as soon as I see Mitchell and Webb I just crack up cos I know something hilariously funny is coming!! lol. Thank you for all the memories guys, hopefully more to come!
That's what I thought, I'm really not sure if he crying with laughter, the tears came on rather quickly :\ although I don't know feelings what "Tom Cruise having a wee without consent" could bring on!
Well he's laughing his ass off and trying his best to contain it. Tends to happen to me sometimes, you just laugh and cry and break down as a total incoherent mess and everyone looks at you mildly amused
You mean you don't know the whole urine backstory between Webb and Cruise? I for one applaud Webb's bravery here and think it could be genuinely helpful to other people who have wee trauma with Tom Cruise.
It's not really well known, but David Mitchell can make shadowclones of himself. It's really weird and he doesn't use it all that much except to serve as an audience member for his own shows, you know, test the experience from the crowd. ...and a series of SAS airdrops over central asia in 2011 but those files are classified.
This happened to me last night. I found something insanely funny and nobody else really got it. I cried with laughter. I enjoyed it even more because my buddies didn’t have a clue what was going on.
We’ve all been there, you can’t breath cos something has killed you yet people around aren’t quite sure what has done ya!!! Yet, they are cracking up cos you are........it’s one of life’s great gifts it truly is.
You can see that their long partnership is based on the joy they get from making each other laugh. I hope Robert's in robust good health these days, wish we could see him more.
This is the funniest thing i have ever seen on telly. It gives me such a feeling of giddy hilarity it's almost like the feeling you get in the pit of your stomach when you drive over a humpback bridge.
This took me a second to get and I did the same hand gestures because I was laughing and thinking wtf 😂 Mitchell and Webb are just amazing even when they're not a duo
Wish they did more That Mitchell & Webb look. But it would take away from the legendary final sketch they did. It truly is worthy of standing alongside Blackadder Goes Forth Finale for its emotional impact
He skipped the laughter and just went straight to tears lol
like when he broke down during the interview..
@Elite Mangudai no, when he joined the cult

He’s remembering when Jez needed Mark’s permission to pee himself at Marks wedding to Sophie 😂
Crazy that Roberts laugh is so confined and controlled yet David has an explosive laugh.

RFC3514 Indeed I could have done, I just found it odd as I'm used to often seeing them that way around in a their sketches.

If that was his reaction to Tom Cruise having a wee without his consent, how the fuck did he film half his lines for Peep Show?
You're telling me to piss myself?
Whats next? fuck myself? eat myself? XD
hohohomum Loads of takes

Really want to see more of Robert Webb. He’s such a funny and likeable guy.
Read his book if u haven't already, it's great!
After all that unhinged shit he said about Corbyn? Nah pass on him mate
@@HahaDamn What did he say?
Too bad he's a transphobe

Tom Cruise: I DIDN'T CONSENT TO THIS!!
You can see why they were such a great comedy writing team.
I almost forgot those guys were comedy partners.
I love watching David and Robert on panel shows together - they're so funny!
Still are
Best mates in real life and were each others best man at their respective weddings.
@@andyc6542 that's adorable
A discussion about toilets must have been rather uncomfortable for Tywin Lannister
Actually, if he'd made a habit of using only public toilets he's have been fine, as he'd have been safer if there were some potential witnesses about.
Cruitheach triggered
He should have bolted the door. Then he himself wouldn't have been.

This takes me back to that episode from Peep Show during Marks wedding when he orders Jez to pee on command
"Piss myself: stop pissing myself?"
@@apexmarbella “I’m so pathetic that as soon as you order me to piss myself I’ve started the procedure”
I couldn’t help but think about this exact episode as well. So god damn brilliant.

Fuck my self? Eat myself?
for fuck sake don't visualize tom cruise having a wee without his consent, I nearly laughed up a lung
This is one of my favorite things. I have to come back to it every few months to recharge.
Only when the clip had finished, I suddenly imagined Tom Cruise having a wee without his consent and cracked up into tears.
Same, I read a few comments and it hit me out of nowhere.
Didn't expect to find a Kripperino out here. Especially not Balderino
i still don't get it... ??

Hahahaha, David and Robert clearly can't keep a straight face between them.
I'd live to think this is how most brainstorming sessions go with just David and Robert in a room.
I love when laughter is contagious!
'and he's been working on it for like a month'
Jack Reilly Yep he taught himself to laugh to the point of tears for a one minute bit that didn't even make the show, genius.

This is one of my favorite clips of Robert Webb. A gentleman of comedy
Robert *is quietly laughing trying to control himself*
David halfway into the joke "HAHAHA" ..
I love this clip! Get contagious laughter every time. The fact Jeremy is with Mark makes it even better. 😊

@@drizzlyadams1447 well that is outrageous!!
I just weeed myself laughing, and very much without my consent, so it is technically possible, Robert.

I miss Robert Webb, we don't see much of him anymore.
He has a radio show with Mark Lamarr
They should have left this scene in :)
His little baby teeth are the funniest thing about him.
I can't believe THAT's what broke Robert's character. Hahahaha.
It’s a tragedy it only lasted a season.

Everytime I laugh more than a snirk. I look like I've been crying

Tom Cruise weeing without his consent gives men the true laugh/cry moment.
I was actually crying watching this :-D

Damn. We’ve reached the point where a decade old youtube clip looks this good.

There are people asleep in the house and I was trying not to laugh and instead squeaked really loud. lol damn it
funny thing hes actually right. in his old days he might wee without his own consent

Why was there never a series 2? :(
This is a beautiful insight into what I imagine their writers room was like
Risky Rob. Losing manly control in front of Tywin Lannister.
Well he was safe enough, he hadn't been gutting a clown in an earlier scene, so there was none of the required foreshadowing...
MR. CRUISE YOU _HAVE TO WEE!_
NOOOOOOOO!!!!
If you wee while you're asleep is that non-consensual
If this isn't the most beautiful moment on british tv
Why was his ever an outtake? Has me in stitches every time
Because its quite clearly a euphemism (and had legal ramifications) something seemingly entirely missed by everyone here.
