Just did this job this week. Had a heart attack when I took the upper ball joint off, the brake line has a cover on it that was full of water, thought I broke the line when all the water ran out....
Thanks for the video. I was able to replace both my front struts on a 2019 high country 4x4 by just taking the sway bar loose. Do you think the service directive assumes you use a strut compressor??
How does this ride? I am thinking of doing this to my 19 but don’t really like the idea of messing with the springs. Thought about full coilovers but was told the springs on aftermarket coilovers are too stiff
Im not really sure it's not my truck but I would think it's pretty close to stock it's not really alterating the spring just raising the "body" a little higher off the spring
Mine is a 2019 Silverado, but same color as yours and everything is also exactly like yours, as it should be. Everything I have seen in video or on forums says that the lowest setting should restore stock factory ride height. BS!!! It lowered my truck 2" measured at the front bumper. I used the same point of reference (top of license bracket) for all of my measurements. After each try I also drove the truck 50+ miles to allow everything to take a "set". On first try I used the bottom lock ring position and got 2" lower than stock. On the second try I went up two notches, which is supposed to gain me those 2". NOT! it only brought it up 1-1/2". Still nowhere near stock factory height! SO, now I will go to the top lock ring position to try to get that last 1/2" of height. I thought each lock ring position was supposed to gain an inch! In theory, according to Bilstein, I should already be riding nose-high! Anybody else experience this with their swap?
Did you get this figured out? There are 2 models available for GM trucks - those for AT4/Trailboss and those for everything else. Do you have the Trailboss and got the standard ones by accident?
Any clue on why the shocks would be making noise when mounted with the oem parts and on the 2-inch setting on the Bilsteins. 2020 Chevrolet Silverado Rst 3.0l diesel.
The hardest thing is compressing coil spring everything else was pretty easy only stuff I didn't show was places where you can't get a camera . Honestly if someone thinks it's hard to remove the shock they should prob leave it to the pros.
"just kind of beat this off"... I've been training my whole life for this moment
In all seriousness, thanks for this video. Im getting ready to do this to my 2021 Silverado here next week.

Same thing just happened to me lol
Thanks for this video. Much appreciated! It's enough info that i think, for me, i will pay somebody to do the front. God bless!

Not to remove the strut but if you are changing the strut then yes
Man I really appreciate it. Watching as I’m doing
Finished. Again appreciate it
Nice video, the best part is the Ginger saying gingerly when removing the shock
This is the only vid I could find that gave me an idea for my 22 Ltd they can do it 😂, thanks brother

Did this on 2020. Definitely recommend.
I left the small metal rancho spacer inside on the shaft. Do you feel that will give any issues ?
You should be ok

It seemed like this truck sat pretty level but I didn't measure it.
Yours must have the factory 2" lift such as the AT4 model?

informative video. thank you for sharing.

Only thing I can think of is maybe the mounting bolts on top are a little loose or the spring isn't well in the rubber
@@HooptiesGarage Thank you
Stock height for my 2020 RST was level 2
Giving me a belly ache listening to uh umm uh umm over and over! Just get to it man !!! Holy crap!!!

Will b almost the same like a 2021?!
Yeah they are exactly the same
all this talking making me more confused
I'm not a fan of not showing the hard stuff. Alot of it was "off camera". You should have shown all of it so we could see the easy AND hard stuff.

Is that a 2wd ?
I don't remember but I'm pretty sure it was 4x4
Did you reuse the stock bump stops ?
😂😂😂
