More sit down videos like this please! I love the vlogs and videos around the parks but a one on one sit down video gets us more screen time with our favorite vloggers!
I agree these videos are great!
I totally agree 😃💯
Agree. These are great fill-ins. People who don’t live here always want to know this information.
Totally agreed!!!!
I honestly would like to see a Universal spin on this, especially with their theming and just the overall feeling to them, I would love to see a top 5 Universal Hotels!!
Portofino Bay at Universal is my favorite hotel in the world. I would highly recommend it and the price is amazing considering you get Universal Express passes included with your stay
I second this!
@@cozy.kendall the spa there is phenomenal too
Yup Portofino Bay is tops. I’m a Polynesian lover at Disney, so you would think Royal Pacific would be my fave but Portofino Bay is far and away the best there.
Portofino hands down
Love the layout of this video and would really enjoy this “series “ expanded on. Top 5 table service; top 5 snacks etc.
This made me so happy to hear!!! I work at the wilderness lodge at the restaurants and let me tell you we all work very hard to make it the magical place that it is. Thank you Tim and Jen and Jackson! Hope to see you guys there one day!!!
As an older, retired person who does not travel with children I like the Wilderness Lodge and Grand Floridian as they tend to be more relaxing and have more sit down restaurants. It's also easier getting to the parks. We can't do full days anymore so transportation is a huge deal. I'm looking forward to seeing the Riviera as we haven't been back since it opened.
Wilderness Lodge is so wonderful. We stayed in a Cabin Christmas 2021 for a week. Hands down the best experience I've had at a Disney Resort vacation stay. Something my family will remember forever.
Baby Jackson 🥹 it’s so nice to see him growing up and becoming his own person, what a little buddy ❤️
The clips from their previous staycations made me so nostalgic 🥹 he’s not the little buddy he used to be size wise, but his personality has grown so much ☺️ so grateful to be able to witness him blossom into a beautiful person
Love the clips from your resort visits with baby Jackson! He’s getting so big!!
My wife and I recently bought into DVC at riviera while on a resort tour of the property on a recent Disney trip and part of the the reason we decided to buy at Riviera is that it definitely has a magical feel to it that Tim described. We are excited to stay there in the future!
This was such a fun format for a video. Very informative, and great reasons as to why you chose your picks!
My favorite go-to resort is Pop, we love how fun it is, the skyliner, and the non-pretentious vibes! The food is okay, typical food, but we can easily use the skyliner to try other resort’s food. And value is pretty important to us.
Lmao the non-pretentious vibes😂I love it. I think it’d be cool if they tried out more of the value and moderate resorts and room types as well instead of just the deluxe usually
Totally agree with your number 1 pick! Absolutely love staying there. In summer, it feels like glamping, and in the winter it feels like a ski lodge.
I’ve stayed at all Disney resorts (including DVC) except for the Boardwalk and Riviera. My top 5:
1.Polynesian
2.Grand Floridian
3.Wilderness Lodge
4.Port Orleans Riverside
5.Port Orleans French Quarter
6.Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House (added 6 because 4 & 5 are very similar)
Great topic Tim!
I’m with you…The Polynesian will always have my heart 💜 💜💜💜💜
@@tiaadams9264 👍 Seven Seas Lagoon area just feels like magic.
What about swan and dolphin?
I agree with your choices those resorts are awesome
@@lashleybrady1 They aren’t Disney owned and I haven’t stayed at those but Ive been to both and did not like the feel. Not much theming like Disney resorts but can be cheaper at times and great location.
Tim, I’ve been watching you for years now. This is an excellent and accurate take on the resorts. I have worked as a Travel Agent years ago, grew up in Florida and have been to every single resort except Riviera. You are spot on! Guests can rely on your information and have their best vacation. :)
I love videos like this. This definitely helps us choose the right resort - Thanks Tim!
He didn't mention pricing at all. I would suggest anyone who hasn't been to WDW before, or hasn't been in many years, use a good Disney travel agent. There is a huge price difference between the places he picked. Not a few dollars, HUGE!
As usually great video! When I go to WDW I always stay at the All Stars Movies, we don’t spend a lot on resorts because we only use them to sleep and to take a shower. I agree with you that it is just a food court but we go to eat to all the resorts in property. It is also in the Disney bubble and you have free transportation every where. Thank you for sharing
Great list Tim! Here's our Top 5 DVC Resorts as of this moment. We do have a week booked at The Riviera in December and Copper Creek next year, so the list may change. As of right now based on where we've stayed since becoming members - Here's our list!
1. Beach Club Villas
2. Polynesian Village
3. Old Key West
4. Saratoga Springs
5. Wilderness Lodge Boulder Ridge
Yes to the Fort! Fort Wilderness doesn’t get the love that it deserves. It’s unlike any campground that I have ever been to. It’s truly a special place!
I loved staying at ft wilderness at Christmas. It was so much fun.
I'm not sure how many he has actually stayed at, but I think you should do Jackson's Top 5 based on which hotels he enjoyed the most. That would give people an idea of which hotels are good specifically for young kids
What a great way to use old footage! I love this!
I’m in 100% agreement that Wilderness Lodge is #1. Never gets old. It’s a fine architectural specimen. I also had the same vibes off Riviera when walking from Caribbean and going through the area with the murals and fountains. It’s like fine China you don’t necessarily want to touch. You get the feeling the upper crust is staying there.
As someone who hasn’t ever been to Disney World this was so informative to me. Loved it and thanks for all the ideas. I hope to be able to enjoy a vacation there one day.
Loved this. Seeing Jackson little again was so much fun. Great choices.
Good talk with Tim!! Reminds me of the Podcast a bit, or even DFB! I like stuff like this that I can listen to as background noise while I work too!
We love this sit down videos ❤️
Excellent Top 5 WDW Resorts 👍🏻
It’s funny how differently the resorts rank to different people - I would always rank Yacht and Beach Club as the best resort on property due to the theming, fantastic feature pool Stormalong Bay, and location. I honestly don’t think the location can be beaten, being so close to Epcot, Hollywood Studios and the Boardwalk. We actually weren’t that impressed with Riviera - it looked like a normal, modern hotel from the outside, and felt quite generic compared to all the other deluxe resorts. Being that we’ve been to France and Italy, it didn’t really “feel” like the Riviera or capture the essence of the Mediterranean like the pavilions in Epcot do.
100% agree
I too love Yacht club. I feel for me it’s definitely in the top 5.
Agree! Riviera was so disappointing. (The rooms are beautiful decor and size- I will give it that.) Yacht Club is a top 3 for me!
This video (and comments) is such a service to folks like me who have never stayed at a Disney hotel / resort but have plans to do so.
5 hour dinner?!! Holy smokes! You could never keep me in one spot for so long.
Ever since Art of Animation was announced, I have always wanted to stay there, specifically at The Lion King section. But Fort Wilderness will always have a special place in my heart, as my family stayed at one of the cabins when we went for our Disney World trip in 2010. I'm impartial to Wilderness Lodge and the Grand Flordian and Key West, but Riveria looks interesting with the artwork aspect.
Love this video!! On our most recent trip we resort hopped and visited many new resorts that we had never seen before! I totally agree that the vibe of the Riviera resort is unmatched!!!
Great video and list!! Agree about the Riviera- can’t explain it but it really has an amazing feeling when we are there!! It’s our new favorite!! Staying there again in January!
We absolutely with your Top 5 and your honorable mention!! Great choices!!
What a fantastic video Tim!! I like this format a lot. Great job and awesome pick’s too 😊
I haven’t even watched the video yet, but I love you guys are doing this! I started watching you guys 5 years ago when planning a Disney trip and we are coming to Disney again in 2023 and I value your opinion so much! Please do more of these type of videos.
One of my favorite videos! Excellent content and editing!
This video made me feel so happy for you guys. I'm so glad you've had such wonderful experiences at the resorts and that you love and appreciate the "Disney feel". I totally understand that feeling you spoke of entering The Riviera!
I loved this. The best ive heard. Thanks for giving us your heart on this very controversial question of which is best. I found it very smart in every area, the way you explained. Thank you guys
Yay so excited for tracker favourites video :)
This is making me even more excited about our upcoming stay at the Riviera. Enjoyed this, thanks!
I stayed every hotel there except wilderness lodge and Rivera. My next trip would be Rivera. I grew up in the campground at Disney. It cost $11 when it opened. Had great memories!! Great video
Thanks Tim for this, it will help alot of us to figure out what resort might be best for vacations for us vacationers. In 2020 We were lucky to stay at Wilderness Lodge once before the pandemic got bad. It was so beautiful and food at 3 places was delicious, but Roraring Fork we ate from the most. We mobile ordered from our room the food was ready when we got down there. We went outside and enjoyed the sound of the waterfall or went back to room. We went to parks by bus, except Magic Kingdom We went by boat from the resort, it was awesome. It is expensive, and we may never get to go again, but it was wonderful. The rooms spacious clean and amazing. Our second vacation to Disney World was in May 2022, because of pandemic our money is low, so we stayed at the Holiday Inn at Disney Springs and it was a great cheaper place, good food and rooms were spacious clean and loved the pool view and fireworks view from our room, but we still missed Wilderness Lodge a little. Anyway, I hope Tim's information and my information will help people who planning to vacation down there. We drive 18 hours to go to vacation at Disney World and we had a Magical time on both times, hope to go a 3rd time in 2023. Thanks for all the information y'all give us it does help. Be Safe and Take Care ♥ ♥ ♥
Really enjoyed this video, Tim! I have heard such good things about Wilderness Lodge, and after seeing this video we will be trying it!
Glad to see you feeling better!
100% agree with the Fort Wilderness pick. I have such fond chlidhood memories from that resort and I feel like it's one of those places that -- if you're not a camper -- most people wouldn't go out of their way to visit. For that alone, it feels like a best kept secret. So much to do and so much to see! Walking around in the early morning, I spotted a deer, an armadillo, the horses, teeny tiny frogs and so much more. Love being out in nature and this is the certainly the closest I can get to it at WDW. :)
Thanks for picking my favorite as your number one! We love Wilderness Lodge.
My favorite resort is Pop Century! I’ve stayed there the last 7 times I’ve been to WDW. I hope y’all stay there sometime! ❤️
My favorite as well!
My husband and I have stayed there (POP) for about the last 7 years, trying to plan a trip to come in about a month, we would like to try a different resort since its a special birthday, but after seeing this video I"m really torn!!
Don't know if you have ever stayed at Coronado Springs? We Love it there! Great list by the way!
We LOVED staying at Caribbean beach resort this may, as a childless couple. The skyliner is ssssooooo convenient, I can’t imagine staying anywhere else now!
I 100% agree that Fort Wilderness has something for everyone. We went on a family trip of 15 people in 2018 ages ranging from 3 to 55 and everyone had a wonderful time
Fort Wilderness is a great place to stay, wonderful for families.Lots of fun outdoor activities to do with children. Our adult children still talk about all the fun memories we made there!
One of my greatest memories as a small child was the smell of the cafeteria in the value resorts (pop century, art of animation, all star, etc) in the morning & taking the busses. I work at the parks now, and really miss the hotel aspect of the Disney vacation.
Riviera is my favorite resort for sure. I LOVE the smell, its such a relaxing resort. I love seeing the skyliner, the fireworks from Epcot. Its not a giant resort to get around, the coffee bar is wonderful and the food is fantastic. If i had to choose I would go there or Polynesian. Those are my top 2.
Agree with you on a lot of reviews but no Epcot resorts is a little puzzling to me. So many great restaurants within walking distance and the fact that you can walk or take a boat to two parks and don't have to rely on the Skyliner. I thought that would fit the access to parks and restaurants that were qualifiers for this very well. What most people consider the best pool and two of the best water slides at the resorts are also in that area. You can also ride the Skyliner to Topolinos if it is a must do. We love the walk around Crescent Lake as a nightcap to a busy day at the parks and enjoy The Boardwalk entertainment and nightlife.
Epcot resorts are great too & Epcot is my favorite park but for me, the magical feeling I get staying around the seven seas lagoon, the castle around the corner, is unmatched.
Boardwalk 100% for me for EPCOT festival trips. Low point cost for DVC, and a short walk to both EPCOT and DHS! Also, so many restaurants nearby!
So right!! You have so many options for exploring, dining, entertainment, and transportation options. Truly centrally located. The theming, holiday additions, the views! The Boardwalk is absolutely my favorite resort, but if it's not you have 2 other Disney resorts to choose or you can go 3rd party with Swan and Dolphin! (Which is great for folks who have loyalty points, etc outside of Disney). There's also an on-site brewery there.
This is a real head scratcher for me to not include any of these resorts 🙀
Oh and I forgot! - literally walk right in access to Epcot. And a walking path to Hollywood Studios!
Art of Animation is one of my favorite! I’ve stayed at the Little Mermaid rooms and it is a nice quiet section and having the skyliner so close is fantastic and helpful
I haven’t stayed at wilderness lodge but it looked awesome definitely on my Disney bucket list my only problem with this would be as far a monorail resorts the Polynesian is by far the best
2 of my most criminally underrated WDW resorts are Pop Century and Port Orleans. I’ve stayed at both and they were both great resorts. Pop Century is usually our go-to. It’s cheaper than AoA, but still has the Skyliner, big food court, and similar theming plus the pools. I’d say it’s very “Disney-Immersive” as well. It’s my favorite in the value category.
As far as Port Orleans, both FQ and RS were very quiet and peaceful both times we stayed at each (pre-Covid). The grounds were very pretty, good food options because of the food courts, and transportation was easy to the parks. Also, Port Orleans has the boat to Disney Springs which is a nice perk. It’s my favorite in the moderate category.
Thank you.
Very informative vlog. We learned a great deal.
Good, solid list. Our favorite resort to stay is AKL because our kid loves the animals and my husband loves the food.
We completely agree with you on everything you said about Fort Wilderness. It is our home away from home.
I feel like the Swan & Dolphin/Swan Reserve resorts get overlooked really easily. I know they aren't technically Disney resorts but they pretty much get all the same perks, plus they're in literal walking distance or a boat ride away from TWO theme parks. There's also easy access to so many dining options - both at the resorts and the Boardwalk and even EPCOT if you're willing. I'm not sure they're the best on Disney property but they definitely seem to be the most underrated. I'm planning a trip to Disney next year and am hoping we get to stay at one of those!
This is a very thoughtful review. Lots of people jump on the bandwagon and proclaim Contemporary as the best with the proximity to MK and dining options; but what they don't tell you is the renovation was subpar (IMO) and most of the dining offers the same style of food (American/Steak/Seafood). Really appreciated the depth to this video!
I love this video. It's very helpful!
A shout out to Jen for such a great editing job - fantastic. My wife and I prefer Port Orleans French Quarter.
Agreed!
Thank u for this video! Please do this type of video someday with Disneyland!
Thanks Tim . This is a very fair review of those resorts.
Great list Tim I would love to stay at any of them but I think especially Wilderness Lodge 😍
I love this! I stay at a bunch of Disney resorts too this is a good video! I like how you said I look for in a resort is food sounds like me hahaha 🤪
I really appreciate vlogs like this from vloggers like you. Please do a Universal one too 🙏 many thanks! X
Thanks for the video, Tim! It really opened my eyes to the possibility of staying at the Riviera Resort, which I had previously not considered staying at.
We have 4 kids and love staying at Fort Wilderness. The full kitchen is great for having breakfast each morning and snacks at night. The boat over to Magic Kingdom is amazing.
Tim, I know you guys are still wanting to stay at Caribbean Beach. On that note, I have to say their breakfast is really good. They do a breakfast bowl similar to Satuly Canteen where you pick what goes into it. People were coming from other resorts to have it.
Chris and Susan from Long Island, NY
Riveria is awesome. Smaller venue equals less people. Restaurants on the property are fantastic! Art work is wonderful.
Have to agree with your number 1 choice. The food, amenities, proximity to the parks, and the transportation choices......Wilderness Lodge is my favorite place to stay.
We've stayed at most of the Disney hotels over the years and hands down our favorite has been Animal Kingdom. Just being able to see so many animals at all times of the day was incredible and the food there is fantastic.
We tend to stay at moderate resorts most of the time, or even the values if we want a longer trip without the bigger price tag. A few years ago though, as a "treat yourself" moment we stayed at Yacht Club for a few nights, and it was such an awesome stay! The pool and the location couldn't be beat, and the option to pop into Epcot for a quick breakfast or snack (in the pre- Park Reservation days, anyway) was just amazing. I've never seen a room there in our price range since.... But for our first trip back in a few years, we splurged on Wilderness Lodge in February 2022. It was by far the most special trip we've had. We LOVED Geyser Point, loved the peaceful vibes, loved waking up to our view over the treetops and onto the lake, loved the cozy fireplace in the lobby, loved the boat to MK. I think we found our new go-to "home". :D
Great video! I 100% agree that Wilderness Lodge is the best place to stay. I own DVC at Copper Creek!
I love Tim's honesty. As a family who travels with kids, hearing him talk about what Jackson likes is great. We are planning our first big (a week long) Disney trip with both our kids (7 and 3) next year. We are planning to stay at AoA and split it with either AKL (I've always wanted to stay there) and Wilderness Lodge. This video may have just persuaded us to choose Wilderness Lodge. I visited once to try Whispering Canyon and was blown away when I just walked in. Tim is right, the lobby is fantastic and amazing. Keep up the great work Tim and Jen. My family loves you guys and your adventures and unbiased advice.
With Littles in tow, I would also recommend Wilderness Lodge over Animal Kingdom Lodge (though it is beautiful). But if you're spending time in the parks, particularly MK getting there from AK Lodge is a true chore if you don't have a car. Wilderness has a boat that takes you to MK. (Not sure if it's back yet though since Covid) But they have a cute hidden Mickey scavenger hunt and fairly reasonably (for Disney) priced pony rides. Plus you can go over to where they have the smores and movies and also see Chip and Dale (free minus the cost of smores). There is definitely enough to do there to make for a fun and somewhat less expensive resort day (coming from a mom of 2 who are grown now ). Have a great time on your trip.
i would recommend wilderness lodge as well! the first time we went to disney, we stayed at the wilderness lodge (2007) my sister had just turned 5 and i was 7 almost 8. it was so much fun and i still have such vivid memories of the wilderness lodge (even more so than when we stayed at the beach club in 2011!
@@TheGoofy1932 you make a good point about getting to the parks. I’ve eaten at Jiko in AKL. It’s was a hike. I didn’t realize Wilderness Lodge had all that available. Will definitely really look into it now. Thank you!
@@jillmason2776 thanks for your input. I’ve only stayed at Port Orleans (both French Quarter and Riverside) as a kid. We usually stay in the parks for the most part. Usually stay off property but with littles I want them to have the full experience.
LOVED this - different categories would be great too! A Solo travelers one!!?
Awesome video. Ps your picture quality is unbelievable!
Wow! This was full of interesting info! Definitely wilderness lodge!😇
Great editing as always, Jenn! Must have been quite the job!
I loved every resort we’ve ever stayed at in WDW. They are all unique and amazing! We’ve stayed at Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge and POFQ. We will be back soon staying at POFQ. We just find it’s more cost effective and close to Disney Springs. Thanks for sharing your list!
We just spent the weekend at a Wilderness Lodge Copper Creek Cabin...wow we had a great stay!! Wilderness Lodge, Grand Floridian, and Riviera are our top faves!
desperately need a series on this tim and jenn! top 5 on just about everything would also like one on the ones you don't like or just aren't your cup of tea and why. i was shocked that the poly was not in the top 5 for yall, would like to know why!
thanks!!
Love the video!!! Hope whoever is reading this is having a great day! 😊
Solid list, Tim. Im really glad you gave a s/o to OKW, such an underrated gem. Really appreciate how you touched on Values, Mods, & Deluxes too! The only one in your list I'm not as high on is AoA - its just too expensive unless you have a family of 6. But the rest of your list is spot on!
Great list Tim. I'd add The Contemporary Resort - very good food overall and close proximity to Magic Kingdome (walk) and of course the Monorail. For more moderate pricing (sort of lol) I'd add Port Orleans French Quarter - yes, it is not the greatest access to the parks or the best food -with one caveat: you will find THE best beniets not to mention it is a quick boat ride to Disney Springs for great food and Shopping :)
I hope you guys go back to Fort Wilderness soon. I really enjoyed those vlogs!
Love wilderness lodge the most too! I would prefer these type of vids instead of home vlog life very informative
It would be interesting to see a top 10, non disney/universal hotel list. We usually stay at hotels on/around International Drive and it saves us lot of money.
Geyser Point...100% Great vlog .... thanks so much !!!
Can you do more videos ranking things like this? You guys have such knowledge of everything that it’ll be interesting to know your real opinions on what’s the best. I definitely agree with this list. I’ve only stayed at Art of Animation and Wilderness Lodge, but I love both SO MUCH
Great video, Tim, how hard was it to come up with the list? I know some people don`t agree, but everyone has different ideas about what they`re looking for in a resort, and I think he did a great job of laying out his reasons for each one. It was amazing to see Jackson at different ages, non of these visits seemed very long ago to me, but he was pretty young in some of them!
My favorite resort is Port Orleans - French Quarter. It feels so quaint and the theming is so good. Plus, beignets.
Kidani or animal kingdom lodge will always be my number 1 but i havent tried wilderness lodge and you touched on a bunch of stuff i didnt know it had so i will definitely be looking in to booking that at least once soon. Thanks for the video tim😊 hope you are fully recovered from your covid
Baby Jackson at the Wilderness Lodge is why it's #1. It's ok, I'm here for it! 🫶
We own DVC points at copper creek at wilderness lodge. I agree 100% with your number one pick!
Great information. Would like to know the starting price for their rooms of these places. A lot of us want to stay then can’t due to prices. Loved seeing pictures of how much Jackson has changed and grown.
Great video, Tim. I love that you had 2 Skyliner Resorts in your top 5. Topolino’s is fabulous & their chef is genius! He created a plant based meal the week I was there & it was absolutely delicious. Love Ft. Wilderness: very special place to feel at home at WDW. I want to stay at Wilderness Lodge! I would never refuse any stay at a monorail resort (all 3 are gorgeous) but I think I’d pick the Polynesian just because of Walt & I adore the Enchanted Tiki Room. Love you & your family’s videos!
We’ve stayed at all of these resorts. I think it’s a great list. Personally we like Boardwalk and that would be on our list in place of OKW. You are 100% about the feel of Riviera, that place is Magical.
