  • In today’s vlog we check into Disney World’s Art of Animation Resort! This is our first time staying here but we have toured the resort in the past. We so excited to be staying in one of the Finding Nemo family suites! These are 1 bedroom suites with tons of super cute Nemo and underwater themed things. They also have a Murphy bed and a pull out couch, so tons of sleeping space. We give a super detailed tour of the room and then we head to Landscapes of Flavor, which is the food location, where we pick up dinner. At the time of filming this video you had to mobile order your food but you also had the option to pick up some smaller items from the grab and go area as well. We ate dinner and dessert and then gave our review so far of the room and resort. Spoiler alert, we love it! This is such a great place for families and for anyone who just loves the animation aspect of Disney. There were so many cool things to see around the lobby and the entire resort. We’ll do some more exploring tomorrow so stay tuned for that! Thank you for watching and we’ll see you tomorrow with day 2 of our staycation!

I thought to let you know as I used to work there that when you walk in to the building everything is black-and-white as you start to walk through it starts to turn to colour by the time you get outside to the Nemo pool you’re actually the size of Nemo. When you walk through the Lion King area you are the size of an ant and when you walk to the Little mermaid area you are the size of Sebastian the crab.

It’s totally is, when we opened the resort we would use a scrips for example- if you swim this way or if you drive this way. I’m not sure if the cast members still do this, but if you check into the resort you may get something like that. You could ask a cast member we love to talk to you.

We stayed in a family suite at ASM (before the remodel) after we had checked out of our room and my then 15m old son was violently ill. Our room was "gone because we had checked out but the manager put us in the family room, for free. I couldn't believe his kindness. I made sure to call Disney and let them know how much I appreciated him. He even offered to help deal with magical express and our flights. He was amazing. ❤

Awe, this video brings back good memories. We stayed in a Nemo family suite a few years ago with my MIL. It was great, lots of room for everyone and on that trip my daughter lost a tooth while eating at the Sci Fi restaurant at Hollywood Studios. That night, we went down to the gift shop and bought this cute tinker bell keychain and put it under her pillow along with a dollar and said that Tinkerbell delivers for the tooth fairy when you are staying at Disney. She is now 13 and says it's one of her favourite Disney memories.

We stayed in the cars suite with our 12 year old granddaughter and 10 year old grandson. Everyone had their own space. Plus the added 2nd bathroom was wonderful! Plenty of room for all of us and we all had our own space. Since we go from rope drop to park close we didn't need to worry about anything but sleep! This was a perfect hotel! Also it was their first time. This is the most Disney immersive hotel! The following year the 4 of us stayed in a garden suite at the contemporary. We missed the extra bathroom! But obviously enjoyed it too! Thanks for the video, it brought back good memories!

Hey Trackers! I work in animation and I just thought I would let you in on some of the concept stuff, while I don't work in feature (the movies) I work in TVA (tv animation) but it's all generally the same. A lot of sketches you were looking at were "exploration sketches/early development"(A lot of the timon sketches fell into this, also some of the early simbas you showed as well as the scary dory!) They were basically trying to figure out how the visual language in the animation. While Sebastian and the Simba Jen thought was from the lion guard was probably later on in the process when they were close to final character designs!
The Ariel that looks "super different" as well as the sad Mater were from the storyboard phase! (This is what I do!) We tend to know how the characters mostly look and make the "outline" for the animators to follow. It's basically a "sketch" for the entire movie. We need to draw fast so sometimes artists develop a shorthand to draw the characters, it tends to be most similar shapes and fewer details. It obviously works since you were able to identify each character!
Just some disclaimers...I'm 26, new to the industry so I didn't work on ANY of the movies shown. But I have been lucky enough to learn under some people who worked on those movies.

This will come off as being rude but it’s not meant that way. When you stated I can’t imagine 6 people staying in here, it would be cramped that’s because y’all are used to a more extravagant and expensive lifestyle when it comes to traveling to these theme parks. Most people do not have the money that y’all have to spend on hotel rooms. Also throughout your channel you’ve been lucky enough to be taken on cruises and trips to Hawaii by Disney. You’ve got to experience stuff that most people will never get to experience. That’s nothing bad. There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s fantastic that y’all found something that y’all are great at it and it has turned into something that can support the whole family extremely comfortably.
I really do think that y’all forget that the majority of people can’t stay or eat where y’all go. The majority of your viewers will never step foot in those hotels that y’all stay at because they can’t afford it. They can’t afford rooms that are 500-900 a night. They can’t afford to stay in a Treehouse or at those cabins at Polynesian or Wilderness Lodge. They can’t stay at the Contemporary or Grand Floridian. In fact the room you’re staying in right now I know 2 different families, they were good friends, who stayed in that type of room you are in right now together because they could afford it that way. They had that little kitchenette and two bathrooms and there was more room that way even though y’all think it’s cramped in there. They thought it was spacious and there were two different families in the room. At times I wonder if y’all have lost sight of that. That sometimes it comes across as things that you’re going to expect to see in hotels that are lower price range then y’all normally stay in are things y’all pick a part and don’t like.
Like I said I know this is coming across as rude. I’m sorry Because it really isn’t meant to be rude or an attack. One reason so many of us watch your channel is because we enjoy seeing all these extra amenities and things and places that we can’t stay at. Gives us a chance to be able to see them in a way that we would never be able to see them. I do think, like I said, that y’all might have lost track of what normal people can stay in and afford. When y’all do finally stay in some of those rooms or hotels That’s when everything seems to get picked apart because it’s just not good enough.
I do wish, I’ve seen this many times in other peoples comments, that y’all would start doing a series of staying in the different hotels where a good percentage of your viewers would actually be staying. Of course we still want to see all the bells and whistle’s of the expensive places but also would like to see where we would be staying and what it’s like at those places and what those places have to offer. It seems like sometime you won’t do that because you know you’re not going to have the amenities that you have now become used to.
Anyway, this is all just a personal opinion. We all have them, lol. I’m sorry if it seems like it came off as an attack because it really is not meant to be. It’s just today when watching this video and y’all made those comments it just kind of rubbed me the wrong way. I do really love this channel and I enjoy watching your family going to the parks and doing all these different things. It’s so fun to watch. It is so much fun watching your little one growing up and seeing the different things at the parks through his eyes and emotions. It’s fun watching the two of you go into the parks because you can tell it’s something that y’all love to do. I appreciate all the information that you share regarding what’s going on in different places. I hope this channel continues for many years to come. Please just don’t forget about us little guys, lol.

To be honest, Art of Animation and the other Value/some Moderate hotels aren’t really meant to be rooms you spend an exceptional amount of time in. Your either out at the parks, down at the pools, or doing something else on property. In our experience while the themeing is very fun, you stay at them for the price (for being on Disney property in a Disney hotel) and when you don’t anticipate spending a lot of time in the rooms. It’s interesting and I’m glad to see you guys staying at a place like this, but yeah. It’s like a cruise ship, in a lot of cases you spend as little time in the room itself as possible.

Yes I myself never stay on Disney property when I visit and I visit every year. It’s just too pricey. Tim said it was $500 dollars a night. I’m going back to Disney for the 50th and I rented a whole 4 bedroom house with a pool for 7 days for $900.

Thank you for sharing a value resort! We have stayed Art Of Animation many times in the family suites and absolutely love it. We do only book it when there are discounts and it makes it much more affordable, but we always have six people in it so it works great. We stayed at a deluxe resort our last trip and the one thing my kids missed was all the fun decorations from Art of Animation. They did enjoy a waterslide at a deluxe resort, but they have requested to go back to a value resort for our next trip because it is more fun looking for their ages. Jackson seems excited seeing all the colors and theming!

Art of Animation has been our go-to WDW resort since becoming parents. Not only for the very fun and whimsical decor, but also because having a suite when you have little ones can make a world of difference! I much prefer having a separate sleeping space from our girls since we usually stay up later than they do.

We absolutely loved the Family Suite at Art of Animation. It was just right for our multi-generational family (grandparents, daughter and granddaughter) and was so central to a lot of things at the resorts. Big Blue pool is the best of any of the other resorts that we’ve stayed at.

How comfortable was the couch bed? I always get nervous about booking a room where a pull out couch bed has to be used. It would be one thing if they are comfortable. Regardless, after spending the amount you do on these rooms, I would feel bad to have someone sleep on a couch bed.

Good to see your view on AoA. I wanted to like this resort, but for the price I expected more comfort quality in the suites. We were cramped with 3 adults and 2 kids. I also thought the food court was small and food wasn’t the best. We had come from Pop Century, connecting rooms, switching resorts because Pop was sold out and we loved everything about Pop.

Would this comfortably fit 3 adults and 2 kids or even 4 adults and two kids? We haven’t decided on which family wants to go just yet.

I still (somewhat jealously, I must admit) am living vicariously through you, with all your wonderful adventures, and stays! I've never stayed at AOA, but have walked around the property a bit, and hear the food court is actually pretty daggone good, so I'd love to try it someday. Since Little Mermaid is one of my fave movies, and "Part of Your World" is one of my fave songs, I'd have to stay in that building. :)
L:oved Jackson's wondrous and joyful "Ooooh!" exclamation when you opened the door to the suite. Heart melted (as usual, with him). :) So richly themed, and since my fave dolor is blue, LOVE the color palette! But - sorry - that "C322" on the bathroom vanities being off balance would drive the OCD part of me absolutely NUTS!!! I agree - the trash/recycle receptacle is a great idea! And at my age, I NEED a comfort height toilet. But love 'TMI with TIM" - brilliant! :) I love it, and am so jealous, when you get recognized, and called out, in videos - I'd be fangirling all over, probably too nervous to even speak! :) That Little Mermaid cupcake was very creative, and pretty. Wow - the reflection of that fish on the TV was pretty scary! lol
Socially distanced hugs from New Jersey to the 3 of you. Stay strong, stay positive, stay healthy!!
