  • In today’s vlog we check into the Universal Endless Summer Resort! There are 2 sides to the resort, Surfside and Dockside, we stayed in the Dockside. They have standard 2 queen rooms and 2 bedroom suite rooms. The standard rooms were $88 a night at the time of filming this vid and the suite was $139 a night. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite, which had 3 queen beds and sleeps 6. There is one bathroom and a small kitchenette area with a table, microwave, single cup coffee maker, small sink and a beverage fridge. We give you a look at the outside of the resort, a tour of the room and a look at the lobby and eatery. We grab some dinner and dessert and then head to bed. We hope you had fun hanging out with us today! Thank you for watching and we’ll see you tomorrow with more staycation fun!

    The "insert key for power" is very common. The power will turn off 1-2 minutes after you pull out your key, so you can grab your things and walk out the door with the light still on (very useful at night). I think it's a lot better than having motion sensor for AC, because you know there's a human in the room when the key is plugged in.

    I stayed at a hotel in Bath, UK, that had those lights with the key insert - figured it was a way for the hotel to save on electricity. I'm sure guests accidentally leave the lights on all day while they're out and about. Seems like a reasonable way to mitigate a little wasted electricity.

  • @warburjg
    @warburjg 3 года назад +6

    I had that type of key controlled electricity in Korea. Usually the front lights still work without it so you don't have to fumble around when you come home late and it's dark. It solves the problem you always have in hotels, they don't need the AC on a motion sensor. It stays on because your key is inserted and you're in the room. While conserves energy while you're out. The first time we saw it we pulled it out to go to bed and sweated the entire time! Haha.

    Loved this! I’m a huge Universal fan…in fact I just booked a trip today! So fun fact when Tim made the comment about “hitting the hay”…went on an historical tour in Gettysburg and during the time of the battle of Gettysburg, mattresses were actually were made out of hay, at night folks would hit the mattress with a rolling pin to get any lumps out of the hay…thus the saying “hit the hay” was originated 😊

    In the UK most hotels have that slot for your keycard. Usually there will be a 10 minute or so delay between taking it out and the power going off so when you leave your room and take the key, you won’t leave any power on in the room! Then when you come back you put the card back in, and the power will turn back on and you won’t lose the card!! Great idea really Xxxx

    Wow such a steal of a deal. When you guys stayed at art of animation a few weeks ago I think you said it was over $500 a night for basically the same kind of suite. Universal has it together, will definitely stay there for our next trip. Thanks so much for another great video.

    My sister and I stayed in Surfside in Jan. 2020 and we loved it! It was both of our first times to Universal. The standard rooms were nice, the pool looked like a lot of fun (we didn’t swim), and there was easy transportation to the theme parks! Also, the breakfast was nice (quick service but we don’t require anything fancy)

    Stayed there. Hotel is crazy at night. The pool area was super dirty. They don't disinfect anything. There was legit poop in the elevator. Bring a noise machine to block out people walking around. The beds also suck. Worth the upgrade for a better resort.

    The power card is very common in Europe. It’s a way for them to conserve power when you aren’t in the room. We normally put in a store card if we want the power still on while out.

    I like their reviews, but some of the opinions given are getting a little out of touch. The average person would be thrilled to have a room like this, my family doesn't feel like their actions and facial expressions convey what they truly feel. We hope they remember what it's like to live on tighter budgets. Not everyone get's paid to stay in resorts every week.

    • @TracyESA
      @TracyESA 3 года назад +2

      so would you rather they not review this? I don't think I could stay in this hotel comfortably and now I know. I think basically a 'true' review would be: you are getting what you pay for. is that what you'd prefer they say? good lord

      I would have liked to see what a regular room looks like, instead of a suite. I agree with @djmatropolis that most people who stay at "the cheapest resort" would *not* be staying in a suite, they'd be staying in the cheapest room.

      They have done tour and/or stay videos for a lot of hotels in and around Orlando. & I think all of the Universal Orlando Resort Hotels - this was the last one they had not done yet so they just met that goal. Go on their channel to see the rest.. I'm not sure if they've done all of the Disney ones but I'm sure almost all have been covered by them throughout the years.
