Yeah, but the price of the Nikon is brutally inflated, almost 30%

Viltrox would clean house if they turned out a bunch of classic styled metal lenses to match the ZF.

Yep, a lot of these companies are leaving a LOT of money on the table, I'm ready to spend money on some pancake or classic lenses as you mentioned.

Great review buddy! But perhaps it’s worth turning the reviews on the other side, perhaps it’s worth looking for beautiful lenses than sharp ones like Nikon 58 1.4? It is not surprising that the Nikon 40 f2 is better because it has more microcontrast, the fewer elements it has and the glass, the higher it is, and therefore it may have less sharpness, but the color transitions on the face are smoother!

All critiques are valid my man :D. Like I said in the video, there is 2 different shooters here and the quality on both are different and the price. I hope I provided enough sample to give people an idea . Cheers~!

Love the 40mm f/2 and 85 1.8s combo for my portrait work.

Hi there! First let me tell you that some years later, now that the Zf is available, I've bought a Zfc (and a lens turbo silver black;). Why? Because of the Viltrox 27mm f1.2. What a lens ! Now: the Viltrox 40mm? Either side I'm looking at, Nikon or Sony, it's a no go. Ok, less expensive, but, this time why ??

Viltrox got some interesting lens at an affordable price. Its strange how sharp their lens is. Years ago we would pay so much for sharp glass. These days it can be achieve with a few catch for an affordable price.

@@theCameraVille I've bought a used Nikon (your fault ;). I was very surprised by the aperture behaviour, first time I see this, I thought the lens was faulty, eventually found the explanation on the web ;)

I hated the 40mm f2 and gave it to my brother. Bought the 50mm 1.8 S no regrets at all.

Yea, I love my Nikon 50mm 1.8s . Sharp lens and quality is crazy good. As for the 40mm F2, I was amaze on the outcome given its $300 price tag. Its a head scratcher. Im not sure what other reviewers said but the 40mm F2 is a pass for me as well.

      @@theCameraVilleeveryone apparently loves it. I also didn’t love the 35mm 1.8 S or 105 2.8 S and a sold both.
My regular wedding combo is the Viltrox 28mm 1.8 on the Z8 and the 85mm 1.8 on the Z9.
      135 gets here Thursday!
