Shivers all over from the Jules Verne intro, amazing! Too bad Gitana isn't attempting to beat the record. I believe the team retired their yacht and is awaiting the next one (18) currently being constructed. Good update on Charal. I also noticed Jeremy speeding up. We will see if he can catch up with the front pack. It will still take some time even if his boat proves faster than the others in the southern ocean. I've been very curious about that rudder system for a long time, and now we get to see how it really performs in this most difficult race.
Great introsuctio to the Jules Verne-Trophy. Just saw on Twitter today that Sodebo started. Really on of the last exceptional achievements in this World. Crossing fingers for both of them but we already saw some trials over the recent for years. The boats are breathtaking and really earn the term "Jules Verne"😉
Got that cup of coffee ready to listen! Thank you the best Vendee updates on the web! Updates now on the JULES VERNE Trimarans heading off today that would be awesome!❤
I woke up and went to watch day 20, and then I thought no, I need to getup and make some coffee so I can sit down and enjoy the show with a brew in hand. Keep up the great work Florian.👍🙏🇦🇨
Yoann really has made it look comfortable from his drivers seat (-8 I wonder if/where the Jules Verne attempt(s) will catch the Vendee boats … might be like one of those F1 vs sports car videos with a massive catchup. Either way, these IMOCAs have been flying!
It will be a while provided nothing unexpected happens and they don't abandon, which is always a possibility if they see that progress is too slow to realistically achieve a record.
@@floodo1 The Ultims are notoriously prone to being hit. They have many foils in the water at any given time and their speeds are great, but I have my fingers crossed as well!
08:50 Richomme's and Ruyant's boats are from the same mold and thus the exact same shape. The only difference is the cockpit setup and the generation of foils.
This was a great introduction into the Jules Vern which just a straight speed race. I think the 3 boats that tried this during the 2020 Vendee Globe did not all make it around the World. there was some damage that took at least one out. Very high speed boats and will have the same treacherous course to sail as the IMOCA boats. I think the southern ocean will also cause a retirement or 2 before it is over. Also Zho is not the first single handed /solo sailor in the Vendee race. Seguin was the first to do this in 2020 and is also participating in this race as well. Should have an award for both of these guys at the end.
JUST FOR MORE INFORMATION, I AM IN SOUTH AFRICA, AND THE POST ABOUT ALL THE BIRDS AROUND THOMAS BOAT IS BECAUSE OF A HUGE SARDINE SCHOOL IN THE WATER >>> MILLIONS
This is always too early for coffee for me in Australia. I don't allow myself any till 10am. And none later than 2pm also no more than 2 cups ever. Bit of discipline in order to stay on the planet. I always fast forward a bit when you have your coffee.
Charal is one of the best boat out there and Jeremie is the best if you use the Figaro race as a reference. I bet he can outpace Charlie on the Vendée 2024. He is flying safe and sound, hope he stays like that, totally deserves the #1 spot!
@@notachannel4u In my opinion, Charal is the most beautiful yacht in this edition of the race. Absolutely love the color scheme. Agreed it's one of the best boats and maybe the fastest if the conditions are favorable. We shall see.
At the rate these boats are moving, with 400 to 600+ NM a day, what is the estimated finish time? Twenty days to Cape of Good Hope. The same to Tasmania? To the Horn? To the finish? 60 days? Less? WOW!
Are we seeing drone footage in these clips from the actual race or is it old footage? Can’t imagine the captains launching and recovering drones in this conditions.
What about harness and life jackets on deck? Not very visible, and what happens if you do go overboard with boat disappearing at 20 kts ? Can you stop it electronically?
Boat can't be stopped, you just have to be careful. Usually it should be the end if you go overboard... Never heared that this ever happened during the VG. Rare like being struck by a meteorite.

New to this,,, Trying to get a top view of the race to understand more.. Love your, and the actual skippers, comments on what's going on. However, still not quite sure where on te world map they are going!!! Think maybe a :30 second pullback of the route during your presentation could be done.. . Kinda a larger more expanded shit of where they are , and where they are aiming towards. . For both races.. A basic 101 on what we are actually watching.. Thank you.. When he spoke of the future, northern route, or southern route, What, or where, is he talking of? I get there is this, "ice band" or a so called,, "out of bounds", line, where on the map is this? Sorry to ask what I'm sure you very experienced folks already know of, but for a total new-bee 😉 this is all Greek to me!!😮.. hard to make sense. Be honest understanding who is whom, is tuff enough!! I'm, as you can tell, am an American, and having an understanding of these great pilots, is hard enough!! But I'm trying and learning.. Just remember,, your not just informing us listeners, but your actually teaching too. Keep up your great work, Thank you

Wow!
The Jules Vern introduction was wildly cool.
Thanks Florian for touching on this race too.
Thx for including the Jules Verne! Super excited to watch those sleek, beautiful, giant Ultims running the seas at the same time as the Vendee 😍
Those Ultims are like from another planet.
Conrad is infectious … so cool to see his excitement for the occasion 👍
He's quite the character indeed. His sheer enthusiasm is second to none.
great again 👍👍👍including the Jules Verne trophy! Looking forward for the next🤩🤩🤩

Great show. Thanks for the Jules Verne update. Crazy speeds.
Cup of Rooibos watching the guys sailing off Cape Town
I don’t know if there’s anybody working with more talent than you to spread high sea sailing around the world.
agreed ;)
Incredible the Jules Verne Trophy, that is pure goose skin, thx for the great intro. 👌
great update, the fascination builds

Hey those VG boats are quick...but as I make coffee on my boat in NZ I am spinning around the sun at 67000 m p hour..or so?
Hope your feeling better ❤
Not 100% yet but getting there :)

Star citizen music at the start there. Nice one. Dreaming of sailing the stars, are we?

Could you drop that tracker link?

"Around The World in Forty Days" ⛵️ ⛵️ ⛵️
Where's Jules Verne in the description?
Hi thanks for the show
How did you get all data (VMG all rest) from Windy ?
Hover only get name ,
Pls add the Jules Verne tracker
Cheers
To get the VMG data in Windy, click on a boat instead of hovering over it.

Thank you.
Can you provide the link for the Jules Verne Challenge?
How many in the crews for the Verne race/record attempt?
depends on the boat
Why does John Le Cam say Clac Clac Clac all the time? What does it mean?
Seems like you forgot to talk about those dangerous winds
