Great video via the beard cam! 🤣 The water color/conditions looked nice for Gulf Shores. Made me want to head to GSP this weekend, but we are headed to Tampa to try for some snook. Sheeps head really are one of the more delicious fish IMO…I don’t like fishy/oily fish. We will see y’all at the grand opening. I really like that y’all are linking the gear used.

Have had some Sheepshead days like this down here in SwFla,,, Ding Darling Nature Preserve out on Sanibel Island used to have some phenomenal fishing where u drive through and they had big pipes under the road and the water flowed through them and they were loaded with all kinds of fish !! I remember my wife and I going at Christmas time years ago and hammering the Sheeps like u guys !! Also some docks inside Big Carlos Pass / Lovers Key used to stack with Sheep's in the winter and it was awesome!! We would anchor the boat a few feet from the dock and throw under n nail the Sheeps !! Sheepshead are great eating they say they taste a bit like crab or lobster cause that's what they eat all the time is crabs ,,shrimp n barnacles !! Learn something new today being a midwesterner I always wondered if you catch a big salt water fish 40 ft above the pier how would you ever get it up without the line breaking never knew there was a special net for it I've only fished in the ocean maybe four times only in the surf now I know thanks dot I will try pier fishing next time I'm down there how big of a net should I get

Funny. Today a lady walked into my shop because of my sign out front. Said she owned Southeastern. I mentioned that you guys bought it. Had a long conversation about the sale. Y’all got a crap load of stuff. I’m going to look at the left overs tomorrow. I’m a collector so hopefully you left something for me. She still has those wooden fish.

I'm wondering why you don't use a medium/heavy rod with heavier line for these guys? I'm guessing there's a reason. If fishing similar conditions I'd be looking at an 8-9 foot heavy action rod with a 4500 reel and 30-40 pound line. That's just me though and I've never fished for sheephead so I could just be blowing smoke.

Where is this? I tried Venice pier all day today and the jetty. Got some pompano on the jetty and a nice mangrove that’s about it. I can’t get a damn sheepshead this year at all!!!
