Didn't know people listen to mainstream radio stations anymore? Didn't they file for bankruptcy recently? I listen to a majority of music on the web or listen to my CD's that I own and if I do listen to the radio it is XM radio not traditional mainstream FM radio. Traditional FM radio I thought died in the early 2000s.
@@midnight-2021 Some parts of America and some other countries it’s still a thing. I’ve stopped listening to the radio about 10 years ago as well

For me with this song a new era in the evolution of pop music started. For me she was already the queen of Symphonic Metal, now she is for me also the queen of Symphonic Pop.
Floor’s voice, her emotion, the tempo changes, the beautiful use of different colors and instruments, the lyrics, the mix. This is perfection. I can’t wait to see how this charts all over the world. Just 🔥.
Maybe the song is too good to be a hit. So many nuances. it's beyond a 'simple' popsong.
@@Djekkie-gj7jz That's how I see it, too. It hasn't even 54,000 plays on Spotify yet. And a couple of these are from me - even if this is by far not my favourite Floor song (I prefer symphonic metal Floor). Haven't checked the plays on YT before writing this, but given the number of Floor followers here on YT, these numbers on the first and second day were low, too. Fire is not a simple pop song, and since it's slowly building up its - thankfully - not catering to the Spotify age type of song structure.

It's a great song for her first solo release, but I have many other Floor songs I have on repeat that for me are something I like better. The Amsterdam Live 2021 concert and her cover songs appeal to me more. Not too many songs in the pop world or any world are better than Elan, Energize Me, Face Your Demons from the Amsterdam concert. Wacken 2013 Storytime is my most listened to song.
@@bennybuffyloveI know what do you mean ...Amsterdam Concert is one of my favorites. I am that kind of Floor fan, that I have all Floor music (except one After forever album. It is hard to find this in a mint condition). That collection includes Ayreon , Nightwish, different collaborations in other bands (Like Soilwork, Delain, Epica etc.) and even The Beste Zangers . So yeah, these are playing in my house too 🙃

As for Floor yes she has a new album, yes she's signed up under a new record label an off shoot of Warners and as far as i'm aware she's still with Nightwish. The song you've heard with the burning couch ( My opinion ) is about keeping the love and passion going through these Covid times not giving up. Sadly i've been around people who have lost jobs, Ruined relationships and even one suicide so isolation, finiancial dept, a lack of freedom has effected some people. This song gives me this hope and a deep emotional push to unlock these shackled being tied down to T.V. and that couch. Thank you for your reaction.

I hear so many influences (probably conscious and unconscious) on this. The chorus evokes Florence and The Machine, and the verses are seeded with Aurora, Eivor and Ellie Goulding. I think I even hear Troy from Nightwish on the Bodhran and pipes.

OK, that hurt, "My Dad's Volare". I used to own one of those. That slant six would regularly blow ballast resisters, bringing things to a halt, and changing the plug on cylinder No. 1 was a guaranteed busted knuckle.

I just remembered that I had an Aspen and it was my buddy who had the Volare (misfiring old brains, just like that slant six). Same car, different nameplate. BTW, I checked and it looks like she is driving an Aspen (horizontal bars on the signal lights). I actually liked that car.
I thought it was pretty cool as a 6 year old, with the dark green metallic paint. Dad had a '77, which he replaced in '84 with a Bonneville. Figured it might be his last chance at a V8....if only he had foreseen the horsepower wars to come!
@@MikeandGinger Mine was green as well. I bought my Aspen and I was very pleased with it. Told my buddy about how happy I was and he bought a Volare. The thing could barely leave the driveway without breaking down. Apparently it was my fault. :)
@@MikeandGinger Something that occurred to me this morning. That Aspen could be a 1981 model (right type of lights and grill) and that is also the year of her birth. The car could represent her journey through life.

Well what can I add to your comments, not much. Only thing is hell yeah, that was FIRE. I’ve heard about 10 times since she released and it keeps growing on you. I think Floor can sing just a little bit, well a whole lot, actually. My favourite female singer of all time. 🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️🇦🇺

Does anybody listen to radio that often? LOL Never for me. I listen to Amazon Music streaming in my car and 99.9% of that is Nightwish with Floor or any of Floor's solo stuff.

The message of anger for what the world has experienced in recent years and the desire to move forward and "Burn the silence down" may not please those who would like to prolong this state.
One thing, metal is so much better, but you can`t realy earn money with this genre. The time to release this single is of course brilliant. On 26.04 the new season of "Sing my Song" will be broadcast on german tv with Floor.
Hope they show that in the USA on RUclips very quickly. Floor's performance will be hard to top the Beste Zanger performances from 2019.
Unfortunately there's no new 007 movies coming any time soon.
