" Chuck roast is on sale this week for $ 2.57 a pound ! It's my favorite cut of beef ! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones, Chef Buck and Camera Girl ! "
This has been my go to recipe since I found this a few years ago. It always tastes amazing. I don't care to have my roast any other way now. I re-watch this video every time I cook a roast as a refresher, but mainly because I just love this video. She's the sweetest lady and I love her style! Thank you!
Same. Found this a couple years ago. My wife and I like to joke and say “it’s gonna cook in its own juices”. Lol we emphasize on the juices part. Lol I watch it too just cuz of her.❤
She reminds me of my granny, who passed shortly after 9/11. She's just lovely. And the food looks fantastic. _Miss you, Granny, and all your delicious meals._
I noticed that too! Sweet how he films mom cooking, he's got a video recording of her best recipes, wish these were available when my mom & grandma cooked.
UPDATE: I made this recipe today. Family said this was the BEST Pot Roast they ever had, I agree!! Absolutely delicious!!! Thank you for sharing Mama Chef Buck

It is so sweet to see a grown man having such especial bonding time with his precious mom. The way you call her and everything about you two melt my heart. Hod bless you both. BTW nice roasted beef mom.
I'm trying this right now, he been on the stove about 15min, had to rewatch make sure I'm getting it right!! My oven went out, so excited to try this stove top pot roast!! Memaws looks delicious!!
CharleneWithrow mine too until I realized she grabbed the beef base with her fingers, rubbed it on one side of the raw meat, reached those same unwashed fingers into the base once more then rubbed the base on the second side, now her jar of base is contaminated. However the roast does look good. Just wondering where the mashed taters and gravy are.
@To Release is To Resolve We theoretically know and realize it is a false sense of being safe by cleansing the meat. During this day and age, I consider it to be a ritual I learned from my parents. Wish i could have filmed my meemaw cooking. She made some great recipes. She never measured it was all out of "looks about right" memory. So many of my favorites passed with her. Thank you for sharing blessed memories.
I never thought to rub the bullion paste right on the meat! I usually add a tbsp to two cups of water and braise in the oven. I'm going to do this next time. Looks sooo good!
I have never seen a roast cooked this way. This is definitely going to be the way I do it next time. I live in Texas and you DON'T want to turn the oven on...unless it's Winter. Chef Buck I always enjoy your videos. The mixture of comedy and great cooking works well. I have an uncle that worked for The Chew before it was cancelled :( But I'll pass your channel along
I just got done making this and I have to say it is soooo tender and so flavorful! I didn't have the bouillon paste so I used a bouillon cube in a tiny amount of water after searing it on both sides. 10/10 hell yes! Make this, you will NOT be disappointed! Thank you so much for sharing this!
How precious! I enjoyed learning how to cook a roast stovetop. I'll try it that way next time. My only advice to you is to ALWAYS let Mee Maw win at cards!!! Hahaha.
I forgot about this way to cook a pot roast!! My sister showed me how to do that in the 70's. used to love the way it turned out. Can't get that from an instant pot. We gave up flavor for convenience sake. Microwaves and instant pots are great but stove top pot roast is heaven. Also about half way through add halved potatoes and carrots and it's a piece of heaven.
Perfect! Optional goodness. Added onions while browning then after about 2hrs added carrots,12oz beer and 12oz water, 1/2 T more of the bullion, 1/2 hr later potatoes, seasoned salt and pepper to taste, more water just to cover veggies, cooked about another 1/2 hr until they were done. YUMMY!!!
OMG! Today is 3/27/19. I used the same cut at 3 lbs but seasoned it with a bit of Montreal Steak seasoning, oregano, garlic powder, 1 sazon packet and 10 whole garlic cloves. I applied the same method to cook the meat as your memaw did and Holy Guacamole it was smack your mama good 😋 Thanks for the video
This recipe is so simple but so delicious! Give this Mom props cause she deserves it. Buck's reaction to the bite his Mom gave him was less than enthusiastic for something that tastes so great.

Your Momma is one of my fave. She is gentle and decent. Please tell her I would try her this recipe as I’m tired using the same recipe with our roast. You are blessed to have a momma like her.

I get tons of compliments when I make this roast. It’s the best I’ve ever made and had. Crock pot roasts are the ones I’m most familiar with before this. Cooking with the crock pot, you end up with a dry roast with tons of juice left over. You then have to make gravy to put back on the meat to get flavor and moisture out of your flavorless dry hunk of leather. In this recipe, I love how the juice is cooked back into the meat on low. The result: Moist soft meat that is very flavorful. Leftovers for gravy are still there too if anyone wants it. Good job Ma and Son.
How sweet video it is, spending time with your mom is a precious. I wish my mom were here . Your mom is beautiful soul lady . You are blessed.thank you for uploaded video.🙏👍💐
I love the video. Especially seeing you and your mom spending time together. Cherish that time. I can't wait to try this. I'm not going to pay these crazy high meat prices so chuck has always been a great choice. The trick is getting it tender. This might be the trick low and slow but on top the stove. Smearing the paste on with your hand is something I've never seen before but what a great idea! Thanks!
Such a simple recipe but looked amazing. Gonna try this next time I make a roast. Thank you so much for the video. Your mom seems like such a sweety. God bless guys!

When I was growing up my mom used to make Chuck roast similar to this, with bullion cubes. I Have a jar of beef, better than bullion in the fridge. I need to try this. It looks amazing and easy to make. Thank you. PS Those drippings should make some excellent gravy.
Having you mima in the video did something to my heart, she’s so precious. She doesn’t miss a beat no matter what you say. Love this video. Church bells were perfect timing. I made this it was so good. Thanks Mima
Oh my giddy aunt.... Thats amazing mama Buck... Just like my grandma did it years ago ... Now yall got a country boy home sick... GOD bless you and yours.
You need a man to open that? Cuz I can go next door and see if the fellow is home. That had me cracking up. Soo unexpected. You gotta get mom a pressure cooker Buck.
yeah...I loved pressure cooked meals, but it's just one of those cooking gadgets I've never used too much, I guess it's cause my mama never used one...lord knows she has every other kitchen accessory under the sun
Old school pressure cookers were fairly common to blow up. My grandmother disabled hers or possibly blew up on her in past? She was deceased already when I took some kitchen ware to ask. But most southerners rather cook long periods... More love involved into the food. I surely will never buy one. ;)
@@ChefBuckRecipes my mom never used a pressure cooker and neither do I. I’m guessing the reason MY MOM didn’t have one is probably because she couldn’t afford to buy one. Oh this so made me miss my Granny! She was the best cook in Oklahoma! Thanks for sharing!
When I was growing up my mom used to make Chuck roast similar to this, with bullion cubes. I Have a jar of beef, better than bullion in the fridge. I need to try this. It looks amazing and easy to make. Thank you. PS Those drippings should make some excellent gravy.
Godbless your mom for sharing her knowledge and love for cooking from the heart.
Thanks Chef!!! A favorite and simple recipe…🤙🏾🙏🏾
Making this roast right now. It’s smells wonderful and I know it’s going to taste good.
well geez max, don't leave us hangin. How was it?
I came out excellent. This lady knows how to cook.
Having you mima in the video did something to my heart, she’s so precious. She doesn’t miss a beat no matter what you say. Love this video. Church bells were perfect timing. I made this it was so good. Thanks Mima
I love this. Heart warming and I learned something. Thanks a lot!
🤣🤣🤣
Old school pressure cookers were fairly common to blow up. My grandmother disabled hers or possibly blew up on her in past? She was deceased already when I took some kitchen ware to ask.
But most southerners rather cook long periods... More love involved into the food.
I surely will never buy one. ;)
Me too...thatJoke kind of sneaks by you, then comes back and smacks you on the head....
@@ChefBuckRecipes my mom never used a pressure cooker and neither do I. I’m guessing the reason MY MOM didn’t have one is probably because she couldn’t afford to buy one. I’m sorta glad...she made the most amazing meals without it anyway! She was THE BEST COOK. EVER. HANDS DOWN. Memaw cooks exactly like my Mom. I love Memaw too
I tried cooking my roast the exact same way and it came out perfect! Perfect! Thank you so much for sharing!!! This way is the BEST! I really enjoyed watching this video.
I can't tell you how delicious that looked, especially when your mom makes it for you,, what a delightful video
Omg that’s the best beef recipe I’ve ever followed and did not change ( well except for black pepper) so dang good
Just do you know, I cook this recipe twice a month!!!!! Love you two for posting this recipe
