  • First ride of 2021 and we tackle a double black diamond trail named Bong. This was our first time riding a double black trail. It unfortunately did not go very well! This was great to see how much more we need to work on our technique and overcoming the mental aspect of riding scary features. We will ride this trail again in another years time to see how much we have improved since the making of this video.

      We watched your vid of the trail and was like damn...we have lots of work to do lol! We still had a blast though and was a huge learning experience for us. Down the road once we improve maybe you could guide us through the trail?

      @@DirtCityMTB I would love to show you guys the ropes, not much approving to be done either, you’re solid riders. Best way to get better is to ride stuff like this all the time, lap after lap hahah.

      @@Aidkane18 only wish I had more time to ride. 60 hour work weeks make it difficult. Look forward to riding with you one day.

      Definitely one of my favorites. I need more practice before I attempt it again though. It’s out of my skill range right now, but I’m working towards conquering that trail.

      @@DirtCityMTB there is one slab drop and one narrow rock shoot on Bong I still have to hike. The consequences are just too high for me...lol

      @@atraildog I know what features you’re talking about. you’ll get it eventually. I need to work on shutting my brain off as it always makes me aware that I could really hurt myself lol!

    Awesome! Thank you for sharing...can you guys share where you guys parked? And also the trails you took so we can reach bong

      You’re very welcome! There are multiple ways to get to this trail, but what we usually do is park at the Laurel Lake parking lot and then climb up Cold Spring Road. About two miles up you will see a yellow gate on the right which is Traverse West Trail. This trail looks more like a fire road and about half mile in you will reach a wide opening. Off to the right of this wide opening is the entrance to Bong. There is no marking for this trail by the way. I hope that helps.

      @DirtCityMTB  3 года назад

      Exactly. When you’ve never ridden the trail before and it’s covered in leaves and pine needles it’s tough to tell.
