And the judges pretty much stacked the groups to get certain singers through (see Camille) and completely crapped on other singers unjustfully, what does “potentially” mean in a competition like this, you either pull the current performance off or you dont, obvious they were manipulating the viewers to get the Top 12 they wanted
When they talk about potential its like they really have what it takes to make it big. Im sure the other contestants can sing but Camille and Jasmine they got that extra something about them.
I think they meant that even though there were some pitch problems and some nerves, there was a great voice in there and they wanted to see if she could grow or not.
the judges aren't the ones who decide who goes in what group. That's down to the producers. And they absolutely do manipulate it to an extent, but sometimes not so much. If they truly initially wanted Jasmine, Diana, and Latoya to get through from the get go, they would have given them a ton of more screen time in the auditions and Hollywood rounds, but they didn't. All three got basically zero screentime and snuck their way into the top 12 based on instant popularity. The producers and judges didn't see them coming at all. People like Lisa Wilson, Heather Piccinini, Katie Webber, and the Roman brothers got a TON of screen time in the audition/Hollywood rounds which would make you think they're getting hyped up as potential contenders, but they all got completely TRASHED by the judges in the semi finals and got voted out quickly. Plus, there's the Wild Card show that the judges use to put contestants in the top 12 if they think America is on crack with the people they already voted through.

Theres some good singers in her group but jasmine is pretty good too most definitely the one to top 12 over the others cause Jasmine deserved top 12.
Take note Jasmine said school is tougher props she must love to sing rock on Jasmine ur talented.

I think it started around Top 8 when the harsh criticisms escalated, which caused Jasmine to lose more and more confidence.
I think so too but judges were pimpin Fantasia & diana to be in finale. Moreso dimed for Fantasia to win

i think “potential” meant that they wanted their three divas final, so they put people like jasmine and john through as filler, just my opinion though
