Hello! Thank you! I am Muslim, and my Jewish friends invited me to shabbath. I followed along them, but didn’t understand everything! This was helpful in helping me understand what shabbath means the customs of shabbath. Thank you!

Thank you, Marion, for your demonstration and explanation of the Shabbat candlelighting and blessing. As someone who is studying for conversion, I find it helpful. I appreciate that Judaism has a day set aside for rest. I have used my time of rest to read, study and walk outdoors. Videos like yours here help 'center' me as I prepare for Shabbat.

I wish the conservative movement was more pronounced in Israel.
    I really like your connection
with the Jewish tradition and faith.
And I really think that most Israelis would find it a good middle ground between the Orthodox and the reform movement.
I myself I'm secular, but I really think it's so nice to have an option if you want some time to connect to your routes.
    Shabbat shalom!.

I have loved learning from you about how so much of Judaism is centered around the home.
I grew up in a Protestant denomination where there was a lot of emphasis put on going to church and being seen at church. My family did not get caught up in that approach; when we attended church services it was because we wanted to be there.

One thing I have not been able to find on any channel (I realize you can’t film during an actual Shabbat meal) is a (for a lack of a better word, and not to be disrespectful) “mock” Shabbat meal from the lighting of the candles to the end of the meal. I would be honored to have the opportunity to see that.

Thank you for this! My husband's grandfather is a rabbi and very enthusiastically had me light the candles for the synagogue when we visited. I was like, but how do I do it?? 😮 I'd seen them do it so many times I kinda figured it out, but I was a deer in headlights lol. They were so nice and understanding with me though.

I've been watching your content for only a short time but I've been really enjoying learning about Judaism. I think rituals are so important and are somewhat missing in many people's lives. I was raised Protestant but my mother was Catholic and i always loved the ritual, if not the religion itself 🙂. I also think Hebrew is such a beautiful language. I would love to learn this blessing but would feel like some sort of imposter so I'll just listen to you. It's beautiful. Thank you for sharing this with us 🙏

I agree. I was not raised with rituals or traditions that pointed to G-d or much else. I feel such a lack in my life. I know it’s not the tradition per se, but it’s what and Who the tradition points to that’s important. But tradition and rituals gives you something concrete to hang on to. ❤

It is true that a non-Jew is not allowed to do the Shabbat blessing because he/she was not commanded to by G-d. (It is considered stealing). However, as a Ben Noah I have studied this and we can still acknowledge G-d on Friday evenings and make a nice meal and light candles. We can also make Saturday our day of rest instead of Sunday. Shabbat is such a beautiful ritual and I agree with others here who say we need more of this in our lives. I was born Christian but have adopted Judaism as my faith but not converted for several reasons. I always appreciate those who teach and explain these rituals to us.

Shalom ma’am, please I have a quick question… do you put off the Shabbat candles after all the prayers are said or do you leave it on through the Shabbat (till sunset)?
What if it goes off in the process, what does one do?
I love, love your video and would love to learn so much more about the customs and traditions of Judaism ✡️ as I am also a Jewish here in Nigeria(Isreal in diaspora) and would love to live by the words of HaShem to make it more of my lifestyle.
    Thank you, and shalom 🙏🏼
