@10:54 dyna matt for car audio. will eliminate that "cheap" feel, make product sound solid when hit or tapped as it eliminates the vibrations and makes panel denser
Little tip Jimmy! 1.) For the door hardware, put an o-ring between the hardware and the plastic door card. 2 days of driving it will instantly start to crack it. 2.) You can use some home depot roofing tape to sound deaden the plastic door cards and remove the plastic sound of it. It will instantly make the car more quiet.
Jimmy you should really do head restrictors and a head oil drain for it. It makes these cars 100% more reliable and removes so many future headaches. Its so cheap to do as well. You just pop a rear frost plug out, tap 2 holes and run it to the oil pan and all your future oiling issues are gone. The Aussie boys say its a must and they know their RB's.
For the door cards, you could also spray some Bedliner/undercoating behind the plastic so it doesn’t sound hollow or “plastic-y”. Also use some foam tape where it makes contact with the door to prevent rattles
Spray the inside of the plastic door card with a light coat of undercoating, then get some oem looking fabric to put in the middle part where it has the fabric on the factory door card, and then flock the rest of the door card, boom looks good, and no more cheap plastic sound and feel
If you end up needing the strap for the door make a slot in the panel and put a couple fingers width hanging out but mount it on the inside. That would give you a handle without a floppy ricer strap hangin around
Get some spray glue and felt. Put it on backside of door cards. It makes a million times nicer they just feel and sound so much better 100% trust me buddy luv the progress on this car
Also for the door cards maybe add some light sound detoning (if that’s how you spell it) and some fabric in the outside, you know it’s the little things
I am so excited for my rivnut tool n serts to get here also ordered a ton of downstar 10mm bolts with black n gold beauty washers im hype af thanks to jimmy i now found the perfect most useful tool ever the rivnut tool
Spray dynamat on the other side of door panels it will help like no other . Also they sell button style screws that you bolt up then they have a cap that you just snap on for the seamless look
All you need to do is use some spray glue and wrap the door cards in thin black fabric like a headliner. BOOM! They'll instantly look higher quality and more OEM.

you shold add like a rubber seal around it like the one that are used on edges of door for dings. also maybe using canned bedliner on the back or even the one that is made for "sound deadening" from walmart might work to make it not rattle.
Get some oem bmw door pulls and graft them into the door cards and maybe add sound deadening to the back tho. Cool upgrade for the e36 tho! Keep rolling man
If you don’t like the pull tab like that, open it up so that it’s flat and not flapping. You can even mount it low and out of sight. Just with enough slack to fit your hand behind to grab it. Won’t be flapping around or looking cheap.
Flocking the door cards would look super dope! And I think if you put some sound system style insulation on the back side, it would help with the feel and any potential rattles. 😁 love the content!
Hey Oakes Try some sound deadening material on the inside of your door cards, (dynamat)... Us sound guys use it to sound proof and reduce vibration and road noise.... Proper stuff will add a few kgs of weight but really good stuff.

You can always sound deaden the back of the door panel and use 1/16” foam tape on the edges of the panel to kill rattle to the door.
Jimmy, you should flock those e36 door cards!
agreed, ive done it on door card inserts when the fabric was peeling. way easier to get good results flocking than doing fabric
agreed would look better
I love when RJ says have a great night and then smothers the light of reality for the viewer. Really hits different.
Those door cards are rad! I bet a tiny rubber trim, like the kind used for overfenders, would look clean as hell and cut down on vibration.
Glad DJ is back in the regular videos. Dudes hilarious and you and RJ going back and forth with him is great.

Use some sound deadener inside the door cards, couple strips inside each will take the knocking sound out.
Dynamat the back of the cards and add pinch trim molding to the edges and that should get rid of 70-80% of the hollowness sound of them.
The vibes in that shop are epic bro
I gave this video a 👍 just because of DJ. Lol
Use the part from the top of the old door card. It will cove that little gap and you can throw some m3 on it to support the door on it

Cool to see he used these door cards, I've been on the fence about getting them for a while but was never sure how well they fit.
I’ll throw some extra stickers in if you get them ;)
I love how you were all able to help on the intake manifold. If I tried that with my friends it would end up with two of us knocked out lol
If you wanted to get crazy sound boom matt stuff. And maybe flocking this dash and doors have less glass reflection and numb the plastic sounds
3D print a lil pocket you can epoxy into a cut out on the door card, in a spot that feels natural.
THOSE BEANIES ARE SICK. AND AT FIRST, I THOUGHT THE APRON WAS SILLY BUT ITS ACTUALLY DOPE. I WANT!
Throw some hush mat or dynamat on the back side of the door cards, that will help the plastic sound.
I coped me a apron and a 1
Jimmy I just place and order with deutsch works and made sure I let them know you were the reason I was buying from then
Jimbo - you need to get that Black downstar hardware - some black chrome hardware would look fire!
Line the back of those door cards with dynamat to make them feel more solid. It will help with that hollow plastic-ey sound too!
Take some of the dynamat stuff for sound deadening bet that help alot and a universal windshield trim might fit on the top edge
That apron cleannnn
