No. A non-rechargeable Lithium battery is 1.5 volts, so it is the same brightness as Alkaline. A standard rechargeable Lithium cell is 3.7 volts; the higher voltage is what pushes up the higher brightness.
Fair warning: I tried the rechargeable lithium thing with this light. In my experience, it wasn’t worth it because instead of dimming as the battery dies, it just shuts off once the battery depletes below the safe operating output. Most rechargeable lithium batteries have integrated circuits that prevent over- draining of the cell, for safety. As somebody who uses this for work (5hrs+ plus of intermittent or constant use) it’s much more convenient to just carry a pack of AA batteries. Still plenty bright, and decent throw distance with the lense magnification.
I own this flash light, it’s great!, durable, reliable, bright (for what it is) and simple. Just recently went cave exploring with it and lit the cave up pretty good! By cave I mean lava tube so it was a pretty big cavern.
I love this light. I carry it every day. Run it on AA battery for convenience sake. I wish they would make it IP65 rated. If it IS IP65, then maybe upgrade to the next level up. I would pay extra for that. I live in Houston, TX. The hat clip is absolutely fantastic. Except when you have sweated through the hat, and sweat is dripping off the bill; or you are getting soaked in a downpour. Generally it will last longer than expected through those conditions, but inevitably I know I will have to buy another one afterwards due to interior corrosion. Did I mention the humidity down here? Lol I buy 2 or three of these a year, and at the price I can’t really complain.
Mine just broke and I found water behind the lens. But I bought the light nearly two years ago and have carried it every day. Really need to buy another one.
I own several of Coast flashlights as well the HX5. Be aware that the running time is overstated in this video although the guy might get that 3 hs running time. These have at best 50 minutes of running time with an NiMH Eneloop 1900 mAh battery. Nothing more. For the evening light use this light lasts me 4 days while the HP1 lasts me 6 days. Thats just about 15 Minutes at tops use per evening. The advantage of the HX5 is it has an noticeable brighter light as the HP1 but correspondent shorter run time. I only use rechargeable batteries. If it would emit as well 125 lumens on an Li-Ion 18650 battery I would go for that battery since that would give it a considerable longer running time.
@@greatamericansurvival I did not try any Coast rechargeable batteries neighter since they only offer way overpriced Li-Ion batteries. I allways got for NiMH only in an standard format like AAA, AA and D. There are mixed reviews about the Coast rechargeable batteries and they are all of an propietary format. Most likely nothing to write home about and their stated runtime and power is rather weak.
I bought the Valkyrie turbo and i thought this was the cheapest price lep on the market sheesh was i wrong but couldn't find nothing searching on Amazon for lep except that
4:34 “that’s more likely a time something is going to happen”… 100%. About 5 years ago; I went from my house to my car parked on the street, no more than 20m… Twilight/sundown. Long story short. Some fuckface were hiding in the bushes of my neighbors; ran up on me at gunpoint, forced me to a few ATMs… then peaced off into the night… OH! And homie took my roomie and best friend as collateral… It’s a helluva story… Everyone walked away alive; and incentivized to start carrying
I still have this little light, and it works great! When you use a rechargeable lithium, it is even brighter. Noticeably brighter
Will is be brighter if I use a non rechargeable lithium battery?

As soon as you said you use it daily and work on cars that’s all I needed to hear, I work on cars too and need a smaller daily torch 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Hx5 is the same as hp1?
Tengo la HP1, solo cambia la forma del clip ... técnicamente son lo mismo (AA/14500).

I Haven’t tried any of the coast rechargeable batteries. Are they worth the money to buy?

My EDC for 5 years
It’s been a great torch. Just added a new lamp from coast. Review to come soon.
Have a happy new year and stay safe.

if you put reflective tape or hydro dip the handle of the light you can get diff colors
Very cool ideas.
Where does the battery go?
Removable tail cap.. Sorry if I missed that
Thank you for some reason it won't unscrew like it is stuck, but thanks
@@ruthmeza4527 Same. It's like it's not meant to come off and all one piece

I wish this was a uniform tube all the way down instead of having a bell. Also, the pocket clip looks super chintsy.
Lifetime warranty 👍🏼 only pay $5 for 📫.
How do you change the batteries
Hello
Thanks for taking time to comment. Hope you have a great week.
Cheers
Sound is extremely low and nasal. Can't really hear you.
Yeah I wasn’t feeling well. Check out some of our other edc videos you’ll see that not how I normally sound.
Have a great week
