    My E35v3 has a nasty green tint at every level except Turbo. Outside, it's not a problem. But if you use the light indoors, it's quite distracting. I have an E35UE and the PD35v1 and both those have creamy white beams with dead on BBL tint. The problem has always been that Luminus SST70 LED. I'm kind of disappointed Fenix went back to that LED for the E35R, even if it's using a more duv=0 tint from a better controlled bin. I love the E series from Fenix, but I'm going to wait until they pair it up with a different emitter.... Thanks for the review.

    I’ve been looking to get a new edc light. I was looking for something compact enough to have in my pocket and not be obtrusive or I won’t end up carrying it. I was looking at the e30r with the magnetic charger, but this one is so much brighter. My only worry is that rubber flap over the charging port, have you had any issues with it so far?

    It's interesting that people have commented about their switch preferences . I have gone to pick up a torch(we say torch in New Zealand) , and i wanted to switch it on right away , in almost pitch black, but it took several seconds as i fumbled and twirled the torch around searching for the one side button . But i'm also not a fan of single tail-switch lights because you have to keep your arm up, or there's a tendency to keep your arm up in that 'officer checking someone out' pose and it can get a bit energy-taxing . Whereas a sideswitch torch can be dropped down lower(dont have to keep your arm raised). But someone made a good point about finding the tailswitch in the dark, so now i'm thinking that the best thing would be to have both a sideswitch and tailswitch or have a sideswitch which is glow in the dark or is continually dimly lit(as an option) in order to find the switch in the dark. I've also thought about putting highly reflective 3M tape around the on/off sidebutton. Just some ideas .

      @youthmanyt Год назад +3

      Side switch only sucks when u can't find the side button. I tend to put the pocket clip on the opposite end to help. Tail switch only is sweet as you can switch your hand if need be. Side switch and tail switch tend not to have direct access to anything and not good for tactical as you can fumble the light and drop it turning it around.

      Les lampes équipées de l'anduril 2 ont cette fonction de bouton éclairé et c'est très pratique.
      J'ai acheté une Wurkkos TS 21 et c'est une lampe très bien pour l'hiver (car elle chauffe beaucoup en été) et idéale pour la maison et ses environs car le jet de lumière est très diffus (large). En plus on a le choix de couleur 6500k/5000k/4000k.

    still love my Fenix lights but, I wish they came out with a version with higher candela rather than super high lumens.. ive opted to carry a tiny pd25r for edc & work carry & a cloud for other far reaching & defensive purposes if needed..
    fenix is great quality, but hopefully they opt for a higher candela version, then they can take my money again 😂

    • @alexandrelegrand7716
      @alexandrelegrand7716 9 месяцев назад

      Oui je suis d'accord avec toi, il faut deux versions de lentilles 1 pour éclairer de près et 1 pour éclairer au loin.
      Il faut aussi deux couleurs de lumières au choix : Chaud ou froid et même 3 choix : 6500k/5000k/4000k
      Et là, j'en achète une.

    I've had 3 E35s, all get wonky after 6 months or so of EDC. Pretty sure it's the lack of a spring combined with the heavy battery. I'm now looking for a similar light with dual springs to protect the circuit board. Fenix really should know better.

    BTW, Companies that produce the 21700 batteries need to bump up the Mah to 5500 or so.... whats taking so long to make this battery tech?? The 18650 topped out at 3600Mah so what gives here??

    • @youthmanyt

    • @kendrajones984
      @kendrajones984 Год назад

      Hello it has to do with physics. You would have to make the battery larger to give it more capacity. Then it would no longer be a 21700.
      That was the whole reason for changing from 18650's to 21700. Now they may be able to add a little more capacity but not much.

    • @duratoke
      @duratoke 10 месяцев назад +1

      You might want to go to the 26650 battery. The minimum capacity of the 26650 lithium battery is 4200 mAh while the maximum capacity is around 8400 mAh.

      I have the Acebeam P17 it's amazing quality with 4,900 lumens and 49,000 candela but a large head. Then I discovered Nitecore has the damn MH12 Pro that is pretty new with 3,300 lumens and 63,000 candela with a smaller head and battery indicator and brightness mode leds, I prefer and wish I would of gotten the NC even though it's less Lumens. Still absolutely love the Acebeam, quality is off the charts. O yea and the AB has a 5100 mAH battery while the NC has a 5300 mAH.

    1:10 Personally, nup. Too big for EDC and i must have a tail switch. You said its an EDC light so shouldnt expect it have a tail switch, tail switches arent just for “tactical” use. I like to be able to pull a light out in the dark and know exactly where the button is. Fenix PD25R for me.

    • @ChrispyThings
      @ChrispyThings  Год назад +3

      Tail switches are generally used for tac lights, yes. Side switches are generally used for edc lights, yes.
      So do I expect an edc light to have a tail switch? No.

  • @one4all885
    @one4all885 7 месяцев назад +11

    I have to disagree. Imo an EDC must have a moonlight mode. 69 hours won't cut it. 1 lumen, nothing less, nothing more.

    • @EDCPride
      @EDCPride 6 месяцев назад +5

      I have literally never used the moonlight mode on any of my EDCs that had the feature. It’s useless. Even if you’re a night time reader, and I am, I read 1-3 books a week, I’ve literally never found moonlight necessary nor have I ever used it in situations like that. People that want it, never use it either, lol.

      @@EDCPride where you at? What happens if I'm trying to sleep, no power due to a natural disaster and some gay zombie creeps up on my bed? What if I can't distinguish between that and my girlfriend? How do I know I'm hitting my chick and not a zombie? It would be hard to know in pitch black because my chick is probably just as rough and smells the same due to running out of soap after a month. It would be upsetting if my dog came licking my face and it got me too excited that I think it's my girl again. I'd never be able to look at my dog the same. That's why you need something that lasts long time. It could have been your day if you spotted a leprechaun that grants one wish hiding in your restroom, but none of these would ever happen if you can't see what's around.
