I'll be in Japan for a 5-6 week holiday in just 3 weeks time now, going to be travelling from Fukuoka all the way up to Sapporo at the end, really looking forward to seeing all the beautiful pink blossom
Thanks Amy for another great video. Last year, in the middle of March, we got to enjoy the cherry bloosoms in Tokyo. We didnt expect it at all, and walked trough Ueno park to go to Yanaka, and there were so many people there enjoying hanami. So the next day, we went to Nakameguro, and it was lovely. It was very crowded, but so well organised, and as japanese people are so respectul of others, it was never uncomfortable. Even for me, who really doesnt like crowds. Another nice experience is from a previous trip to Japan, where we were there just before the cherry blossom. We had found a nice bar/restaurant in gion in kyokto, and they severed sakura processo (processo with a hibiscus flower in it).
I've always found that too - even when it's crowded in Japan, it's not as bad as other places because people tend to be more respectful and considerate. That's one of the things I always miss about Japan. Glad you caught the sakura in some of the top spots!
Cherry blossom season was amazing, went to Ueno Park and it was crowded, but looking at all the trees blooming was beautiful. It was also the time for people to picnic underneath the trees; the funny part is the next morning, I turn on the hotel TV and notice the police and paramedics carrying people out of the park, many of them from too much drinking, and I said to myself, "hey, I was there!"
Wow, another awesome video with great tips and ideas to get the most out of the Sakura blossoms and the Hanami custom! Many thanks Amy for the links too. With all the fantastic info, no need to panic about making the most of the season.
Thank you also for another update on the Cherry Blossoms blooming, hopefully I can see them bloom at the start of the year soon or maybe next year, 🫶🫶🫶
I love ❤️ cherry blossom 🌸🌸. I would love to visit Japan during the Sakura season. I photograph them where I live. The damson tree, at the bottom of my garden, is already blooming 😂
Perfect timing! We are leaving tomorrow for Tokyo and will stay a month so hopefully we’ll catch some Sakura, if not there will be all the lovely merchandise!

That's too late for the main cherry blossom season I'm afraid! (I've been at that time!). You may spot one or two as you go around - it might be worth looking up where you can see late blooming varieties. Absolutely, it's essential to be respectful when photographing cherry blossoms. Manipulating the branches can be seen as disrespectful, as cherry blossoms hold cultural significance in Japan. It's best to admire them without disturbing their natural state.
This year's cherry blossoms are expected to bloom quite early. Please don't miss it. Personally, I recommend Yozakura at Takada Castle Park in Niigata Prefecture.
I'm no horticulturalist 😝 but I believe that any fruits they produce aren't ones you'd want to eat! They're bred to have pretty flowers, not tasty fruit. But cherries are grown in Japan - Yamagata's known for them.
I've heard Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden has lots of cherry blossoms but when I went in the fall it was kind of cold and rainy. Just a bunch of giant spiders 😱

I have always flown with FinnAir & JapaAir. My return tickets (Economy class) were always under £1000.
I managed to upgrade my ticket for the return trip (JapanAir) (premium economy, cost me +£222).
But now for the autumn period, there are only Etihad and possibly BritishAir with good flight times under £1000.
I don't fly with a Chinese airlines. :)

the Season of Cherry Blossom 🌸 is the Time ⏳ of Dreams ,
the Tears of a Dreamcatcher are Precious ,
the fall of the Cherry Blossom Petals 🌸,
is as the fall of the tears of the Dreamcatcher " ,
catch the petal , catch the tear 💧 , catch the Dream and make a wish ✨🌠
Also, I was watch a movie 🎦 which is nominated for 'Best International Film Feature' last Tuesday night 🌃 and it was called "Perfect Days". You have to see this. It rated PG.
I always enjoy awards season at the cinema!
fml... I'll be there in Osaka for a week and leave 3/24 :( lol
You never know if you'll see some early blooming blossoms! 🤞
Absolutely, it's essential to be respectful when photographing cherry blossoms. Manipulating the branches can be seen as disrespectful, as cherry blossoms hold cultural significance in Japan. It's best to admire them without disturbing their natural state.
Absolutely agree, 100%! Look but don't touch, and leave places as you found them.
This year's cherry blossoms are expected to bloom quite early.
Please don't miss it.
Personally, I recommend Yozakura at Takada Castle Park in Niigata Prefecture.
Thanks for the recommendation!
Cherry blossoms are very nice, but what about cherries?
Do all these cherry trees actually produce edible cherries?
I'm no horticulturalist 😝 but I believe that any fruits they produce aren't ones you'd want to eat! They're bred to have pretty flowers, not tasty fruit. But cherries are grown in Japan - Yamagata's known for them.

I've heard Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden has lots of cherry blossoms but when I went in the fall it was kind of cold and rainy. Just a bunch of giant spiders 😱

hmmm,... I think cherry blossoms are basically annoying ... plum blossoms are associated with girls, wisteria are the most beautiful and,... of course,... lotus blossoms are sacred ...
