Don’t forget funnel creek on the Bruce Highway between Mackay and Rockhampton. Back in the 70s, a few people went missing there, Queensland has some very bad people hanging round in the outback.

There have been multiple killers operating on the Highway of Tears in Canada, it wouldn’t be out of the realms of possibility that this is similar. I think it’s easy to assume it’s one serial killer, because having multiple killers is even more unfathomable than one.

Lucas's knows something... too much about this case that is fishy.

“Serial Location” makes sense, long dark highway, perfect for a killer. I have wondered if some of these 1970’s are the same serial killer though…

It's sad, but 12 people over 50 years in an area that huge isn't very many.

If the road has a high incidence of serial homicide, state gov should install solar powered CCTV that saves footage on cloud to capture suspicious cars when someone goes missing. Having mobile towers nearby also helps - they relay people's mobile numbers who have passed through the area and at what time. Much easier to catch criminals that way too

A CCTV camera every 200m on an 800km highway. Thats around 4000 cctv cameras. This story makes no sense.

@@NathanCroucher couldn’t they have one at the main entry/exit points, rather than one every few hundred meters? That seems excessive. I don’t know the road so don’t know how many points of entry there are though.

@emm8357 THE highway doesn’t have internet service, so these cameras aren’t able to “upload to the cloud”. Even gasoline stations are 100s of miles apart.
      It’s extremely isolated
      .

Its a beat up, the road hasn't been lonely for ages and its busier than ever. Don't travel of a night or you'll collide with kangaroos.

there’s a lot off queer type of strange characters in far northern areas in australia. the funniest moment was stopping in the truck to chat with a young man dressed like a cowboy riding his bike on the flinders hiway. no food no water but happy fella, he said he was riding to the other station to check on the cattle lol. it was 14 klms away and hilly . offered him a ride but declined . weird i thought .

The first dude in the photo is Paul McCartney. He started a small band - I think they were called the Beatles or something.
