Hey bro, just a tip for future safety. I herd a story that a guy was working under his car and it fell on him and killed him. So what my dad does when ever he works under a car, is put a tire with a wheel in it right next to you under the car and if it does fall the tire and rim will hold the car up on top of you.
Low strength versus high strength thread locker. low strength is used to keep nut/bolts from loosing to vibration but can be removed easily with tools. High strength is usually used where stress and vibration can loosen nuts/bolts. But disassemble is seldom done or needed. To remove nuts/bolts heat and other processes may be needed.
Nice to see that BMW is coming together. I was working professionally on many different cars and BMW along with Mercedes is on top of my list of "we will reinvent the wheel for no apparent reason" cars. BTW, do you lubricate internals of your air tools with a drop of oil into tool's air inlet once in a while?
On your oil bolt, I had a similar problem with an old bike. I found that a little hondabond/yamabond 4 will seal that plug right up. Just apply a small amount on the threads.
I just bought my first car and it's just like that and I'm trying to fix it up and I'm watching all of these vids cuz it inspires me of what to do with mine thanks🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
@3dmachines The "skid plate" you speak of is actually a very important piece to your cars structure called the X brace. Common upgrade in the coupes and sedans but comes factory on vert models since it has no roof!!! Put it back asap, actually get a new one. they are very cheap. U da man! o7 side note! also sort out the "m50" intake manifold you have. find out whats wrong with the last install. put it back on the right way. you will thank me. the intake runners are like double in size! I know your a busy dude.. but try to write me back. I'm a e36 m3 and a e30 m3 owner.
after it sits it would be a good time to lube it also unless u have an automatic oiler for air tools but not for paint run another line for that u can use it airing your tires or blowing something off
BMW has two oil pan design. one that pan will slide out and one that does not. The later design require you to support the engine from top and taking down the subframe to slide out the oil pan. For others engine can be lift up few inches or both (lift the engine up and drop the subframe). All BMW oil pans are made out of aluminum, new replacement would be around $400 (or more). That 35mm oil filter cap does not look right to me. Traditional BMW standard is 10mm which is pretty small, but there isn't any reason to torque it down that hard. I am thinking that it maybe aftermarket. That X brace is also aftermarket.
Magneticunicornswag yes he has a life outside of RUclips but most youtubers will always have a camera on them and also he works on his vehicles more than what he probably shows anyways.
that oil filter is a 36mm not a 35mm. that's why your socket was a PAI to get off..... it hurts me to watch you work on this thing but I still love it.
you need to replacing all the timing components not posed to rattle when you start it the tensioner has a check valve in it which keeps pressure on the chain
It depends on NY state requirements now. I haven't lived there for a little while now, so I don't what the inspection is like, but in NJ, before they removed everything except emissions, they tested the brakes. I know someone that failed because the rear brakes weren't strong enough. It was drum brakes, so basically it just needed to be adjusted. My point is, this was a simple test for them, which this BMW would fail miserably.
You may as well go balls deep with the BMW now and just go pure drift car because your brake mod won't pass inspection and you can do anything you want to it and not have to worry about getting busted. You have a pull truck already and all you need is a car hauler and you are set. Drift cars break all the time anyhow so you will have to get it hauled home after a day at the track anyhow. Just sayin'
If you want something thats cheap and will get the job done with good torque, get a husky. Ive got a husky impact for 70 brand new. It puts out 700 torque and is a great impact driver.
N what is the cleaner u sed on that moped tank I got a old dirt bike tank I Wanna use because if I dint an after market will cause it to lose value I'm I want it to be all original no after market remade parts
I'll be honest u left us hanging on this one but at least ur videos are getting a Lil longer lol 😂 big fan 3dmachines an I would drive the shit out of that BMW if u was u it's worth getting legal lol
Alex Hopkins Get Harbor Freight's professional stuff. Unless your local store sucks, Craftsman really has gone downhill from some of my older stuff IMO.
Let me give ya'll some expert advice. BMW's drive like a dream. They have tough engines, but overall the cars are very anemic, and parts are expensive. DO NOT BUY GERMAN VEHICLES or you will be in and out of the shop like it's a bathroom. Don't be fooled by their marketing and slick image.
and also he took so long to make the weld to the center console so why did he not just Mont it to the dash tbh I think that that he just did not want it there
carter the one and only no it is NOT mounted to the dash. the actual hydro e brake part is mounted on the tranny tunnel further back. then he has an extended arm that is mounted further up. But that too is mounted to the tranny tunnel not the dash.

Kawasaki 888 racing yea I wanna keep watching machine freak
Chase Elkins same here
Chase Elkins 😂
Kawasaki 888 racing
Thats funny my dad told the same thing. Said when he was a kid his car fell on him and the only thing that saved him was the rims under it

Your doing a great job man don't worry about body work and interior just getting that engine running smooth
low strength thread locker is for when you plan to undo in the future. high strength is for that forever lock(theoretically)
Who would dislike this. I love watching him build his car dirt bike or just fuck around haha. I left a like for this one :)
glad your feeling better
and the whole that you dropped the washer in is what i call the black hole i never can find whatever i drop into it
just thank it'll be on the road soon sure has come along way from when you got it runnin pretty good now... love the moto vlogs too buddy 👊✌
I just bought my first car and it's just like that and I'm trying to fix it up and I'm watching all of these vids cuz it inspires me of what to do with mine thanks🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Anthony Cotton what did you buy?

I found your channel a week ago and now your my second favourite channel (only beaten by wrangler star)
Can you make longer videos please
Rebecca Stanley yes longer videos would be amazing like 20 minutes
Rebecca Stanley would you have daily 10 minute vids or less 20 minute vids
Joe Rinkel it could still be daily 20 minute videos. He could show us more of him working on stuff
im pretty sure he has a life outside youtube
Magneticunicornswag yes he has a life outside of RUclips but most youtubers will always have a camera on them and also he works on his vehicles more than what he probably shows anyways.

This has became my favourite channel.
how are you going to get this thing inspected with the rear brakes bypassed from the vehicle master cylinder?
If he is really lucky, they won't notice.
most wouldn't notice unless they get tipped off by the crazy brake handle
It depends on NY state requirements now. I haven't lived there for a little while now, so I don't what the inspection is like, but in NJ, before they removed everything except emissions, they tested the brakes. Your videos are amazing!! Continue the good work!!
whooops....missed a dolphin sound! Thanks Dalton. Now, let that mustache grow, bro.
If you go on a tool truck you can get the oil filter sockets, should be like 5 different sizes. One WILL be a 35mm. Just FYI
That's not a skid plate lol , that's an x brace to support your bottom frame , its actually useful if you track , only came on M3s & convertibles
You may as well go balls deep with the BMW now and just go pure drift car because your brake mod won't pass inspection and you can do anything you want to it and not have to worry about getting busted. Davis King especially bmw ones
Glad you are feeling better
buy an oil drain valve it will probs work bc it only has a small amount of threads and its easy to do oil changes check It out
Don't you need specific liquimoly oil? For German vehicles. And a different viscosity oil other than 5w30?
You need to squeeze the radiator hoses to bleed the system to get it to drift spec
Nice Haircut man!
Nice Dirtbike's aswell! :D
i have always used channel locks to get the oil filter cover off
put a gob of blue gasket on your drain plug threads and it will stop the leak
hair on fleek today dalton
i find it funny how he only bleeped one "ass" lol 😂😂 funny as fuck
Budget for project Cars..... Take what you plan to spend and then multiply that with 3
If you want something thats cheap and will get the job done with good torque, get a husky. Ive got a husky impact for 70 brand new. It puts out 700 torque and is a great impact driver.
I have found my new favourite RUclips content
The New York roads have not been nice to that car. I live in mass so I feel your pain
My favorite part of my does 5:00
Why you may ask it's because I get to watch 3dmachines
I love how he just found that lighter back there
The ending to this video was awesome
The air gun u can take it back because it is a craftsman they will get u a new one or a part
Just letting you know in the later days
Craftsman doesn't have the same life-time warranty on their "more advanced" stuff that they have on their hand tools.
Yes they do just did it the other day will HD clippers.
Is it just me or is the e-brake in the way of the gearstick
Bradley Dixon I think it is to tbh I would just take the extra time and Mont it to the dash
Yep i think he should carter the one and only
barely misses
that royal purple tho!!! nice my fav
N what is the cleaner u sed on that moped tank I got a old dirt bike tank I Wanna use because if I dint an after market will cause it to lose value I'm I want it to be all original no after market remade parts
You should get a ingersol rand impact
Connor Sporich snapons the way to go
I'll be honest u left us hanging on this one but at least ur videos are getting a Lil longer lol 😂 big fan 3dmachines an I would drive the shit out of that BMW if u was u it's worth getting legal lol
2:22 I see a leak, lol
Oh snap nice catch. I hope he saw that
Scotty Skanker thanks. Lol.
AnimeLapse I think he notice since he cleaned it with a paper towel to clean it and then pumped it and looked at it
Jaime Avila Yeah, hahahaha. But I want to be the dummy who points it out to everyone. ;)
AnimeLapse
Its always the idler thats noisy or just straight up breaks off hate them.
Will it even have enough power to trip the tires?
A what kind of oil where you using in the impact?
The VANOS on that 2.8L is not happy, you can hear it on startup 😟
What are your thoughts on craftsman tools?
Alex Hopkins Get Harbor Freight's professional stuff. Unless your local store sucks, Craftsman really has gone downhill from some of my older stuff IMO.
cant go wrong with a lifetime guarantee. if it breaks take it back and get a new one free. also i love my craftsman tools
Parker Fetters are you serious I can't tell
Fresh cut?
Craftsman warranty take it to sears get a new one off the shelf then give them the old one and you get a free brand new impact gun
damn the BMW is coming together
Do you have a tig or a mig
your E36 is going to overheat if you don't bleed the system where you pour antifreeze there should be a little screw you take off
its ok i put like the whole bottle of lock tight on one bolt😂😂
Are you gonna install coilovers
I love this guy. He so funny😂😂
your e brake is leaking a bit
Sure is. I hope he notices
AnonymusHippopotamus he knows. At 2:30
Did that fix the impact
3d machines i saw your brake fluid holder leake fluid just letting you know
5:50 WHAT!?!?!? is your mic broken? "I love this design"?!
You should detail the inside
Keep up the good work
Longer videos and proper ending also take the seats out the bmx except drivers seat
Low strength just means you can take it apart again. High strength means you're probably going to strip the head out taking it apart again.
clean cut Dalton
He complimented BMW WOW
Let me give ya'll some expert advice. BMW's drive like a dream. They have tough engines, but overall the cars are very anemic, and parts are expensive. DO NOT BUY GERMAN VEHICLES or you will be in and out of the shop like it's a bathroom. Don't be fooled by their marketing and slick image.
God buy a new belt already geeez 🤘🏻
I have like the same car 4 speed i was going like 120 and shifted in reverse i thought the R was for raceing i guess it wasnt..
I like your new haircut :D
What model bmw do you have
please make long content because I love you videos 👍👍✌✌
spray water on the belt if it goes quiet it's the belt
ya coulda put some Teflon tape on your drain plug as a band aid until you can fix it properly.
and you should install a emergency battery switch by your truck lid there somewhere so you won't have to keep removing your cables.
Why don't you ride the Kx250 anymore :(
use a healey coil tread brother
you could just say "i have a BMW"
and we would all cry in pain because thats a terrible thing to have
that gun in craftsman don't they have lifetime warranty? take it back get a new one
I finally got my stickers thank you so much I thought for shure my letter was lost in the mail
and also he took so long to make the weld to the center console so why did he not just Mont it to the dash tbh I think that that he just did not want it there
it aint that easy dude
carter the one and only LOL mont it to the dash? The dash is made of plastic so that wouldn't work and the reservoir for the fluid hast to be upright.
carter the one and only no it is NOT mounted to the dash. the actual hydro e brake part is mounted on the tranny tunnel further back. then he has an extended arm that is mounted further up. But that too is mounted to the tranny tunnel not the dash.
Your hair is awesome
Your awesome 3D machines
