First time i heard this song i was like its good. Now, that i have heard it multiple times i love it. Such a groove and her melodic singing with josh for backing vocals is audio gold. Very atmospheric
This song absolutely rips! One of the more sophisticated modern metal songs out at the moment. An absolute evolution of the sound that made them popular. But as like anything else subjective by nature, mileage may vary by consumer.
First of all, hope you are doing better now Amanda. If you're more into the aggressive side of Spiritbox, the first single "Soft Spine" from the upcomming album might help scratch that itch. Very different from Perfect Soul, as we've come to expect from Spiritbox :) Anyways glad to have you both back, and thanks for the reactions 🤘
Hope you're doing better, Amanda. This is the 2nd single from the upcoming "Tsunami Sea' album( due out March 7). Did you see their recent performance of "Circle With Me" from Louder Than Life festival? It features Tatiana from Jinjer. Speaking of Jinjer, they have a new album coming Feb 7, called Duel. 3 singles, "Someone's Daughter", "Rogue" and "Kafka". Arch Enemy has a new album, "Blood Dynasty", due end of March, 2 singles "Dream Stealer" and "Liars and Thieves" New Dream Theater album, "Parasomnia", due Feb 7. Mike Portnoy is back. "Night Terror" is first single.
It is not taking over Architects' old sound since it's Spiritbox's old sound (with some new mixed in). As for the song being "too soft" for her, okay. Hey, she's going through stuff. And not getting the message... well, I guess it's good you pulled up the lyrics. And thankfully songs are easily revisited.
Listen to the previous single SOFT PINE that is aggressive. I personally think this song is outstanding and one point to remember they constantly change their singles sound …..basically don’t give up.
Personally, I love this song. It's across between their Singles Collection and first EP. Their ex-bassist, Bill Crook passed away in July. So, the song/music video could be about him metaphorically speaking. If you want (Amanda) rage, listen to/watch the music video of their first single Soft Spine (from the upcoming album, Tsunami Sea), which you'll definitely enjoy it more. Every time they perform that song live, Courtney yells in two ways, "this song goes out to everybody that I love to f****ng hate!" OR "this song goes to everyone that I f****ng hate!"
There is no way this song has anything to do with Bill. They wrote this stuff long before he passed and the video was likely conceptualized, if not shot, before too.

I mean we recently have Soft Spine, but whatever, there are always comments like this, too soft, too heavy blahblah

If you need the rage, try their last song Soft Spine. That’ll give you the rage you desire! 😂. Really appreciate the honesty though.
