I finished the book having a huge amount of newfound respect for her. A couple of things that stuck with me: 1) she said Ivanka was 14 and had been invited to a long weekend in California (or somewhere out west, far away from NY). She basically laughed when Ivanka asked to go, she said, “Forget it!” She commented that not only would she would miss school, she was irritated that the kids her kids were around were so entitled and so spoiled. Again, coming from a Communist country, this didn’t sit well with her at all; 2) she said that looking back on her failed marriage, she could see that she and DJT had become more work partners than spouses. She was so involved in building the Trump hotel chain, the only things they ever talked about were hotel design, hotel placement, etc. Her attitude towards life was really impressive. RIP Ivana. ❤️
The communist country where she came from and all surrounding countries at that time were something that west will never understand, that was a perfect life but she had to talk like she did; yes the west was giving the more freedom and money at that time but living in those countries was like health care was free, schooling colleges were also free, salaries were like you could have afford every summer to travel to beaches and anywhere you like for a month, mortgages and loans for an apartment cause people rarely lived in houses in big cities were interest free,. And more than that. But the discipline there was quite tight and that is perhaps the main reason why she did not raise her kids to be spoiled as young..

Maybe that was the problem. She wasn’t an airhead that was easy to impress or manipulate with a new necklace. I agree. Unlike Melania, I think she would’ve been a First Lady like most of the others. However, the only sad thing is that she would’ve died less than a year after taking office, and she would’ve certainly aged in the office.

Yep, people were so stupid back then. She was too smart even for the times. Those two fools next to her ( MacGyver and the other one) seemed annoyed like they had some sort of complex of superiority and bias towards her, it was very visible. Someone needed to have let them know that they were just entertainers, and not exactly the most sophisticated ones at that, with the most famous one of the two being a TV actor who had like 5 minutes of limelight. Trying to make fun of the truths she was dishing out, like a couple of sell-important bullies, so ignorant. Also didn't like Leno's energy here and then, he was trying to make fun of her as well. Of course that in the end, none of them could deem her light, because she was just too smart, charming and confident to let their shadows permeate. Jealousy and ignorance in its pure form.
